Impressed after my first visit. Greeted warmly upon my arrival. Staff very friendly and gracious. Offered me water immediately. Booked with Elizabeth for a 60 minute customized facial. The facial included a short scalp massage and very relaxing massage of the neck, shoulders, arms and hands. Atmosphere if treatment room very serene. Music perfect. Will consider making another appt. Price is a little higher than some other spas but you get the extra massage. Changing area and overall room a little small but the overall square footage of the spa is relatively smaller than others. It was funny, I liked the velcro-topped towel wrap that I changed into but the first one was extremely large for me. A little inconvenient to have the restrooms outside of the facility but staff very graciously directs you and even offers you paper towels since the building provides only air dryers. Nice touch. Free parking available nearby at Whole Foods, the Consolidated Theatres lot, and the lot behind Merriman's. Nowadays many spas don't have convenient free parking. read more

I've been coming here for several years now and genuinely love the staff and location. They offer a wide variety of services - my favorite is the lymphatic massage. It's a complete experience, and definitely not one to be rushed. They also offer a variety of facials which I have had to help treat melasma and general skin texture. My favorite provider was Dr. Tanabe but she has since moved on and I have been working with Dr. Arakaki. Excellent place for Hydrafacials! The space is a hidden gem on the second floor of a building on Kamakee. Decided to treat myself to a Hydrafacial because I recently had an allergic reaction and my face got all dry and blotchy. Annie was incredible - she was so sweet, genuinely concerned about my skin history, and extremely knowledgeable! Sitting down and contemplating shopping? There is shops nearby at Ward or better yet, get your dealio on and head to Nordstrom Rack. Is your honey with you and he doesn't know what to do? He can either go to the gym across the street (if he has membership) or run around Ala Moana while you get your hair done. After you are prettied up and you both want to watch the latest movie? Then, my goodness--you are near Ward 16! Oh, I can go on and on and on about what is surrounding this little ole' beauty spa, however, I'll brag about Sheryl Gibo and her mad stylin' skills. I've been going to her since she worked at Salon Blanc and when she notified me that she'll be relocating while I was at training in Baltimore. I noted it down and kept her business card. When I returned in April, I made an appointment with her because I wanted to take out my highlights and trim my hair. I was ever so happy to see her! Sheryl is always friendly and gives the best advice for my hair. Her scalp and neck massage is the BEST and if I could-I would pay just for her scalp and neck massage in between my hair sessions! BUT that is another service from Reneux Med and Day Spa, which I need to check out because if I am getting my hair and brows done here-I might as well go for the entire treatment, yes? But, back to Sheryl. Her skills is over and beyond. Her prices are reasonable and she is always accommodating. She will never let you walk out of there with a hairstyle that doesn't compliment you. Reneux Spa is located in the same building as Bamboo Sky -- upstairs on the 2nd floor. There is a private parking lot where you pay about $1/hour -- very reasonable! I started coming to Reneux for my laser treatments. From my very first appointment for my consultation, I instantly felt comfortable with the staff. I met with the doctor the first time and she did a very thorough consultation and explained the entire process. They also had a few paying plan options since most of their treatments require about 5-6 visits. I would go to see Gayle on Saturdays and she was so nice and professional! We would talk throughout the majority of the treatment to try to get my mind off of the pain-- they say its like a rubber band snapping on you... but certain places are a little more sore than that! They would use the ice roller to help numb the area-- which helped a lot! Sometimes the ice roller would hurt more than the treatment itself since it was so cold!! They offer a ton of services and are truly the best at what they do. I went in today for my second session of laser hair removal, and I was floored by how excellent the experience was. The facilities are clean and bright, and the atmosphere is relaxing and mellow. The receptionist offers you a beverage upon arrival, and is very sweet and welcoming. There are also nurses and medical doctors on staff, so you know that things are being done with the highest level of quality. Noreen was my technician, and she was so thoughtful, gentle, and professional throughout the session. She asked multiple times if I was ok and made sure to thoroughly go over the pre- and post-procedure care with me. As far as the quality of the laser hair removal, I am absolutely satisfied with the results! There is a significant decrease in the thickness and quantity of hair, and that was just after my first session. (Will update this review later with the results of my second session.) As far as how it felt in terms of pain, it wasn't painful, per se, just more uncomfortable. I had the treatment done on my upper lip and bikini area. The upper lip was not painful at all, just felt like a small, gentle zap. The bikini area was a bit more sensitive, but it felt more like a pinching pain than a stabbing type of pain that I had felt when I first got laser hair removal done almost 10 years ago. The technology has definitely improved! Noreen also used a small cooling tube that acted as a fan while she was lasering...that also made a difference in terms of making it more comfortable. The whole process from when I walked in to when I walked out was about an hour - this included signing in and filling out forms, the treatment itself, and creating my next appointment. Ez-pz! The services are not cheap, but I do not mind paying for quality services. Also, if you pay $10 annually for a membership, you receive discounts and special offers. Totally worth it! Parking is in the lot next to the building, $2 per hour for up to three hours. read more

