I am sooo glad Dr. Tran now opened a office in OC! I used to go her El Monte's office whenever I need an adjustment. With aging, I periodically have hip problems, and normally it is unpredictable when it comes, how long it last and how painful it is. So, there are times I waited to see if the pain would go again with stretching, and over counter medication because it is a far drive to Dr. Tran's office in El Monte. That helps sometimes but the pain never really goes away until weeks later. But as soon as Dr. Tran adjusts me with her soft voice, firming hands, and unhesitating movements, the pain would go away, and I can immediately walk freely! It is amazing and it works every time. I can not thank Dr tran enough for all her help especially in short noticed. I was seeing another chiropractor in San Marino that some of my coworkers referred me to. After I gave birth to my first child, I had really bad back pain, shoulder tension and wrist ache that I kept emphasizing to my chiropractor at the time. I'm a massage therapist, mother and have a bad back. I should get more bodywork done, but don't always have the time. I'm a former patient of Dr. G. She no longer has an office here. She really helped me a lot. During the time I was with her, the other staff was great as well. I forget their names, but the guy who helped assist with cryotherapy and TENS unit was friendly and professional. The receptionists were excellent about reminding me of my appointments. While waiting in the lobby for my appointments, sometimes I'd see Dr. J assisting patients of his in the lobby before they leave. He would tell them about stretches they should do or could do. He would talk about the muscles and tendons in a way the patient can understand. I was impressed. When my massage clients look mal-aligned, I always tell them to go to Fountain Valley Chiropractic and see Dr. J. I don't know if any of them have, but that's how much the office impressed me. I have been coming to this office for over 15 years, and I have to say that Dr. Jay is the BEST chiropractor I have ever been to. I had seen others before I found him, and his adjustments, advice & caring are unparalleled. I tried a "free visit" at a Chiropractic chain which sounded like a great deal i.e. You pay one monthly fee and can come as often as you like, but the doctor spent very little time with me, did not ask about my activities, did a super fast adjustment and was off to the next patient. You did not get a private room or any individualized care. By contrast, Dr. Jay goes above and beyond - especially if he has some extra time to spend with you due to cancellations or openings on his schedule. He asks you about your exercises and stretching, showing you how to work on problem areas. He also does some light massage on painful areas during his treatment. I just wish he could be cloned so that there would be more openings on his schedule! read more

Personally I must say that as a Chiropractor Dr. Jay is very good but has anyone else out there had sexual banter with him and has anyone else out there had him take there pants down most of the way down their buttock for him to adjust and massage? Undo your bra for adjustment? Button your pants up in a sexual manner or has he buttoned up anyone else's pants in a very sexual way when he was finished? Has he ever spoken to anyone else out there about his personal life and how he has issue's with his girlfriend in their bedroom beside me and one other patient that I know of ? Has he ever had primed or perused any other female patients over time and made feel safe and secure and then ended up having sex with you? If so please come forward and report this doctor. Even if it was consensual it is still wrong and against the law and I am wondering how many other women he has done this too? I was researching for a chiropractor near the area and I am so happy I came across Dr. Jay! I was suffering from shoulder/neck pain and he was able to have me feeling better within the next couple hours. He even squeezed my follow up appointment in (changing his schedule to accommodate me) because he knew I was going to leaving for a trip. Incredibly kind gesture. As a first time patient I felt incredibly welcomed and taken care of. He also is NOT one of those chiropractors that try to sell you "packages" (come for 5 visits). I have been a patient of Dr. Jay Aschenberg for over 10 years and I highly recommend him! He is genuinely concerned for his patients well-being and he offers many suggestions to help his patients improve their health - stretches, preventative actions, etc. He provides the highest level of patient care - from ease of making appointments, friendly staff, his mastery of chiropractic techniques, and general wellness advice. One of his massage therapists, Nalaina Morgan, is also wonderful! I went to her for Active Release Technique (ART) massage and it really gave me some relief for an ongoing neck problem. I have heard great reports about his other massage therapist, but have not used her yet. All-in-all, Dr. Jay's office is NOT the usual chiropractic office where they try to put you on a 'plan' and tell you they need to see you 2 or 3 times a week, sell you expensive supplements, provide treatments that are not covered by most insurance plans, etc. Dr. Jay's goal is to help you get better and to live pain free! read more

I drive fifty miles each way to see Dr. Jay. I have seen him for years and gone to many other chiropractors in Redondo and Torrance but couldn't find anyone who got the adjustments right. I went to a chiropractor in Torrance who treats local athletes who live in Manhattan Beach and PV but he only does one adjustment per visit and he couldn't adjust my neck or lower back properly. What's more he didn't even seem familiar with the adjustments that Dr. Jay performs! I moved back east and saw several chiropractors there who were very well known but were only OK. I also highly recommend Dr. Jay (Aschenberg). I found him to be extremely competent, helpful and sincere. I was in daily agony from my hip being slightly out of place. His adjustment immediately relieved the pain, seriously. He cautioned me that I might be "sore", turns out I was not (or maybe didn't even notice it because I am no longer in pain as I have been for months). I have tried 3 other local chiropractors, and none are anywhere near as competent as Dr. Jay. Furthermore, from a business perspective, I greatly appreciated that his office did NOT make me watch those stupid videos on how "Chiropractice is real medicine" (heck, I'm there, I'm already sold, what a waste of my time!), and I also was so pleased that they don't try to do the standard "upsell" the others do ("Pay me $1200 in advance to schedule the next round of sessions.") He also did not push what I call the "gimmicks", new "wonder machines", vibrators, muscle exciters, etc. All I wanted was good, honest adjustments, which is what I received, thankfully. Although, I note, I'm sure he offers whatever technology one wants, I just did not want all the hype, just the basics. He also provided me with some ingenious simple exercises and stretches that will likely help me further. (Consistent with his professional business philosophy of actually trying to make you better, so you do NOT have to come back, as opposed to what I've found is the contrary philosophy of other chiropractors with less scruples). In conclusion, I found Dr. Jay to have traditional medical expertise and professionalism. He and his office exceeded my expectations. That's what it takes to get 5 stars from me. read more

I recently saw Dr. Jay for lower back pain. My first visit was helpful and I had less pain when I left, I had told him that I get frequent migraines during that visit. When I saw him a few days later after the treatment which helped my lower back he then put a menthol rub on my back, when I was there, it didn't bother me nor did I notice it was menthal(due to the open space). Shortly after leaving it smelled like a stink bomb went off in my car, even though I rushed home and washed it off I got as sever intractable migraine which lasted 4 days later required a emergency room visit to get rid of it. You should think twice if you have a migraine problem as he knows nothing about them (he should for a Dr. that works on backs and necks). read more

Highest recommendations for Dr. Pamela Galambos (Dr. G). I wrenched my back lifting something I thought was well within my means. The next day I could hardly move and couldn't stand up straight. Not only does Dr. Jay take care of my backaches and pains, but he is a sound board for me mentally.
