Todd is the man, and his company is the place for off road and off the beaten path adventures. Whether or not you have an off road vehicle capable of some true trail and rock crawling and climbing, this is one outfit that can make it happen. Bring your own capable rig, or get one from Todd, either way your adventure is going to be unforgettable, and here are some reasons why. If you're not an regular overlander you'll either test your driving ability in his vehicle, or you'll test your own vehicle AND your abilities in one of the many canyons or along some of the jaw dropping trails and vistas throughout Death Valley. But at each stop you'll see amazing views and some wildlife along with Todd's insight and knowledge of the area, then handed a plate of an amazing chef prepared lunch, or quick snack while taking it all in. When i say snack, I don't mean a bag of nuts or Doritos, unless you want those things....I'm talking about a Chilled Citrus and Avocado salad, or Chilled Ahi Poke- while standing in the desert. Maybe some toast points and Albacore with Ponzu and crispy onions? What you don't get is an MRE in a box. I chose the Death Valley trip- I've never been there and was itching to get some desert night shots and get my Land Cruiser out into some real trails and canyon crawling. I thought my LC was set up for almost anything, but of course , i made of list of things i need after talking with Todd and doing some very cool trails and climbs- and of course setting up camp. If I could give 10 stars I would! Where to begin... 1. Todd Rogers was so great to work with through the planning process. He was extremely informative, very responsive and really helped me come up with the best plan for the time of year and what we were looking to achieve. Todd also made sure we were well prepared for the trip with equipment, safety considerations and other preparations. He was very attentive to make sure our vehicles and gear list we're going to work successfully on the trip. 2. We opted to have a Chef along with us and it was well worth the extra cost. We had some dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. The food was excellent and very appropriate for the trip. In addition, Barron, the expedition Cook was also highly experienced in over landing and was also a firefighter/EMT and he was super cool. 3. OMG! Death Valley was the expedition we decided on and cannot express enough how stunning, diverse and beautiful it is. There were lots of surprises along the way and happy Todd waited to show us and share them. 4. Todd was extremely professional (but very relaxed and casual in his approach). We learned so much from a technical standpoint with off-road traversing in the vehicles, shared lots of his wisdom and knowledge about over landing, and was just super fun to hang out with! I could go on and on but this isn't a novel, it's a review :-) If you are looking to do an off-road excursion I literally could not more highly recommend for points adventures. Our family went to Mono Lake with Four Points Adventures. We rented a vehicle from them with the tent on top. The trip was a great time, from the out of the way locations to the delicious food. One of the best trips I've ever been on, in terms of adventure and exotic location appeal especially. I was skeptical when my brother wanted to go to Death Valley for his bachelor party, but he was pretty set on it. A friend told us about Four Points Adventures. I had been trying to arrange a cool itinerary on my own - golf below sea level, a DIY whiskey tasting at a hotel/resort in Death Valley, and a campfire and stargazing under what promised to be one of the world's best night skies. A short phone call with Steve and I was convinced that Four Points could offer us something above and beyond what I could throw together on my own. We did everything I mentioned above except for golf, only in remote and wild stretches of Death Valley National park that we could only have accessed with proper guides like Todd and Steve. Golf was replaced by a slew of ventures we could not have accomplished on our own. Trekking the alien and singularly beautiful landscape of the valley in difficult to reach places, rolling through rough terrain in 4x4 trucks, heaps of interesting information about the local geography's unique character and biology, and ice cream around the fire at night (after the delicious dinner they made, cigars, and our whiskey tasting). We had ice cream for dessert in the hottest place on earth - thank you Four Points Adventures! The pop-up tents were elevated high above any possible critters (though we saw almost none save for the baby scorpion Todd found for us with his handheld UV light), and were very comfortable - essentially tents with built in queen mattresses. 4 Points Adventures was very accommodating through my entire experience. From finding convenient times to talk at the onset to explaining in as much detail as I asked everything about the trip, and being highly flexible in tailoring the trip to our ability and interests, I was impressed by the ease of planning with them. A lot of the weekend was a surprise for my brother, and he later described it as surreal and better than he could have hoped. Everyone shared his sentiments. I will certainly be back for more trips with 4 Points Adventures - I look forward to participating in one of their trips focused on photography. Cannot recommend enough. The prices were extremely reasonable for our group of 8, especially considering the amount that we packed in to our time and the quality of ever moment. read more

I recently went on the Death Valley trip and had a fabulous time! I've been to Death Valley before but on this trip I saw a whole new side to this amazing place. Traveling by 4X4 is new to me and it was a blast getting into the backcountry on roads I would not be able to explore on my own. There were breathtaking views as we drove up the mountains. And there were so many wildflowers everywhere! Todd, our driver and guide, was super friendly and took us to some awesome spots. The first day we camped next to huge sand dunes and that morning after coffee and breakfast, I climbed up the sand dunes until my legs were beat and was rewarded with an awesome view. I especially loved the hot springs where we stayed our last 2 nights, nothing like soaking in a hot tub at night under the stars in the middle of the desert! I will remember that experience for a long time! The food was delish! Steve cooked up some yummy dishes. I'm a vegetarian and he was able to make super tasty meals for me as well as dishes for the carnivores in the group. I really appreciated that. Hands down the best meal was a new dish for me, Shakshouka, which we had for breakfast. It was like a stew with eggs and tomatoes. I plan to try to make that at home sometime. So satisfying! It was also my first time in a Tepui tent and I was sooooo comfortable sleeping at night. Just the right amount of firmness. I loved falling asleep looking up at the stars from my warm sleeping bag and then waking up to the amazing view of the valley in the morning light. So cool! What a fun trip and what an awesome way to experience the outdoors! read more