I've had several Botox and filler procedures performed by Dr. Arakaki and Dr. Tanabe over the years and have been VERY happy with the results every time! The level of care and expertise they provide is excellent and I always trust that they understand my goals and what it will take to achieve them in a reasonable cost-efficient way. I was nervous before my first procedure but quickly felt relaxed after Dr. Arakaki, who is very easy-going, addressed all of my questions and concerns. All i have to say is that I'm a RENEUX customer for life! you can't get much better than Reneux! There are a lot of other places linked to living social, play hawaii, and groupon that offer a cheap deal, but when it comes to serious work with laser removal, I choose RENEUX for their TOP QUALITY over anything else. I've always stuck to waxing when it comes to hair removal, but I thought about how costly and time consuming it would be in the long run. I began to consider laser hair removal as an option, but was always hesitant about the cost and the pain. Reneux offers many monthly specials (which is great when you're a bit unsure of the commitment and the cost) on various treatments they offer, so I decided to finally go for it. They always offer consultation to talk one on one about the procedure and any questions or concerns you may have before proceeding. I'd previously gone to Reneux for my consultation for latisse and the staff was very friendly, knowledgable, and professional so I already knew I would be in good hands. Waxing was no problem, but this was my first time with the laser, so i was a bit hesitant at first. All of the laser technicians are registered nurses and that definitely put me at ease. I've been going to Gayle for my sessions and she's absolutely wonderful! She's so sweet and she makes sure that the settings are comfortable for you. Since my favorite massage therapist left San Francisco to move to Honolulu, I have been crying for the past two years. My loss is your gain! Kathy Lundquist is amazing. She is so skilled and intuitive and she knows just how far to take you. On my recent trip to Hawaii, I scheduled an hour and a half with my favorite therapist at the lovely Reneux Spa. Hidden away near Ward center, it is a little retreat. I was greeted warmly by Jen at the front desk and shown where I could take a long steamy shower (sauna also available). After washing away my cares, I changed into a spa robe and had some water in the meditation room while I waited for my massage. Shortly I was greeted by Kathy. She took me in the massage room and check in with me about my body. What did I need today? Unfortunately, I had an allergic reaction to something a couple of days earlier and had a migraine for 2 days. Kathy worked that migraine out of my system. Gently and systematically, I felt better and better as the massage went on. I would not just let anyone massage me with a migraine as that can make it worse. I don't worry a bit with Kathy. She is such a pro. She really understands the body and how to work to make your massage as effective as possible. Thanks to Kathy, I was able to resume my vacation the next morning feeling like a human being again. Thanks Kathy for a wonderful massage. There is parking available at the lot right next to the building but you MUST pay. If not you will end up with a bright baby blue envelope on your windshield. What's $1/hour it's better than getting a ticket which can be $100 who knows. I remember one day I paid for my parking and I saw majority of the cars in the lot with the blue envelopes on their windshields thank goodness I paid. You never know when the parking police will show up. The workers here are so friendly and kind, as soon as you walk in they greet you with a nice warm welcoming smile. The service here is wonderful and pleasant. The spa is very clean. My favorite hair stylist moved to this spa so of course I will follow her. I can't go to anyone else but Sheryl Gibo to cut, color and style my hair. read more

