Our roof needed repairing but it didn't need to be replaced. The top of our roof is flat and if we…read moreget water in our house, it comes from that flat roof. The company who'd replaced our roof didn't replace the flat part. They said it didn't need to be replaced. It was a rainy day when they collected the check. As soon as they were gone, our family room ceiling opened up and gallons of water poured in. The roofing company agreed to replace the flat roof but they did a sloppy job. I had someone on my roof who was screening off areas where critters could access our attic and they told me that flat roof needed to be replaced, sooner than later. I contacted several companies recommended by people on the Nextdoor app. One company came out to give me a quote but never returned my calls. Another company told me they were only doing roof replacements. I appreciated their honesty. I was very specific when I called roofing companies; I didn't need a new roof. One guy came out and told me he could contact my insurance company and tell them my roof had been damaged from a storm. We'd not had any damage to our roof from storms and that's bordering on insurance fraud. I decided to check out Yelp recommendations and saw that Easton had a lot of good reviews. When I called, they were very nice and told me they'd send someone out. The guys from Easton were there on time and they gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable so I called to schedule the repair. The workers were very nice, professional, timely and they were there everyday until it was finished. They cleaned up after the repair so I wasn't finding random pieces of roofing material. Everyone, from the woman who answered the phone to the guys who did the repair was very nice and the whole process was seamless. Easton completed the repair and after years of checking ceilings, I can finally relax. Another contractor I'd used to remodel our house often needed access to the roof. I didn't ask him to check the flat roof but while he was up there, he wanted to check it out. He assured me they'd done a very good job and then asked for their info so he'd have the name of a good roofing company if one of his clients was looking to replace their roof. When an outstanding contractor is impressed with the work done by another company and asking for the company's info, that says a lot. If we have to replace our roof, we'll definitely use Easton and if anyone needs a roof replacement or repair, I highly recommend them. They've earned those 5 star reviews.

A lot of times, when you show contrctors an issue, they try to convince you to spend far more than you need to. This company didn't do that. So, A+ for honesty. And A+ for getting my leak to stop leaking.

We were fortunate to find Amerispec through our realtor referral, and because coincidentally this inspector (Garrison) had actually been to this particular house a week before. It worked out well that he had been there and had the other buyer back out so we could ask him anything about what he found and really dig into it. Garrison was quick to get to work, to double check everything and make recommendations of all kinds. While we love the house, we tried to keep an objective mind and waited for any huge red flags. Luckily, despite the age of this house, Garrison gave us a report back that didn't give us any cause for alarm and we're closing later this month. He was very helpful, very thorough, and well priced. Oh and guess what? RIGHT ON TIME! That's big for me, and he was as punctual as he could be. Our roofing contractor/inspector on the other hand showed up two hours late. I would highly recommend Amerispec and Garrison whether you've been down the house buying road or not!

We were first time home buyers in November 2013. We followed our realtor's lead on inspection…read morecompanies. We had GLI do the inspection, and my first impression was quite positive. It felt like they were thorough. They let my husband follow them throughout so he could see the issues. They took lots of pictures, provided a thorough report, etc. The only major issue they noted was roof damage and radon. We had the radon fixed and then got a second opinion on the roof (second opinion said no need to replace yet...felt inspectors were being very cautious in concerns but roof still had many years in it). They reviewed our chimneys/fireboxes and noted a small issues but nothing major. So initially, I would recommend this company. Fast forward to a few months later when we are living in the house. It's winter, it's cold and drafty, we want to use our two fireplaces. We call a reputable chimney inspection company. They inform us that one of our chimneys is not built to code (the chimney flue is too close to wood, insulation, and roof flashing which presents fire risk). We also discovered that our second fireplace hearth was falling away from the wall resulting in a .5-1 inch gap between hearth and wall. Through this hole, we could see straight into the studs of our home...no wonder it was so freaking drafty. There was also considerable wood rot around the chimney. Obviously we were quite irritated that these issues were not caught by GLI. They are not issues that quickly popped up, but rather they are issues which have been apparent for years on the home. To me, home inspections should be pretty thorough on the chimney and firebox areas since they pose a huge risk for fire and home loss. From our experience, GLI seemed thorough in most areas, but not in the chimney/firebox issues. This was a costly oversight for us and has led to over $2K in repairs just so our fireplaces are safe/useable.

I have never had any experience with them that wasn't professional and ethical. I have never heard of a home inspector that caught every single flaw and inspection reports are always hard for sellers to read on their homes, but with that said, these guys are as good as they get.
