I love, love, loveeee this place! I live in Texas but travel to Albion for work, and The Foundry Bakery is the spot I literally dream about until I'm back in town. The service is always top-notch, and everything they make is absolutely delicious. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing, their lunch sandwiches(I especially love the Cope sandwich), their potato salad, macaroni salad, and soups are all fantastic. But my all-time favorite? The key lime bar -- it's perfection. I just wish they had one in Texas! read more

Popped in briefly when passing through town for a nibble and a caffeinated beverage. Unfortunately we got there after they had wrapped lunch for the day but they were kind enough to toast up a bagel for me with some cream cheese. My husband and I also got a few donuts and a cold brew coffee to split. The bagel and donuts were great. We got the glazed yeast donuts and they were melt in your mouth, just like I like 'em. The bagel, baked in house I believe, was also good, as was the cold brew (I just wish that had been a simple syrup available to add since I do like my cold brew just a touch sweet). Staff was SO kind and helpful, and the space is clean and spacious with plenty of seating in the dining room. Desserts looked ridiculously tasty but we were on the road and it's hard to eat that on the go. Next time! read more

Cute little place with a nice sandwich selection. They use boar's head meats so you know it'll be good. They also have bakery items like donuts, small desserts, cupcakes and cookies which all looked good but I didn't have room left after my BBQ Turkey sandwich! read more

Albion will break your heart sometimes. It's exciting that there's a new bakery (and sandwich shop) in town - each new storefront adds a drop of vibrancy to Saginaw Street. But this place was disappointing. I ordered two sandwiches ... and had a hard time telling which was drier. As a lover of sandwich shops, I was especially disappointed at the lack of meat on either one - just a slice or two. Even the turkey sandwich, which had a *mango chutney*, was dry. And neither sandwich had any real, noticeable flavor. Which was surprising, given that one had a mango chutney spread. All of this was especially disappointing, given that the sandwich was $8.50 (or $10 with chips or a tiny side). I hope, for Albion's sake, this place takes a hard look at its menu and makes some changes that might enable it to stick around. read more

I'm not super picky when it comes to baked goods, because they are my favorite! But the last couple of visits I've made haven't been very delighted. They're pumpkin cupcakes are great, but donuts and a lot of cookies will taste as they've been sitting out all day and very dried out. Again, love baked goods when they are fresh! I've been here a few times in the morning when the donuts were fresh and they were 10x better. read more

Their cookies are so amazing - my favorite is the lemon sugar cookie. There's an app to download so you earn points with every purchase.