Many years ago I went here for melasma treatment and had a great experience. I've referred people here since and when I was looking at anti aging treatments, it was first on my list. I had a free consult with Dr Tanabe and she seemed knowledgeable and compassionate. I was excited and agreed to purchase the annual membership at the end of my visit - not a huge cost. After sitting with my feelings I intuitively felt I should get a second opinion and ended up going with another doctor. Nothing negative about Dr Tanabe, just felt like my concerns were more assuaged elsewhere, and that the other doctor I saw had a more conservative approach, which my anxiety needed. So, I called Reneux to see if they might be able to refund me the membership cost ($25) and was told it is not refundable. I understood and was ok with it, but the more I thought about it, it sorta just left a bad taste in my mouth, especially as I've referred people here, I know that they've made much more money off having me as a client that views them in a glowing way than they made off the membership fee. Anyway, I'd rate between a 3 and a 4 but a 4 doesn't feel quite right cause I dunno.. I just think that's kinda lame not to refund. I had all intentions of getting treatments there, and just ended up feeling more comfortable elsewhere. Anyway! NEED BOTOX? Make this NUMBER 1!!! Its relaxing, easy to find, easy to park for one dollar, and has complete services. Right across Nordstrom Rack and above PHUKET THAI. Dr Irene is the BOTOX master. Hard to find a real Dr. in a spa setting if your not in ASIA somewhere, but RENEUX does just that. And she has really perfected her technique with the Botox. Anatomical charting of forhead muscles is PERFECT, is EXTREMELY detailed in locating each and every location, has a PAIN-FREE injection technique using tiny painfree needles, and uses ONLY the FRESHEST Botox to insure you get the longest lasting, most uniform result you can ask for. I have had many different Botox. Some work better, some not, some you are in and out in 10 minutes but then your face looks like it later....I have paid big money at times....but can anyone say SPOCK from Star Trek? . Right.... price does not determine result in botox....and oh BTW....its YOUR FACE? hello...... All I want is smooth. and trust me....when I have lines, mine are many, very very deep like the grand canyons rivers, and run all the way across. Kind of Alienish....almost. I need way more...but hey...botox makes the most difference when done perfectly....and that she does do perfectly. I got the worst Swedish/Sports massage here. I paid over $130 for a 90-minute massage by a therapist. She told me she is new to the spa scene. Because of her inexperience, she did not work out any of my sore spots. She also had really rough finger(s) that felt like it was scratching my skin. The receptionist gave me a cup of tea and a cold towel while I was filling out my form. The facilities are nice, though I did not use them because I had errands to run afterwards. There is a shower in the bathroom, and a sauna. They have a private lot where you have to pay for parking, but the receptionist told me to park across the street for free at Nordstrom Rack. Their staff is nothing short of amazing! Everyone is so friendly and happy to assist you with any questions or concerns; not to mention a lot of them are clients themselves to several of the available treatments and can tell you first hand of their satisfaction with the results! I've been going for their laser hair removal treatments and can say that I'm really happy with my results. I was hesitant at first because I have sensative skin (esp with heat) but the staff of registered nurses and doctors helped put my mind at ease. During the consultation we talked about my worries and we started on the lowest laser setting and even with that my results from one session were beyond my expectations. I always get asked questions of pain level and I have to admit it's uncomfortable at some parts but I wouldn't say painful. If you are worried, they offer numbing cream & ice therapy to help and you can always ask them to slow down, pause, or lower the laser level. It's whatever you are comfortable with. If anyone is even thinking about doing laser hair removal...my vote is def do it and pick Reneux. You will be thrilled with the professionalism of the staff, the effectiveness of the treatment, and the benefits of never ever having to worry about shaving, waxing, plucking, or whatever again. I also am a BIG fan of their Skinceuticals products. I use their Sheer Physical UV Defense Sunscreen every single day and I love love love how light-weight it is and it's only $30! I recommend this product to everyone. It's like wearing nothing but having sun protection all day! Another must-have is their Phloretin CF syrum! If there is only one product you use on your face PLEASE pick this! It's a corrective/preventative antioxident topical treatment. I'm not into skin care much until I started using this. In a matter of a week I noticed a difference in my skin's texture, & moisture balance. I've got major sun damage due to years of swimming but this really helps manage my sun spots as well as protects my skin even more while infusing Vitamin C. Bottom Line: I LOVE RENEUX!!!! I've returned for my 7th visit! Wow, and more to come! I've had more Dyspot on my forehead, touch up with additional fillers, two chemical peels, and a micro peeling yesterday. I think that I'm becoming addicted to all of the wonderful treatments! The first chemical peel did minimal peeling. The second did its job and peeled for about a week. I could see that the darkness of the melasma had lightened a bit. I will probably need about two more treatments. Yesterday I had the micro needling. It's supposed to help with the texture of my complexion. Today, my skin is still reddened like being badly sunburned. I don't have any illusions of having a beautiful, flawless complexion. I've had a lifetime of struggle with oily skin with enlarged pores, some acne, and now with Melasma. I am only hoping to wear less makeup to cover the Melasma and to keep up with fillers for the marionette lines. I am sure that I'll find it here! read more
