Bustling yet excellent service and well crafted cocktails and food! Disappointed no party melt any longer during late hours ... but the pork cutlet sandwich was delicious ( have been wanting to try)

The Lutz is best known for its classic (founded in 47), dive bar ambiance (is this like a double oxymoron)--well-padded booth, beer lamps and lights all around, even a phone booth (with an atm instead of a phone." Friendly, funky neighborhood vibe, also embodied by the bartender. Pretty good tap list, plus some ponders and bottles. But the best thing about the Lutz is the burger. I had the brokeback, with bacon and onion crumbles; tons of crispy, perfect french fries--at a very good price. Come on down to Woodstock and step into the delicious comfort of the Lutz.

OMG this place is amazing! This tavern has been here since I was in the eighth grade, probably befour........can't tell you how long that's been!!!! At least 50+ years! Well it's outta my neighborhood now but we were out garage selling I decided to stop in. Actually it was a really nice day and they had outdoor seating. So we thought we would give it a try. And man oh man we were not sorry! Definitely b back! The food was amazing, I had the bologna sandwich with the fries Hubby had the Reuben and we shared as always. Have not had baloney in years, this was to die for so much food! When we go back gonna try the wings and split a sandwich and fries.

This is my favorite local old school bar. No video poker, no sports bar, there's a pool table, pinball, one tv screen. Outdoor seating in the front and an enclosed back patio. It's dark. They serve potent drinks with an eclectic and varied music selection. They have one of the best happy hours in town, everyday 4-7. I love their happy hour food, but all of their food is good. There are many different types and ages of people that come here and the crowd changes depending on what day and time you come. Locals, Blue Collars, Old Timers, Millennials, Hipsters, Reed College students, etc., can make for quite a mixed crowd. This place gets busy everyday after 4:00. If I worked near by I would definitely check out this vintage bar for lu

The bartender said they need better signage but by 8 pm, the place was packed. I think this used to be a doggy day care or doggy spa. It's been open for 3 years and I never knew it was here. Too bad because I have moved from the neighborhood and this would have been a great neighborhood haunt. We just got a few rounds of beers but we stayed quite a while because they have a great vibe and video poker - which the guys in our group could not be torn away from. The decor is neon and chill but not hipster - like the rest of the places on this side of the river. They also have a billiard room. So, basically, there is just about something for everyone. I wish my new neighborhood had a bar like this that was walking distance.

The spot has such a neon aesthetic it feels like this should be something downtown or ritzy, but the prices are fantastic! Got a tall beer served in a chill glass and some asian flare snacks and played in their large pool table room in the back Adult Juice Boxes had to be the most unique thing about this spot. Little Hi-C sized boxes with different flavors and mini bottles poked in to mix. I went with the Lychee and Jameson combo and wow, was it delicious! Absolutely want to come back and try more combinations.

I went with the pulled pork sandwich, which was good and flavorful, and paired really well with their pepper & cabbage coleslaw on the side. We also split a cup of the roasted red pepper and tomato bisque, which was honestly a highlight of the whole meal -- rich, well-balanced, and worth ordering on its own. Close enough to PDX hotels to Uber. The food was spectacular. The salads are huge. The ribs looked amazing. The lamb meatloaf was extremely tasty and the chicken pesto fettuccine was able to be made without fettuccine for me with just extra veggies and it was stellar. They did not even balk at substituting the extra veggies.. the swordfish special with the mushroom risotto and grilled asparagus was awesome. Everything was cooked to perfection and our waiter. Torben was the highlight. He had a wonderful, can-do attitude, very accommodating and extremely friendly. He really treated us amazing and his workplace as though restaurant was his taking pride in his job. The desserts that walked by our table made me wish I had only shared a meal with someone. Everything looked incredible. This needs to be put on your top five to try list.

Drink was a gin n tonic cocktail mix off the menu (can't recall the name) burger was basic, just meat, cheese and veggies, the meat was on the dry side - maybe 2 / 5 stars . came with fries, the fries were ok. calamari was great, light and crunchy, not a lot of salt - 3/5 stars Vietnamese wings - these were so disappointing, they came out hot and sweaty, there was a pungent gamey smell in each bite, the bone smelled foul also, either the brine wasn't great or they didn't clean the meat. the batter wasn't crunchy, just really soggy. not a winner like the sticky crunch wings at pok pok or like any other vietnamese restaurant that serves fried drumsticks and wings. not sure what was happening with the wings here but they were horrible - 1 / 5 stars, only ate 1 of 2 because of the funky smell from inside the chicken. had nothing to do with fish sauce either. overall, beautiful on instagram, is worth a visit for drinks but the food is lacking. in a foodie City like Portland that's just sad. I ordered a spam musubi for my 2 year old, assuming it was plain since the menu explicitly listed it only with rice and nori. It came with green onions and spicy seasoning that weren't mentioned. The waiter knew I was ordering this for my son, but didn't check or mention the unlisted ingredients to make sure it was okay. I had to ask for a new one plain with just rice, spam, and nori after he took a bite and cried about it being too spicy. 15 minutes later, it STILL didn't arrive plain- it came out with green onions and the sauce. . . I was in disbelief but by then it was 7pm and my son had waited almost an hour to eat (mamas all know how I'm feeling), so I held my tongue and fed it to him, picking out the onions. If someone had a green onion allergy, this could have been much more serious. I debated back and forth to communicate this. When I mentioned the issue afterward so she could be more mindful, the waiter's "sorry?" came across as dismissive rather than receptive. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve service, communication and attention to dietary requests. A menu update should also be considered.

We also tried the sardine plate, which was such a fun little snack. The tzatziki sauce surprisingly paired so well with the Spanish sardines and really pulled everything together. Spanish sardines with a Middle Eastern-inspired sauce? Pretty clever! Our server was also lovely and came out to check on us throughout our visit, which made the experience even better.
