Found is an absolutely awesome place. They have so many things you didn't know that you wanted! Very reasonable prices and a delightful staff. They even wrap your little presents. I was able to do a lot of Christmas and birthday shopping here. All the recipients loved the presents. The only problem I had was with the stairs. I'm handicapped in it was really an ordeal for me to get up and down the stairs. I had to have a lot of help. read more

I've loved Found since their previous location, also in Kerrytown, but a fraction of the current shop. Now they've expanded in there and they've filled the space with even more beautifully curated goodies, new and "found." There's a bit of everything in here, perfect for finding a gift for a friend, family, or a partner, or a little goodie for yourself. They've got beautiful art prints from independent artists, handmade ceramics, plus stationery, a bangin' candle section, lovely housewares and textiles like throws, pillows, and tea towels, plus jewelry, the list goes on and on. Plus when you shop here you're really shopping small, because most of what they carry falls into that category. If you go to their website you can take a look at a list of the artists they carry in store, and I love recognizing names of friends and people I admire in their respective fields. It's funny because when I used to work around this area I never noticed Found upstairs on the 2nd floor of Kerrytown. Since it moved downstairs to the larger space (more than several years now), I've fallen in love with this store. The inside of the store feels homey and warm with the exposed brick walls and wooden ceiling beans and countertops, yet modern and chic with different textures from the tableware and furniture/room decor items, novel stationary, and beautifully packaged candles and beauty items. There are clear areas for each type of product, and they feature a selection of home accessories, artwork, decor, bath and beauty, stationary, jewelry which are unique and many made by local artists or smaller international producers. I can usually find something beautiful, thoughtful or unexpected here, and I especially love their candle selection. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful each time I've come, even if I didn't buy anything. This time around I did purchase an organic soy candle--it smelled so good--plus isn't a commonly found scent or brand--so I couldn't resist! As some other reviews have mentioned, as a local mom and pop shop the prices are a bit higher than what you might find elsewhere, but I think it's totally worth it to shop local and support the smaller producers that are sold here! read more

This store was amazing. From walking into Kerrytown and seeing the directory, I was immediately drawn to the name. Then, after hitting up the 2nd floor, I spied plants and headed down the stairs. Loving that we found "Found." I walked out with a gift and a little something for myself, but definitely had to stop myself from getting more. They had a lovely selection of watercolor supplies, notebooks, stickers, art, unique science-y things, and so much more. Prices were pretty average, but they had some awesome sale stuff from the recent holiday. The Staff were around and being helpful. The lady told me a story about the art piece I purchased, which I appreciated. This store is probably my favorite stop from all of Kerrytown! read more

Found is a beautiful store filled with beautiful things. I loved how they had items at all price points and most made by small businesses. There are so many beautiful things in here & the inventory is always changing as well so every time I visit, I encounter new, cute items that I want to purchase. Similar to the store directly upstairs from Found, this store is fairly pricey. I've spent a pretty penny here because their goods so perfectly compliment my space, they are MUST HAVES! Definitely check Found out around the holidays as well in particular because they do have some good sales. If I lived in Ann Arbor, I would probably shop here enough to rate it 5 star but since I don't, I can stay "a fan." It is the sort of place to visit regularly to watch the assortment of very nicely curated stock ebb and flow over the year. I have been given gifts from here, all of them cool and well designed and well chosen for our tastes by the gift givers. I know if I was shopping here regularly I would find even more, for myself as well as gifts. This was my first visit to the store and though I didn't buy anything this day, I saw many decor items I would love. Some are handcrafted, some look as if they might be, many are re-purposed parts of other and often retro things to make sculptures, desk accessories, etc. I especially loved the felted covers for laptop computers and tablets of various sizes, though a bit pricey. It's hard not to waste an afternoon in this shop. There's so much to look at, so many unique pieces to check out. Apart from DIY arts & craft items and home decor, the store carries jewelry, candles, antiques, and one-of-a-kind gift ware. The prices are typical for the Kerrytown area, but not out of line with the quality and uniqueness of what's being sold. I'm in love with the whole reclaimed and upcyled concept to begin with, so Found is definitely my kind of store. Get on their email list for special promotions. Yup, you have 'Found' your local treasure store in Kerrytown! This place is a nice collection of antique-ish items, local jewelry, fanciful charms, soy and wax based candles and many, many more intriguing items. They used to be located upstairs in the Kerrytown Market but are now downstairs with more visibility. The new store has great windows and feels more 'free' than the upstairs location which could get rather snug. They sell Ferndale-based Green Daffodil Soy Candles which have amazing scents like vanilla musk, cucumber mint, coconut lime and even one for headache relief! My favorite is the 'spa day' which literally can transport you to your favorite beach with just a light of a candle. It 'burns' the stress right out of you! You'll be sure to find something unique at every visit. It's also a good place to look for a gift for that person that 'has-everything'. read more

