I spent the extra $10 a night for a jacuzzi in my room. The room was $129/night. The bed was comfy and I slept well. There was a mini fridge and microwave oven in my room. Parking was free as is WIFI (it's fast). There was a complimentary continental breakfast with hot options (I grab some yogurt and an apple to go in the mornings). There is a salt water pool but I didn't use it. There is no restaurant in the hotel and no options within walking distance. Last evening there was a reception ... free appies and drinks from 6pm to 8pm. It happens Monday to Thursday evenings. I checked it out. They set out bottles of wine, beer and pop along with veggies, chicken wings and pepperoni pizza (which I'm assuming they ordered from a nearby pizza place) and you helped yourself. I had enough wings and pizza that I didn't need to have supper (I'd had a big lunch). I liked the hotel, my room and the friendliness of the staff but I found it was a bit too isolated.

Check-in was fast, even with the long lines. What's interesting is that the front desk has these little assorted vitamin tablets to put in your complimentary water bottle. I've never seen that before, but maybe that's what happens in a country with socialized healthcare. I totally appreciate that! The room itself was clean. The AC worked fine. I find that the air can be dry in hotel rooms, but I didn't experience any issues. The lobby has a lot of seating. The on-site restaurant had good food and great service. The staff was VERY patient with my big and loud family, which I also appreciate. The property isn't too far from shopping and restaurants. Though it was summer so the weather was nice. I can't imagine walking in the middle of winter, though I guess walking would be safer than driving for me since I'm not used to driving in the snow. The nearest grocery store is like a 5-min walk so it is doable. I recommend this Marriott property if you need a place to stay in Waterloo since it's close to restaurants, shopping, and the university.

The free WiFi is very good or you have the option to upgrade if you're doing something that requires a lot of refreshes. We had no problem watching Netflix and doing work without the upgrade. Parking costs additional - $12 per night at time of review. There is a small garage and lot adjacent and a large parking area beneath the hotel. There are electric charging spaces available also. Facilities include an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. There's also an indoor pool, sauna and gym. Everything is clean and modern and the central location can't be beat - highly recommend.

This time, after 2 years of covid coming back, figured I'd get a cute little Airbnb close to my family's house. Close it was and disaster it was! They came in 7-8 times to the unit in 12-14 hours of me being there. Unannounced, unauthorized! It was that crazy. Long story short, Airbnb got me out ( luckily after 4 -9 calls/ emails) and put me here. Not much was available. And I appreciate this so much more! Walking in here albeit it was late/ after a stressful day, this was such a haven. The front doors don't slide open at night due to homeless, they have to buzz you in! That threw me off a little like ok where am I!?! But I guess most cities/ downtown's having this problem right now. They have stuff shortage like everywhere else, so check in was just check in. You can get their luggage carts yourself, load and or park and load. The receptionist ( Meagan I believe) was super nice to let me park out to load/ check in first. Then go park underground. So much better that way. The room was super spacious. Kitchenette was super clean, bathroom was nice. Even the kind bed was comfy. Could look a little more better if they tuck in/ do a better bed prep. But! It was a ok without it :) They had breakfast every morning ( or my room came with it). I didn't make it most days (4 days) only because I don't eat breakfast. But I made it in for coffee which was available all day. Even decaf! They also had a happy hour thing/ Thursday 4-6:30 I believe. Some cheeses, drinks etc even some tacos. I went for juice and coffee. Still great. Overall , it was very empty during my stay. The gym was small but clean. The Hammer! Downtown Hammer/ Hamilton is busy/ but empty. It's a nice change. But perfect escape from my nightmare Airbnb! I don't know If I would like this place as much if book and check in here without Airbnb disaster. But I definitely appreciated my stay here! Only if they weren't so expensive though. I stayed in Park Hyatt Toronto after this. Thought about coming back but the prices here are pretty high. Not as high as Park Hyatt Toronto but almost as much as Hyatt Regency Toronto. This area doesn't have as many hotels. So I guess it makes sense. Regardless, I enjoyed my stay here! Great, clean hotel.

I had to take a couple of work meetings, and found the internet to be a little slow/choppy. But other than that it was a comfortable stay. The Starbucks in the lobby was helpful, and the location is super walkable, right in the heart of downtown Hamilton. The complimentary water bottles were super useful and a nice touch. They had a nice terrace and held a low-key viewing event for the eclipse. All-in-all we had the perfect little weekend getaway thanks to the Sheraton!

Room is standard and dated. Decor and layout is typical to Sheraton brand. Nothing too fancy but adequate for a short stay. Hotel is connected to Jackson Square and the bus terminal is right across the street. FYI: Go Bus serving YYZ and towards Richmond Hill has a stop in front of the hotel.

