Can't speak highly enough about Dr's Maritato & Roccaro they are the most wonderful competent Vet's on Staten Island. I always tell them to let me know if they are ever going to accept human patients and I will be figst in line! Dewey loves them!

I can't say enough of good things about this veterinarian practice. I've seen both doctors and both doctors are excellent. My fur baby is almost 13 years old and my only regret is not finding these drs sooner! They genuinely care about their patients.

This is a small/ medium Vet practice (great Place). The staff is caring, knowledgeable and extremely competent. Our daughter's (little French Bulldog) Vet is Doctor Melina Maritato. Dedicated, caring and a competent professional. Her diagnosis on my little one are always on the spot! She is the real deal let me tell you. You may find good doctors out there but it's very hard to find one that really cares about your dog and is also aware of the difficulties the owners deal with it. We were very lucky to find doctor Maritato. Regarding this venue the only thing that is a little annoying is the fact that they are always very busy - - - and it is because of their great work.

Update. Another wonderful experience at Four Corners. Took my 3 year young adopted kitten Gabriel there and as usual Dr. Raccaro was wonderful. Gabriel was so calm during the exam. Dr. Raccaro was so gentle with him and put Gabriel at ease. Also, staff was great as usual. Thank you Four Corners

I have been bringing my dogs here since they were puppies. The staff is always Plesant every one is friendly & caring. Dr. Roccaro is dedicated, compassionate and takes his time to answer all of your questions. Sadly & recently I had to put down my beloved dog Casey he was 17yrs. As painful this experience is & was. Dr. Roccaro was the best he took his time & explained everything. Most of all & very special for me was they took paw prints of Casey and it was enclosed in a frame, beautiful poem and a sympathy card. I wouldn't want to go to any other Veterinarian.

My dog Lucky loves both of the doctors, the staff is amazing. They are simply the best.

I saw Dr. Macri. I find her very compassionate, smart and fair. One thing that would definitely…read morebring me back is she did not give me only the most expensive options, did not run unnecessary blood work ups or stool samples until we found out if the my dog Bully had a mass in his stomachs and if so if it was operable. We chose to have a half sonogram which showed a mass and followed up with a full sonogram which showed several masses connected to his liver. Not operable By running blood tests and stool samples would have added hundreds to a bill and would be totally unnecessary. These are the things that show me they care and are not taking advantage of you. We decided not to wait even though Bully wasn't in real pain but uncomfortable as there was no telling when he would be but it would be very soon. After a day of visiting his favorite neighbors, treats and love we brought him in. This was the saddest but easiest euthanasia I have had to do in my life. My baby wasn't screaming in pain, seizing or uncomfortable. He liked Dr. Macri and since he was just there was not suspicious, nervous. He went to sleep and left us calmly, easily. Thank you Dr. Macri for loving on my baby, you easiness with him and your compassion . Love Dawn and Irv

As I sat with my lethargic, dehydrated, but stable cat, I watched the staff members at GSIVS…read morerapidly respond with great care to one trauma case after another. My pet needed care, but not immediately, and I respected the professionalism, quick actions, and thoughtfulness I saw from every person at GSIVS. I fully understood the reason I needed to wait until a break in what I hope was an unusually challenging evening for the staff and the dog community of Staten Island. My cat was given excellent care, and I appreciated Dr. Catherine Walsh's thoroughness and explanations. GSIVS provides an important service to Staten Island when a pet is in need of care and one's primary veterinarian is not available. Dr. Catherine Walsh was very caring. After an evening of dealing with multiple cases of trauma, she provided care for my lethargic, but stable cat as though each case she treats is equally important. The staff prioritize as necessary while making every case feel valuable.

I brought my cat here who was 3 years old. He was diagnosed with heart disease. The reason why I…read morebrought him in is because he went into heart failure and as a treatment they gave him lasix and oxygen to keep him comfortable. I was told that I needed to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist was only available on Thursday's. They tell me it's okay to bring max home until then and that I NEEDED to see the specialist. Saw the $1,000 specialist who told me my cat had 6-9 months to live and off the bat said well "it's severe" in the most obvious tone. We had no idea. He was also very insensitive and clearly rising to see the next patient. The next day, my cat goes into heart failure again. I rushed him to the hospital and he unfortunately declined so quickly that he passed once I brought him in. I know sometimes there's no way of knowing. However, I don't know how he DIDNT see the severity and tell me that it may be sooner than later. Nonetheless, as my maxie passed there and I was asked if I wanted to say goodbye- they brought him in with his eyes and mouth wide open and no blanket over him. It was the most traumatic experience I and my fiancé ever had with an animal and now all I see is that picture in my head. I will never go back to this hospital and never recommend them for this reason. There was no logical reason for them to present him like this and I am still furious. While battling grief as traumatic as it already was, I just have flashbacks of this moment because of them. I wish I brought him elsewhere where he would've been respected. It felt entirely disrespectful for the ending of a beautiful life.

We had a older Carin Terrier who was cared for SO WELL by these guys, throughout her eye removal surgery (elsewhere), her recovery and eventual passing away. The doctor and staff there were AMAZING to us during that difficult time, and have remained so ever since, caring for BOTH of our current dogs. I see lots a super negative reviews here and while I do know that these people possibly had very different circumstances and experiences than us, we have nothing but great things to say about them. I feel nothing but welcomed and helped here, and feel nothing but friendly, loving care for our babies. Each and every doctor has made us feel safe and well-guided through every step.

This practice does not care for the animals/pets or their owners, only for your hard earned cash. Karma will deal with you, trust. They refused to tell me the price of the bloodwork and a minor procedure that was "required" for said procedure(which is confirmed false by multiple other vet places and ASPCA). They also did tests and other stuff that I did not consent to or was aware of, I was informed only after everything was done. For example, their reason for administrating the FIV test (without our consent) is to "protect my staff", what a load of bs, FIV cannot be transmitted through humans, and the vet even complimented my cat's gentle personality and docile demeanor. They definitely pick and choose who to target. Avoid this place at all cost, there are way better options on the island or in Brooklyn.

Once what was a good small clinic is now just a clinic. You will see numerous different doctors. There will be numerous miscommunications. In my experience they CYA and state they said one thing but never did. You consent to things which they dont perform and they chalk it up on, hey we wrote it so. Theres never an apology, the only solution is to spend more money. Furthermore the front staff yes you to death and never follow up on anything, insurance claims, whatever. People wait in the waiting rooms for an hour plus with appointments. Then if you have any complaint on an administrative level, good luck because its whatever they have in writing. No sympathetic apologies, reflection, or anything. Its MALPRACTICE & they are ALARMISTS. This once was a great vet. Not anymore. I urge you to PLEASE go somewhere else
