This quaint little breakfast spot won't disappoint you. The atmosphere is homey, the service was great! We were seated almost immediately and were served coffee and water within minutes of sitting down. We ordered and had hot, fresh food within 15 minutes of placing our order. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

Was looking for a good local breakfast place and this place did not disappoint! Went on a cold rainy morning but it was warm and cozy inside. We seated ourselves in a booth and our server came over right away. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered omelets and split the berry pancakes. The food was very good. Those pancakes were unbelievably amazing! You have to try them. Coffee was great. Even the water was delicious! Prices were not bad at all. Service exceptional. Highly recommend! Next time I will try lunch there!

$19 plus a $5 tip, for one pancake, coffee, 3 strips bacon and 2 sausage patties.

I found myself with a couple extra hours in the morning in Jackson, so I decided to have breakfast at The wooden spoon. The breakfast was tasty. I had a specialty try Berry pancake which was a single pancake with lots of berries in it. The waitress gave me an extra syrup for the end of the breakfast which get the spot. I also ordered a side order of bacon and a side order of sausage. Maybe I should have passed on these. Although the bacon was crispy and the sausage was cooked just right. I thought that charging about $5 for three pieces of bacon and $5 two sausage Patty's was a little outrageous. It was a nice breakfast and the service was good, it took half an hour before it was served, and I probably wouldn't order bacon and sausage next time.

Wooden spoon is a quaint country diner with great food and attentive staff. The omelet ingredients taste very fresh, and the hash browns are perfect. Men's room is clean but lacks a mirror. Decor and general vibe is nice but could use some background music so it doesn't feel like everyone in the restaurant can hear you. Will stop by again for breakfast in the future.

Wow, what great friendly service. We just moved to Michigan and wanted breakfast at a local spot. This place didn't disappoint. They even had fancy creamer. Good food and we even bought a cinnamon roll to go. Yummy! I highly recommend.

Decent little place off of King Road. The omelette was good and so were the hashbrowns. Disappointed that the omelette didn't come with the hashbrowns though. Still, the food and service were good and I would recommend this place for breakfast.

First time here yesterday and was pretty impressed. All the comfort of a small town eatery. Good food, great customer service. Will return!

I left hungry every time. Even tried ordering the hungry man french toast and still left hungry. The food is good but portions are small.

Upon arriving in the small town of Concord (population 1,200) after the first 11 miles, we were thrilled to see the breakfast cafe on Main Street open for business. My wife and I have been loyal customers of this little cafe when bike riding through Concord over the past 10 years. During that period, it was known by two other names: the Silver Spoon Cafe and the Concord Cafe. Unfortunately, like so many small restaurants, this eatery closed its doors during the year of the pandemic. Riding up today, we noticed the familiar purple awning on Main Street still proclaims "The Concord Cafe". However, after changing hands and getting an interior facelift, it re-opened 30 days ago (May of 2021) as Mel's Place! After walking in the door, we quickly met the new owner Mel...short for Melinda. We enjoyed chatting with her about the renovation she did in exposing the hundred year-old brick in the minimalist and spotless dining room. We then got down to business ordering a pair of Veggie Omelettes with sliced tomatoes and raisin toast while nursing our fresh brewed cups of hot coffee. Our breakfasts at Mel's were spectacular...just like they had been over the years when we had patronized this small business under previous owners. For this Yelper, a delicious breakfast halfway through a 22-mile bike ride is a great motivator. Based on the excellent quality food and friendly small-town service, I expect Mel's Place to quickly build a solid reputation among the many recreational bikers that frequent the Falling Waters Trail. Five stars all day long.

The Sandbar Cafe was a new spot that we hadn't tried yet, and after perusing the menu, we decided to make that our stop for lunch. The idea of a soup/salad/sandwich combo in some permutation of those choices was the perfect thing. I decided to go really wild and try the quiche of the day, a leek and bleu cheese quiche, as well as a bowl of the sweet pepper soup. With both items warmed up, it was just the thing to chase the chill in the air away. If the stuffed sweet pepper soup is on the menu when you visit, order it with confidence. It was the perfect balance of a little sweet a tiny touch of heat, and hearty enough to be filling. The quiche wasn't my favorite (I think I'm just too partial to a quiche Lorraine to be adventurous with other ones), but it was still good. Served with a cookie on the side, it was a filling and delicious meal. The owner was friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for the menu and chit-chatting with us as we ate that day. At the end of the meal, she even offered to recycle my Diet Coke can from lunch that day -- the eco-friendly aspect definitely gave the place a boost in my mind! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the lake, and another helping of that sweet pepper soup!

I scoured the web for the best sounding wrap I could find and finally set my sights on Grand River Brewery. I ordered a Santa Fe wrap to-go, got there before it was even ready and was home to eat it within 5 minutes. To my dismay they had left the spicy ranch off the wrap. It was dry and unpleasant and that was an unfortunate tell of what was to come. It was accompanied by an odd tasting pickle, which particularly hurt my heart because I am a woman who loves a good pickle. This next part was especially jarring because the ambiance of the restaurant really seemed like they would have good fries, I'm sure they would be good fresh, but the ones I found inside my to-go box were not that. Sad, hard, dry fries that tasted and felt like they had been sitting out for hours. Truly disappointing. In summary, twas certainly a mistake to treat myself to this TWENTY ONE dollar meal that didn't even include a drink...21 dollars for a horrible wrap, horrible fries and a weird pickle. For that price I was really expecting the best wrap I've ever had, I could not have been more let down. My Venmo is grace-shoemaker- if you're feeling sympathetic to my experience. Thanks for tuning into my blog.
