Overdue for an update now that they've expanded into the space next door. Hard to believe but it's even better! The new space houses a wine tasting counter and a place for their beverages and a few other products. This lets the whole space breathe a bit more and gives for more elbow room during peak shopping times when it gets nice and crowded in there. High five for still offering plentiful samples. Right now we're big fans of the amaretto cherries in this house. Also the extra dark cherries! But honestly I don't think I've ever had anything here I didn't like. If you happen to be in Mi, a cherry lover then you must try this place everything but cherry, candy -drinks - jam- food. The soda/ water is pretty good , not to powering. Their dining has good delicious food from salad - burgers- soup . Their pie/ ice cream are a hit . Our waiter was a one man show handling all orders and distributing the meals. I always enjoyed going here and I always make sure to stop by when showing a new friend around the area. The always have free samples for people to try (including free samples of their wine of the week) and really beautiful merchandise. In general, I would definitely recommend stopping in if you want to try some yummy cherry flavors and see some Michigan gear. My favorite is the cherry sour patch gummies and any of their chocolate selections. They make great gifts for the holidays. The only reason why I put 4/5 stars is because I recently went and one of the dark haired employees kept watching me and her expression seemed a bit rude but I could have been misunderstanding and generally most of the workers are very kind. read more

I walked into Cherry Republic with one mission and one mission only: real chocolate covered cherries. You know the kind. Thick chocolate shell, gooey center, filling that actually runs. A full commitment to messiness. And then... they didn't have them. Like... WHAT?! A cherry place. No classic gooey chocolate cherries. I stood there mentally buffering. The prices were also a little wild, but honestly, it's Ann Arbor and I'm sure the rent requires a second mortgage, so I get it. No hard feelings there. That said, the staff was great. Friendly, helpful, and probably very used to people walking in with intense cherry-based expectations. I didn't end up buying anything because my heart was set on those cherries and I'm loyal when I crave something. I was on a date and came into this cherry Republic store when I saw some sour cherry balls in the window. I'm a sucker for sour cherry things and so I had to go in to see if they had a sample since Christmas is just around the corner . I saw the product which was a bit expensive but understandable for a downtown Ann Arbor boutique type store, but I didn't wanna purchase it if it wasn't good. I went up to the employees which were plentiful and they directed me to a few few sample stands, which I was overjoyed that the allergens were limited, and I was able to try the item. The sour cherry balls were delicious and I found out they have a lot of other products that looked really good, but I wasn't able to try them due to allergies . I had no idea. They also have a wine bar in the store. It's not really my thing, but I can see a lot of people enjoy enjoying the experience with some girlfriends as they're walking downtown . I used to spend summers at Interlochen National Music Camp near Traverse City, and Michigan cherries just bring out the best childhood memories for me. My favorite part about walking into this store is how it instantly transports me to "up north". Maybe because I associate cherries with the Traverse City area, but something about the vibes of the store make me feel like I'm on the mini-est of vacations. You'll find cherry EVERYTHING here. My favorites are the tart cherry juice (much more expensive than the grocery store version, but you can taste the difference in quality and it's 100% Michigan cherries), the cherry sour candies, and chocolate covered cherries. The staff here lets you try free samples so I would take advantage of it. They sell wine as well but I'm not 100% sure if you're able to sample, but I will be asking during my next visit haha. We went here after climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes. We were mostly going for the wine tasting, but after smelling the delicious food, we decided to get lunch. I'm so glad we did. Everyone was great and the place was packed! The only reason for four stars is that the fries weren't very good. read more

The jury's still out, as I'm told my case has been sent up the chain, but my online gift ordering experience wasn't good. In exchange for contact information I was told I'd get a 15% discount on my order. It didn't materialize, so I contacted the company online and interacted either with a human using a pseudonym or an AI doing what AIs do. My order was abruptly canceled without explanation and the charge remains on my credit card. Presumably my $204.95 will be credited back. The invoice is so lacking in detail that it would be impossible to tell whether or not I got a discount (but if my arithmetic is correct, I didn't). read more

A Favorite store to visit in Ann Arbor and a favorite business for ordering gifts. They have a wide variety of cherry products-ALL DELICIOUS! Candies, coffees, wines, trail mixes, jams, pie fillings, etc. There are free tasting stations for the candies inside. There are paid wine-tastings also. I love Cherry Republic so much. We are definitely their customers. There are so many products that we love. For the kids I often buy the cherry sour balls, so good, they burst in your mouth. I love their chunky cookies. The spicy horseradish mustard is the best. When they have their peanut butter, it is a must purchase for us. I often buy their sausage and beef sticks as gifts. I am also a big fan of their sodas and wines. I was so happy to see they have planned an expansion with a larger wine counter and soda counter. I can't wait to visit once it is complete. Place: This place is my favorite. I have been coming here since I was in undergrad. This place is perfect for gift giving. Service: The service here is so nice and precovid they had samples. Food/price: They literally have it all: they got salsas, almond butter, drinks, wines etc. It is all cherry themed lol. The price is kinda worth and the packaging that it comes in also makes it so pretty and aesthetically pleasing. My favorite is the sour candies and dark chocolate cherries. Four star because the prices, which is a little on the expensive side. The shop has everything you can think of that is cherry in it including cheese and sausage! Went here for a wine tasting VERY inexpensive to try 6 different wines. Only $5 per person. They have a great variety of dry and sweet cherry wines that you can choose what to taste. I did end up leaving feeling a little loose due to each taste being about 1.5 oz of wine so you end up drinking a full glass and they are all about 10-11%. The employee that serviced us for the wines was very polite and nice. The store itself has a bunch of everything cherry flavored so if you do love cherries I would suggest coming here! read more

I'm not a coffee drinker. Neither is my brother, but both of us loved the dark chocolate cherry coffee beans. I like Trader Joe's and Sprouts dark chocolate espresso beans, but I liked these chocolate cherry beans even better! Cherry just enhances the flavor. They even had samples of cherry peanut butter, yes, cherry peanut butter and cherry jam to go with it. My brother ended up getting some dark chocolate covered cherries and some cherry s'mores. So, it's no surprise that Cherry Republic is conveniently located on a busy intersection in Ann Arbor.