I love this place. In fact, the first time I visited I felt like I was there the entire afternoon! The owner is the nicest lady. We chatted quite a bit, and not just about her store - she asked me about a t-shirt that I was wearing which advertised a non-profit that I work with and support. She seemed genuinely interested in hearing what I had to say. And seems like the kind of person who also supports her local community. There really isn't a good way to describe the variety of merchandise you will find here. My big thing is jewelry. And there is plenty of it, make your own and already made! I was almost expecting to find even more things stuffed into Found... I've walked past this little shop many times, but not been lured in until today. I love the mix of older "deadstock" items (Christmas globes that could be from my mom's childhood yet look like they've never been used), along with well-loved and yes, new items. I'm thankful that the owners put time and thought into merchandising, because I guess if they store was overly crowded with any and all things it could feel cluttered. The white theme and open air vibe of the shop helps keep things fresh rather than attic-ish. I would say this is a good spot for gifts for female friends and relatives, skewing slightly older, particularly for those who appreciate objects for their individual character rather than a specific brand name or shiny new-ness. There are certainly new items here, though -- including some buttery soft soy lotions and soy candles made by Ferndale-based Green Daffodil. I'm pleased as punch that they stock these candles -- They were one of my favorite Michigan-made discoveries this year... and I had just run out of the stock I'd purchased at this summer's DIY Street Fair. I had a pleasant conversation with the staff about a local children's book illustrator as well. Even though they don't stock a whole lot of books, his had a connection to the store (he used a lot of found paper, objects and children's stamp sets to produce it), and it was great to hear about their support of his project. I'm glad I finally discovered this little spot, and I can see myself stopping in every few months to spy a unique gift or two for my mom, aunt, or perhaps a friend. read more

Reminded me of a smaller curated version of Treasure Mart put on display when I dropped in the first time over the weekend. They also do occasional classes as I walked in what seemed to be a "how to make a heirloom charm bracelet" lesson with twenty some women. The store carried a mixed hodgepodge of jewelry, cards, soaps/lotions, and scrap booking/collaging raw materials, which of course reflected the title of the store, "Found". The most odd item for me personally was the vintage medical tin complete with supplies. My favorite were the notebooks made from old hardcover books which I may just have to return for. read more

SETTING: I've been to this store when it was on the second floor of the Kerrytown market area. Now it is on the first floor in a larger venue. Definitely a terrific decision for an upgrade! This new venue reminds me of a log cabin. I enjoy the more open layout, now that they have more space to work with. ITEMS: If you're thinking about getting a gift, you HAVE to make a visit to Found. They have plenty of antique-like objects, souvenirs, Ann Arbor specific items, seasonal items, anything and everything for all sorts of people. Many of these items are very affordable too. There are sales every now and then that range from 10-20% off the entire store during holidays. SERVICE: Whenever I drop in they are always smiling. Just a joy to be around. Recently, I came to return an item because it was a slightly broken. The staff were very nice and even picked out a new item for me, even though I already found myself a new one. They apologized to me, saying they "were sorry I had to go through all this trouble and come back just to get a new item". It wasn't a big deal, really, but I do appreciate their sincere customer service. IMPRESSIONS: I really adore this place. It's a cute store with lots of cool items. Very easy to spend a good amount of time just sifting through all their unique offerings. Need something for Mom or Dad? Significant other? Friend? I love this place! A few weeks ago I attended antique button jewelry-making workshop, and it was fun, relaxing, creative and inspiring. The staff hosted the workshop along w/ the owner of SweetPlumVintage, one of the store's artists. We made charm bracelets out of vintage buttons and charms. The store provided fruit, cheese, wine, and sparkling water while we crafted away. The store's layout is eye-catching with soft, comforting colors. For the creative crafter, there are jars of antique buttons, game pieces, envelopes of used stamps, books on collage, ephemera galore, and a discriminatory selection of craft tools. For the collector, there are beautiful works of art made of repurposed materials. One of my favorites are the bags and purses made of burlap coffee bags from Mighty Good Coffee. The collage jewelry is sweet too! Since Found is so well merchandised, you will not find flea market prices. However, you won't have to sift through lots of junk to find your jewels. read more

I was excited to go to Found, i was expecting a eclectic funky grandma's attic sort of thing, instead i got a few fun great things, like a basket made out of film negatives, and a bunch of stuff i really would find in MY grandma's attic, such as chipped salt and pepper shakers. Mmm...Found. What can I say? I love this place. But that doesn't even begin to sum it up. It's stupendous. No, not even that describes it. You just need to come in here. I nearly died on seeing their selection of real type slugs, all in an original printer's cabinet. When I went in, there were also about four or five drawers of old glass slides for five bucks each. This store made me want to move to Ann Arbor...badly. Just for the sake of having this place at close range. Overall, the prices are fair--you get what you pay for. I wouldn't say I found anything too expensive, for what you would be getting. There is a huge variety of things, I don't think anyone would be dissatisfied at coming in here--it's mind-blowing. Especially if, like me, you enjoy things of the older persuasion. The staff was very friendly, made enjoyable conversation, and made the whole place fun to be in. I've been visiting Found for years upstairs in the Kerrytown building next to the farmers market. They've always had a fun, unique assortment of vintage, industrial, local, and creative goods. They've recently moved to a lower-level space that is absolutely gorgeous! The new space is warm, bright, contemporary, and inviting! There's more space for their merchandise and a demo station for workshops. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you out.