As we walked in at around 8pm there was mayhem. Apparently a hockey tournament was staying there. Tons of kids running around screaming by and the parents were not that much better. We assumed we would get a quieter spot and couldn't wait to get out of the lobby and elevator. But ok and behold our floor was even worse. Doors slamming kids screaming. Parents banging on doors. Now I get it. It is a fun time. But we don't have to be in the middle of it with a baby. So I went downstairs and eventually we got a room on the office floor and some breakfast vouchers and a few drink tickets. By this time it was 9:30 or so and our little one was exhausted. And even though we were assured and called months in advance. A crib was in neither room yet. So the manager was very nice and helped. Even brought the crib herself. But if you knew about both (baby and tourney). Why put us in the middle of it. And make us ask to change. In the end it worked out and was not a bad place to stay. Breakfast was decent and had variety. Staff like us were beaten down by the tournament. There is a pool. We didn't see it. Also. We were overcharged and had to try to get our original price to be charged. Another pain. So what may have been a 3.5 stars is now back to a solid 3. The room itself was your basic room with two beds. They do have sleep number beds (although on bed wasn't working- not a good look!) The one that did was fun to play around with and see what numbers you enjoyed. Just a heads up: It may take a few nights for you to figure that out. I've come to learn I don't like soft mattresses as much as I thought! My two issues with the room were the things that took away that 5th star. The toilet didn't flush properly. It was quite irritating to literally hold the handle down until you see the water go down because if you didn't, it wouldn't flush. The pillows aren't your average length pillows, they reminded me more of couch cushions. I found myself constantly falling of the pillow whenever I would switch positions. That doesn't make for a good sleep at all. Other then those two complaints, it was a good stay and I would visit again. Maybe with my pillow in hand next time though.

North something... this is a wider Marriott issue. -no q-tips, cotton balls, or anything else -old towels and not enough of them (1 washcloth to share?!) Lack of working plugs on the nightstand. Dirty room -long white hairs on floor and furniture -raisins, pet treats, and other strange objects on the carpet I had to pick up -hanging dust on the exhaust fan in the bathroom Poor room layout and dated -the best room they have appears to be a Peleton king room which I booked. The main bed tv is parallel to the bed as in you can't see in the photo I posted. You won't easily be watching TV in bed. -rooms on the second floor look at an eye level dirty roof full of water and black dirt/mold Overpriced This hotel was booked specifically because they were THE host hotel for a music festival I attended. A free dedicated shuttle was promised all weekend to and from the festival from the property. I saw the shuttle three times in three days. I addressed this at check in and also with the GM at check out. We had to drive every single day because the shuttle times were not even remotely consistent. If it's every hour - great. Every half hour - great. But give guests a time to be there and stick to it. I paid more than double the hotels Nextdoor to stay at this Marriott even though I have top tier status at two hotel chains on the same street. I was hoping the shuttle would be a perk and perhaps they would offer guests staying under the festival block something that related to the festival (a welcome gift, a sticker... ANYTHING). We booked using their points program and they instantly recognized us as a loyal customer which is a nice touch. Upon entrance, we were greeted warmly by the staff and the entrance lobby look quite new. They told me the hotel was previously converted from a Holiday Inn. I love that there is a mini fridge inside to hold our fresh strawberries from our Farmers market haul. The best part is the location it's next to a Playhouse, an outlet, and St Jacobs market, and short drive to the University campus, Waterloo Park and golf course if you're intending to visit there.

A complimentary light supper is served during the week (the menu varies ... last evening it was soup and salad with grilled chicken) and you can buy beer or wine. A complimentary breakfast is provided. The room rate was about $200 (plus taxes) and included parking. There was a 24-hour on-site convenience store, along with an indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center and complimentary WIFI. I was going to have a bath ... until I found an empty shampoo bottle and short black hairs that didn't belong to me in the tub. Ewwwww! I also noticed a couple big smudges on mirror above the sink. There were about ten squares left on the toilet paper roll, which I found strange ... good thing there was an extra roll left. It made me wonder whether the bathroom was cleaned at all. Though there is a small shopping plaza next door (with about a quarter of the store fronts available for rent), there isn't much around ... you have to drive to get to restaurants, shopping, etc. I did go to the pub (other than Tim Hortons, it's the only restaurant around) in the shopping plaza for supper last night but it wasn't very good.

It also had a nice desk with WIFI that was very fast. Staff were all very friendly and the room was exceptionally clean. Check in was smooth and the lady offered to try and find a corporate rate for me, since I was staying for work. Breakfast, which is included, had eggs, bagels, muffins, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Only thing it needed was bacon! Would definitely recommend it for business travel. It also had a nice looking pool facility, but I didn't use it.
