This is a terrific ice cream spot in Downtown Jackson. The interior features fun decor appropriate for an ice cream parlor. The dining area is small but nicely arranged. The ice cream is outstanding. I highly recommend Nana's Banana Pudding ice cream. The Bourbon Trail ice cream was also very good. The Chicken Hoagie was tasty and the House Fries were great. The prices were fair and the counter service was fine. The only reason I did not give this a five-star rating is that it took more than half-an-hour to get our food to us after we ordered. With a hangry 3-year-old, that was a bit annoying. It was clear why this was the case as they were churning out to-go orders like crazy. We were so far back in the queue because there were so many on-line orders ahead of us. They're busier than they appear from the foot traffic. We finally had to order our ice cream (which came up quickly) to give our granddaughter something to eat because the sandwich and fries were taking so long to get to us. I am not sure what to suggest to them to rectify this, but I'm not inclined to go back on a busy weekend night unless I order ahead. read more

This was my first time here. The music was a little loud but the building itself was joyous. The decor was fun with a bit of a diner feel. The staff was friendly and quick to acknowledge my presence and helped me maneuver through the menu. The food took a bit longer than I expected and I appreciated it because it was literally being cooked fresh. I could see the kitchen and the cooks making my food. Now the taste... delicious. The burgers were flavorful, the bun soft and fresh, the condiments were the right amount for me (I know this is subjective). The fries were cooked as I asked with a nice amount in the large. Waited 35 min for 3 burgers, something was missing or wrong with all of them, one of them had nothing right but the bacon. Took it back for a re make. Waited another 25 before we asked where it was. Hadn't even been started yet. There was a woman in the shop waiting before us, and left empty handed and unset. Came for dinner and dessert but didn't want to waste any more time waiting for ice cream. Seemed as tho there was no management in site, just a bunch of teenagers with only a few actually working. read more

Food is over priced. There's little to no seasoning on the burger patties. I was told the moo moo sauce has Chipotle in it so I figured it would have a little bite of heat. The burger is really bland and no flavor. The fries were decent. read more

Ice cream is good however service is unpredictable. First visit was great, manager was very nice and started up a conversation. Came back tonight and waited 20 minutes for our ice cream and order came out wrong and my sisters scoop was forgotten about. Also known as RJs. Had take out from here. Son's fiancé works at Jackson library and it's a favorite spot for the library staff. Ordered a cheesesteak with pepper jack, shake, and we had three kinds of fries. Everything was excellent. Now this is not a classic cheese steak as it's served on a hamburger bun. However, I found it easier to eat and the bun was soft and a little sweet. The steak was tender, savory, rich in beef flavors and so satisfying. You can get several different cheeses on one sandwich so feel free to go crazy. The fries were amazing. Had some ranch, garlic, and buffalo. All distinct and flavorful. Although by the time we ate them they were starting to get a little soggy. Such is the risk of take out. The shake is a perfect consistency and served with the extra big straw so easy to drink. If you haven't gotten a burger here you're missing out. Service is quick and friendly. Price reasonable. Beef is the good stuff (a custom grind of chuck, short rib, and brisket) and there's a nice choice of toppings and cheeses. Can't go wrong with the Moo Moo sauce. The fries are lightly battered and cooked up fresh for the perfect crunch. I've been visiting Jackson a lot lately and normally like to seek out new places, but no, I just keep grabbing these awesome burgers instead. No regrets. read more

We didn't realize it but 4 of us walked in 10 minutes to close. The staff never said a word. They were super helpful and friendly. We just got ice cream. Nice selection and bigger servicing size than expected. We got our moneys worth. We sat down and that's when we realized they were closing up. As they locked the front door the told us to enjoy our ice cream and take our time. I can't say enough about this great staff. I was impressed with how clean the place was. The shop had a great vibe to it. They had their Christmas/winter decorations up and they were impressive too. I read in a review they have good burgers so I will be back for sure! read more

Very cute old timey addition to downtown Jackson. Fairly busy on a Saturday night which is nice to see! Tried the Ashby's ice cream & a rootbeer float, pretty self explanatory. Absolutely loved our experience. The inside I'm clean and simple. The staff are nice and helpful. I love the fact that they don't have your typical ice cream. I got the Georgia peach and it was delicious it had real fresh peaches in it. All the ice cream tastes so fresh and good. My husband got the banana split, which was huge lol, but was the most loaded sundae with nuts and all. Also try the fries! If you like something with a kick you'll love the Cajun seasoned one. I really like the food here. They have great burgers and good ice cream but our visit tonight was not ideal. They were two young men working and it was obvious that they do not enjoy their jobs. The shorter guy kept yelling to the other guy to "get out here". When my daughter took her burger back because they had forgotten the cheese instead of helping her the shorter guy yelled for the other to come help her even though he wasn't doing anything. I noticed that one of them had an earbud in his ear. No wonder he didn't have anything to say and didn't thank my husband when he put a generous tip in the tip jar.