What a great day! My boyfriend and I booked Todd for the first intro course to off roading. The first step was looking at our truck and going over the vulnerable areas that we need to watch out for as far as damage to the vehicle. Even though we just did a day class, Todd went out of his way to make sure we were prepared, and we discussed being prepared for longer trips. I used to think of off roading as more of a male activity, because usually that is all you see in photos! After having the day with Todd, I can see getting a group of women together and heading out! Todd makes everyone feel just as important, no matter what your level of knowledge is on each subject of off roading. He tailors each class to what the person/group needs. I never felt that I was out of my element. It was hard to stay on subject with Todd, because he has so much knowledge on all things outdoors. Todd always made sure we wanted to keep discussing certain things so we had the best use of our money and time. My favorite part was getting out of the truck prior to driving through a potentially rough area, and planning a strategy! We went out to Death Valley with Steve and Todd on a two-day custom trip in September 2016. I'm so glad that I happened across their website during the planning process, because there's no chance that I could have pulled together on my own an adventure like the one that they created for us. In advance of our trip, they scouted some very remote locations for us, so the hiking, camping and off-roading was a real treat and we barely saw anyone else on our trip. They were thorough in all aspects of the trip, clearly thinking through every detail so that we could enjoy the trip and not worry about a thing. For all of this, I thought that the price point was very reasonable and would highly recommend. I hope to go out with Four Points Adventures again soon. read more

I went on the Four Points Adventure to Death Valley in March 2016, and it was great! Todd & Steve - our guides - took excellent care of us. Steve is a great cook. His campside shakshouka (a delicious breakfast dish of tomatoes, onions, peppers, eggs and spices) was better than the one I've made at home in my full kitchen, and I am still craving the lentil dip he served up for one of our cocktail hours. He took great care of the vegetarians (like me) and meat-eaters alike! Todd makes a delicious Manhattan and was an excellent guide on a day trip to Death Valley's Racetrack and Grandstand as well as an old, abandoned mine. The Racetrack and Grandstand were a major highlight for me! Parts of the road to get to those spots were gnarly, but Todd knew exactly what he was doing and I felt totally safe riding along. Plus, he picked a fantastic overlook spot for our lunch break (where we consumed delicious sandwiches and other treats Steve had made up for us). Todd and Steve are also both great 4WD navigators--not only did they have no trouble getting their vehicles and trailers through some pretty interesting spots, they were great guides to the guests in our group who drove their own vehicles. I was quite impressed. I've been to Death Valley multiple times but never to these spots. I have previously stuck to the places accessible by paved roads and the trails accessible from those roads. So I loved seeing other parts of the park! The drives were full of spectacular scenery and wildflowers. We also heard coyotes and burros arguing early one morning (from our tents), watched a wild burro walk past our campsite (with occasional braying) and saw a horned toad on our day trip to the Grandstand/Racetrack. That might be more wildlife than I've ever seen in Death Valley before. And the hot springs and shower at the second campsite were fabulous (fair warning: as with many hot springs in natural areas, most folks will be nude). I especially liked that our second full day in the park we had the option to hang out at camp or go on the day trip to the Grandstand/Racetrack. When the day trippers returned to camp, it was clear that those who stayed behind had had a wonderful day of exploring, soaking in the hot springs, napping, reading, and eating well. Overall, the trip was a good mix of sight-seeing, 4 wheel-driving, hanging out by the campfire, making new friends, and eating well. I might have liked a bit more time for hiking, but it's hard to say what I would have given up to have that time. The Tepui pop up tents were more comfortable than I expected. I added a tad of extra padding (thermorest) to mine the second night specifically because I'm having some issues with my hip and sleep on my side. But even the first night without that was quite comfy. And we had great views of the stars from the tent and a nice, enclosed, private changing room below. Just great! It was such a treat to be camping and do no cooking or cleaning up (and no setting up of tents either)! I'd travel this way all the time if I could! read more

I was recommended Four Points Adventures by a friend who kept raving about their recent trip. I signed up for their Bodie/Mono Lake trip and I must say I was extremely impressed and extremely satisfied. I've been wanting to go to Bodie for a long time now, and this was definitely the way to do it. These trips are an adventure! You are off the beaten path and you never know what you are going to see around the corner. Todd and Steve have planned a trip that will be sure to leave lasting memories. It was great to get away and get to locations with no one around. Going by 4X4 took the trip to a whole new level. It is amazing the places you can get to and a little hair raising at the same time, but it was amazing. I especially loved traveling on the east side of Mono Lake. We had the place to ourselves and it was such a great time. The food was fantastic too. It's amazing what Steve can cook up on the side of the road and I learned a new favorite breakfast; shakshouka. I think our favorite moment from the trip was the slot canyons that I had no idea even existed out there. I'd highly recommend this to a friend and we will be planning another trip with Four Points again in the future. read more
