It was my first time going to Aesthetics Hawaii and I'm so glad I did! Dr. Yew and his team are truly amazing and knowledgeable. Dr yew was supposed to be the best.. when I had to get Botox done I told him that I had some problems with my eye saggy and also headache problems if there was too much in my forehead. So Dr. yew went ahead and did it all and for three months I was very uncomfortable my eye was sagged on my side. I went back to him. He said there was nothing he could do to fix it. I would think that after all the years of experience that Dr. Yew would have either not done it or take it another route, but he did not take anything. I said into consideration. I have been suffering from daily chronic daily migraine and TMJ for a few years, and I've tried nearly everything at this point (except for Botox). Anyone who deals with migraines knows that having a variety of remedies is crucial. I came to Dr Yew's office with my wife. His practice is located on the 20th floor of the Ala Moana Medical building. The parking was free, the building is right across from Genki Sushi. First the waiting area. Really clean and modern, very functional. We were promptly offered a refreshment, which was a really nice touch. The lady behind the front desk was super nice. She made us truly feel welcome, unlike some of the other beauty related businesses I dealt with in the past. I liked the glass divider wall with tropical leaves etched in the glass. Made the place look really upscale and aesthetically pleasing. Then we went to the photo room, where my wife was photographed before the treatment by Dr. Yew assistant, who also was super nice and pleasant to talk to. Dr Yew's treatment room was welcoming, cozy, and modern looking. Dr. Yew was very professional and very through in explaining the procedure. What I really liked about him is that he talked my wife out of getting a treatment that she didn't really need instead of doing it just to collect the fees. This is my go to place in Hawaii! He is the best of the best, not just in Hawaii but in the US. I moved to Hawaii from NYC and was a little hesitant to try anyone for botox and fillers and didn't know if I would like the results. He takes two hours with new consults since he really explains how you should approach botox and fillers and how you should not overdo it. I always feared how unsustainable the whole thing was since they are expensive and the results don't last long. He explained how I could approach it and how other doctors take your money even if you don't need the procedures and can be borderline overdoing it. Dr. Yew is world-class. I've been going to him for Botox & filler for a few years with fantastic results. I'm 56, Asian, and my desire is to age gracefully & appropriately - just want to continue looking the best I can for my age. I sure don't want to look like I'm 20. Dr. Yew has the same philosophy. My results have always been subtle yet striking. People have no idea that I've had anything done. They just remark on how rested & youthful I look. I've had darkish undereye bags/tear troughs for as long as I can remember, and they've gotten worse as the aging process has made my face lose volume. They made me look tired no matter how rested I was. Concealer has been my mainstay for years, but it's never really completely taken care of the fatigued look. I was seriously considering an undereye blepharoplasty in the near future. But I thought I would see what Dr. Yew could do for the time being. During my appointment yesterday, Dr. Yew thoughtfully counseled me on expectations rather than promising me the moon. He is so honest and ethical. He discouraged me from using the new filler Voluma since I wasn't yet a candidate. It's more expensive, so he could've just made a bundle off of me. Instead, he very carefully & artfully administered Perlane, a less-expensive filler, to volumize my cheeks right under the tear troughs. After the injection, I could immediately see that the troughs were much less noticeable. And today - gasp! The tear troughs have filled in! It's an unexpected miracle, as Dr. Yew told me not to expect them to completely go away. First time in 25years I haven't used concealer under my eyes!! Thank you Dr. Yew. To say that I'm pleased with the results would be a major understatement. I'm so happy and relieved that I won't need surgery as long as Dr. Yew can work his magic. Dr. Yew is an artist and totally professional. He knows what he's doing and he know exactly how to relay it to you so that everyone is on the same page. I've had fillers before... this was the best experience by far! With one syringe, he was able to create a more youthful appearance with 4 small injections! The results were dramatic and immediate. The explanation was thorough and very very helpful. No pain! I guess I really appreciate this experience because before I had lots of bruising, about a dozen injections in one sitting and still had to go back for more because the appearance was bumpy! Dr. Yew is passionate about his practice. He refers to botox and fillers as an art when it comes to enhancing the face. He is very honest and ensures that you have an understanding that botox/fillers cannot stop the aging process but slow it down. I first went to Dr Yew last year to have my under eye fillers but when he checked my under eyes he told me the cons of having under eye fillers. I really like his honesty, he is not like any other Aesthetic doctors who is just after your money. As the check up goes he ask me if I am having headaches specially at night, if i do experience lower jaw pain and clenching. At first I wasn't sure why he was asking those questions, it turns out he noticed that I might have TMJ. which I actually do! i have been suffering for TMJ for such a long time and I did not know that botox can actually help my TMJ pain. I was so relieve after i had my first botox. No more terrible headache, I can sleep good at night. no more grinding and clenching. I've been going to Dr. Yew routinely for the last 5 years. And it's always been an amazing experience. All of his staff is friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable. Dr. Yew takes his time to find out what you're trying to ultimately accomplish with your cosmetic procedures and walks you through how to get to your goals. At every appointment, I'm asked how I feel about my previous procedure and how effective it was, the current procedure is discussed, pictures are taken to document results, and detailed notes are also completed. There's a few things that I think separates Aesthetics Hawaii from other offices that I've been to, and the first would be how much they care about you as a patient. Another thing that keeps me coming back to Aesthetics Hawaii are their technics on how they give injections, because it greatly minimizes pain. I hate needles and my threshold for pain is pretty low but their calming and distraction methods make it a pleasant experience. Sometimes I can't feel the needle at all.
