Used to be the best shuffleboard place in town. Now the angsty bartenders with a shit attitude have ruined the place. My father brought me here to play shuffleboard when I turned 21. The bartender took our food and treated us poorly over a few whoops and hoorays during our shuffleboard session, then got angry about us being excited by video poker. This place is not for people who want to have fun any longer. Hopefully the owners realize they're losing money due to shitty management on a friggin' Friday. How do you stay alive as a business in this era without caring about all customers. Not just the regulars you go out the the smoking section with. Btw this bartender told us that all of their tequila was the same product refilled by the same bottom shelf liquor. That was weird. Ssooo I'm giving 3 stars only becauSe I like the night staff* this is my first time coming here for opening shift ~ long story short I am always in a happy positive mood - literally. It's sickening... the drinks are poured well usually a nice chill atmosphere- usually.... idk what was goin on but clearly the older lady woke up on the wrong side of the cave. I ordered a Bloody Mary~ the basic bitch drank around noon time, it was not the best but very good in the sense I knew there was plenty vodka in there.. anyways I'm upset in how this lady treated me (us) how she talked to me was more like attacking~ I'm vaccinated & I understand some places still want u to wear masks etc but what didn't make sense is that she only asked me about my mask (as if she were pissed) after she made me my drink.... which also does not make sense considering I was seated at this point literally grabbing my drank to chug it & gtfo of the hostile vibe range ~ ultimately I was being nice & respectful as I have always been.. treat the janitor as u do the CEO etc etc & being at a dive bar in se Portland I assumed there was going to be no judgments therefore was baffled at how she was towards me ~ the way she chucked my change at me & all of the above* I got big titties but I thought these are suppose to make people happy ?? Anyways anyways considering that I feel discriminated against to say the least~ I'm clearly half jap~ oh btw I'm the girl who had her hair ripped out on surprise at Ilani casino by 2 different black 'women' obvi some hater shit/ racist since they were calling me white bitch the whole time they were on my silky, straight, beautiful, Japanese hair. The friend I was with is part black so it was weird & completely unfair how they decided to target me ?? We came here to watch a few Blazers games. They have a taco truck in the parking lot most nights (not Sunday tho during bingo we were told). You can order and he'll bring your food inside to you. Few TV's, a jukebox, video lottery (someone won like $900 and bought everyone a round!) a pool table and a nice bartender. They don't stock much soda. I asked for a recommendation to go with cold Fireball and she suggested root beer. She mixed the root beer up from a Crystal Lite type packet. It was a very strong flavor but I liked it. Good dive bar. Came in randomly on our way to take a friend home on a Saturday afternoon. Older lady behind bar, very attentive but not the Friendliest. We may have been overdressed as we were coming home from a funeral. Shuffleboard here. A fair amount of tv's and though I am nervous of the cleanliness of taps a DB's the Rolling Rock I had and PBR for my friend tasted great. Great prices, may stop in again someday. If you're not really into those things, but you enjoy brooding in a corner or doubling down on video poker, this place could still work for you. If you're looking, however, for a gastropub or a live band, or like, windows, you might consider taking your party on down the road. Foster Gardens is nothing if not unassuming. It is small, inside and out, and no matter which door you choose, the first thing you see walking in will be the shuffleboard table. Much better and fun then you would think...I promise.Clean, non-scary crowd, and to the point bartender. We had Gin & Tonics, made to chase away any blues. Tap list is what you would expect (Coors Light, Budweiser, etc.) and can line up is predictable (Coors Light, rolling rock, Hamms, etc.) but it;s a good vibe, and really relaxing. Then they send them weaving through one lane traffic on to other establishments in the area to sober them up and deal with their belligerence. Yeah.... I went to Foster Gardens because I was told they poured a good drink at a decent price and it was a dive bar (in the best sense of the term, and I was not disappointed). I got there at 1:30 and it's definitely a neighborhood bar, it was an older crowd at the and they have free bingo at 2 on Sunday, which I haven't done in years. What a hoot if you appreciate real folks. The bartender Tammy was welcoming and she helped me pick out a good drink which was a long island because they were missing an ingredient for a Spanish coffee. I ordered food from the food cart in the back called Debbie Does the Cookin'... I have a couple dietary needs that Debbie adjusted for and delivered the food into the bar for me it was great. All in all a very good experience and I will go back again as I was served with kindness and a smile from both. I'm on a quest to find a replacement for the torn down Chinese village. read more
