Great 80's themed bar! 80s music and themed drinks. And even a Farrah Fawcett poster - the Farrah Fawcett poster!!! KK and Chris were very gracious bartenders. Lemon drops to start, old fashioned for the old man, and several martinis for the ladies Great atmosphere and great drinks!

We stopped in on a Saturday around 2 pm. There were only three people at the bar and that was perfect in my opinion. The bar tender said that it does get busy later in the day. The bar tender was super friendly, drinks we really good, bathrooms were clean so we will for sure go back when in the neighborhood.

The lounge is located on the rooftop of the Hyatt Place in downtown Knoxville, and you can take the elevator straight up. There's a beautiful indoor space with large glass windows, stylish decor, and a full bar. The indoor bar area was pretty busy when I visited, but surprisingly, the rooftop patio wasn't crowded at all. I opted to have a server take care of me outside, and it was such a relaxing atmosphere. The outdoor space was definitely the highlight for me! There's plenty of seating, including high-top tables and chairs, lounge seating, and tables along the ledge. My favorite spot was one of the tables right by the edge facing the view. You get a beautiful look at downtown Knoxville with the mountains in the distance, and I loved that I could enjoy the view without the patio feeling packed. I ordered the Smoky Mountain Sunset, made with gin, mint, prickly pear, and yuzu soda. It was light, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted on a warm summer evening. Sipping a drink called the Smoky Mountain Sunset while actually looking out toward the mountains felt pretty fitting! If you're looking for a rooftop in downtown Knoxville to grab a cocktail, enjoy the weather, and take in the mountain views, Five Thirty Lounge is definitely worth a stop. I'd especially recommend going on a clear evening and grabbing one of the tables along the ledge if you can!

In a bar that is using moving quick and it was 5pm? As I said, not a problem just funny. Kyla was our waitress and was great. Friendly and very helpful in giving us information on two restaurants we were considering. Prices weren't bad considering it's a roof top bar with a great view.

It appears you can enter either from the interior door opposite The Oliver Royale Restaurant or from the outside. I never saw the exterior entrance but have heard there's no sign, just a red light above a door. I am not sure how the whole password thing works or where to get it.... I just know the person I was with had it. We sat at the bar and the ambiance is really intimate. I have read now after being home that I guess they hide drink recipes in some of the books? I am not sure if that is true or not. If you can get a seat at the bar, it's so fun. Trey was great, as were the ladies! Trey puts on a little show with each drink he crafts. The drinks are ridiculously good. I would not be able to choose a favorite. I have no clue what the bill damage was, but I can say that between the both of us, we had every drink on the menu. Now I need to find reasons to go back to Knoxville just to go to the Peter Kern Library!

When we walked in, she glared at us as if we had interrupted something. She didn't greet us, didn't ask what we'd like to try, only gave us one word answers to any question that we asked. Never once smiled or tried to engage us. My friend was so frustrated with trying to get information from her that he stood up and almost walked out. I kept trying to engage her and even complemented her cute dress. Nothing. Stone face. I wanted to try the amaro flight and asked for it. She prepared it, set it in front of me, and said "so you'll want to close out now?" I told her "yes, that would be great, when I'm finished with my tasting". She proceeded to lean up against the bar with her back to us and didn't say another word. I had to get up and walk to the register, and when she finally turned around, I asked her "have we done something to upset you?" She said "no, why?" I said "because you seem REALLY annoyed that we're here". Her only response was to turn the register screen around and tell me the total. I'm so sad about this because I really wanted to taste other items and get a cocktail, but she was SO unpleasant and we felt SO unwelcome., Seeing all of the other great reviews, I can only imagine that they were with other people. I wish those other bartenders had been there.

They sell bottles of varying sizes at the bar and also at other places around town, including Total Wine. We love that they offer sampler flights with different liquors and also different size pours. They give you a tray with a sheet that describes the flavor profile for each offering. We also were given slushy samples and a customized gin sample, mixed with another shot to sip. We ordered slushies to enjoy on the patio and a flight with Hi Rye Whiskey, Ginferous Gin (favorite!), Uproot Gin, and Barrel Rested Cacoa Liqueur. I can't believe the differing flavors they can produce within the same type of booze. Masterful! The bartenders are friendly and so dang knowledgable. We purchased a bottle of Ginferous Gin and have kept the party going at home. Can't wait to go back! What a cool spot.

The atmosphere alone makes it feel like a little escape. The service was good, and my friend and I both really enjoyed our cocktails and entrées--they were definitely the highlight of the meal. We weren't huge fans of the appetizers we tried, but we found out they're leaving the menu soon anyway, so that made sense. I wasn't blown away and felt like the flavors were lackluster. The pasta was an alright red sauce, flavors could've been a bit more complex and boldly fresh. The Arancini tasted like a bland mushy hushpuppy in marinara. The best dish was the salmon, if I had to recommend anything! Super flaky with a crispy fish, paired nicely with the salad and potatoes. Service itself was good and the drinks were just okay. I like that they have many cocktail options to choose from, but my drink was honestly straight juice. As someone who's lightweight, I was shocked to find that the portions for drinks for the little amount of alcohol for $15 is a bit absurd (I got the st Richard ride). I'd only come once for the ambiance but it's pretty disappointing for what you pay. 6.5/10
