We were concerned about how things would go but were very impressed from the moment we first contacted Crate Escape. We initially brought Cookie to the Charlestown location which has lots of big dogs and, because that's how big dogs have fun, can be a bit boisterous at times. The excellent staff there told us they thought the Huron Ave location would be a better situation for Cookie. They were right. They did a thorough screen to ensure the environment would be safe for both Cookie and other dogs, and helped us ease her in, initially dropping her off for only a couple of hours at a time on less busy days so she'd have time to acclimate. Two years later and she's staying the entire day twice a week and she *LOVES* it. It's like her puppy play date which she returns from exhausted but happy every single time. The staff are absolutely incredible, and we are sincerely grateful to them as they have improved our pup's quality of life substantially. Obviously, all puppy all the time would be every dog owner's dream, but if that's not possible and you have to work to pay the bills and keep them in kibble, you really can't go wrong with Crate Escape!

A few weeks later, our vet recommended him. Our dog was about 6 months old at the time, so Porter has "grown up" with him. When Porter was a puppy, Mike was instrumental in guiding us through the training process and putting us in touch with a great trainer. He even came over for some of that training, so that he and I were on the same page with respect to setting boundaries, etc. We've even boarded Porter with Mike when we've gone on vacation or away for weekends. Right before we left for vacation a couple of years ago, Porter had to have emergency surgery. Mike took care of him while he was recovering, which included taking him to the vet to have his staples removed. We stayed with Happy Dog when Joy took over the business. She continued running the business with all the love, trust, and professionalism that we had come to expect from Mike McRae. Though we were sad to say goodbye to her, we were thrilled when Mike returned. Mike McRae is wonderful and we feel that he is part of our family. And, Porter loves him too.

Abby has been training my dog Travis Barker for about 8 months now. We were looking for a day care…read morewhen both of us go into the office, but were overwhelmed by how many dogs they have at daycare. Abby runs a small shop (for now) and takes in about 5-6 dogs per day. She goes hiking, swimming, into Home Depot and other pet friendly stores, she does place work in parking lots. We wanted to Travis to be able to have positive social interactions, which was a little hard to control the environment in a dog park. Abby has been a great way to reinforce basics like heel and place, while also letting her run around with other dogs we trust. Abby is also so great at taking lots of videos and pictures that she shares with you at the end of the day. She will show you what to work on during the week and what she was working on with them.
