We had a queen bed and also a sofa that could be converted into a mattress from inside if needed. We also had a little kitchenette and full fridge which I was impressed by. We didn't use it during our quick stay but it was nice to have everything if we needed it. Breakfast was very nice actually. Since we stayed on the weekend, the hours were from 7:30-10:30 am. Food selection had alot of variety and there was always an attendant manning the area and greeting people. It was clean and accessible with many places to sit in the breakfast area. There were many rooms occupied on our floor, we could hear them when we were walking in the hall but not from our room. So I'm glad we weren't situated right next to any neighbors for our stay. All the staff and everyone we came in contact with were friendly, helpful, and professional. The only thing for me was that the fan was quite loud at times when I made the room cooler. It wasn't a white noise, "easy on the ears" type of sound. But luckily it would go away after some time. And the sofa was very firm, it wasn't comfortable. Those are really the only complaints about this place that I have, everything else was done well and we had a great stay here. Location was perfect for the TD Coliseum, restaurants in the area, and also for transportation and bus stops. It's walking distance and accessible to so many things. All in all, this was a 4.5/5 experience for me. If we have another concert here or weekend trip in Hamilton, we would stay here again. Thank you!

They gave us complimentary ear plugs. XD They had 2 security guys inside the hotel at night. The area is scary/sketchy, one lady was banging on the hotel door at 4am in the morning, screaming "let me in!" Another guy on Meth was sitting around the hotel in the morning. Found out, there is a shelter few blocks away. The garage is so small. Our floor smelled like wet dog. Their complimentary light dinner was inedible. Only good thing: Our room was clean.

Check-in was fast, even with the long lines. What's interesting is that the front desk has these little assorted vitamin tablets to put in your complimentary water bottle. I've never seen that before, but maybe that's what happens in a country with socialized healthcare. I totally appreciate that! The room itself was clean. The AC worked fine. I find that the air can be dry in hotel rooms, but I didn't experience any issues. The lobby has a lot of seating. The on-site restaurant had good food and great service. The staff was VERY patient with my big and loud family, which I also appreciate. The property isn't too far from shopping and restaurants. Though it was summer so the weather was nice. I can't imagine walking in the middle of winter, though I guess walking would be safer than driving for me since I'm not used to driving in the snow. The nearest grocery store is like a 5-min walk so it is doable. I recommend this Marriott property if you need a place to stay in Waterloo since it's close to restaurants, shopping, and the university.

There are lots of restaurants nearby, including in the hotel. There is a fitness room, pool and hot tub but I didn't get a chance to check them out. My room had a mini fridge and a coffee maker. WIFI was complimentary and was speedy. There were two complimentary bottles of water. The bathroom had a large night light under the vanity (by the floor) that came on when I entered the room, which was handy when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Room is standard and dated. Decor and layout is typical to Sheraton brand. Nothing too fancy but adequate for a short stay. Hotel is connected to Jackson Square and the bus terminal is right across the street. FYI: Go Bus serving YYZ and towards Richmond Hill has a stop in front of the hotel.

Every half hour - great. But give guests a time to be there and stick to it. I paid more than double the hotels Nextdoor to stay at this Marriott even though I have top tier status at two hotel chains on the same street. I was hoping the shuttle would be a perk and perhaps they would offer guests staying under the festival block something that related to the festival (a welcome gift, a sticker... ANYTHING). Upon entrance, we were greeted warmly by the staff and the entrance lobby look quite new. They told me the hotel was previously converted from a Holiday Inn. I love that there is a mini fridge inside to hold our fresh strawberries from our Farmers market haul. The best part is the location it's next to a Playhouse, an outlet, and St Jacobs market, and short drive to the University campus, Waterloo Park and golf course if you're intending to visit there.

Now I get it. It is a fun time. But we don't have to be in the middle of it with a baby. So I went downstairs and eventually we got a room on the office floor and some breakfast vouchers and a few drink tickets. By this time it was 9:30 or so and our little one was exhausted. And even though we were assured and called months in advance. A crib was in neither room yet. So the manager was very nice and helped. Even brought the crib herself. But if you knew about both (baby and tourney). Why put us in the middle of it. And make us ask to change. In the end it worked out and was not a bad place to stay. Breakfast was decent and had variety. Staff like us were beaten down by the tournament. There is a pool. We didn't see it. Also. Although, I would encourage the staff to maybe know a bit more in terms of what to do. Trails can get boring everyday and reading in a lobby isn't much of a "fun" option for me. The room itself was your basic room with two beds. They do have sleep number beds (although on bed wasn't working- not a good look!) The one that did was fun to play around with and see what numbers you enjoyed. Just a heads up: It may take a few nights for you to figure that out. I've come to learn I don't like soft mattresses as much as I thought! My two issues with the room were the things that took away that 5th star. The toilet didn't flush properly. It was quite irritating to literally hold the handle down until you see the water go down because if you didn't, it wouldn't flush. The pillows aren't your average length pillows, they reminded me more of couch cushions. I found myself constantly falling of the pillow whenever I would switch positions. That doesn't make for a good sleep at all. Other then those two complaints, it was a good stay and I would visit again. Maybe with my pillow in hand next time though.

Never thought I'd stay here but here we are!…read more Usually I visit Hamilton for family time. And always stay with family. This time, after 2 years of covid coming back, figured I'd get a cute little Airbnb close to my family's house. Close it was and disaster it was! They came in 7-8 times to the unit in 12-14 hours of me being there. Unannounced, unauthorized! It was that crazy. Long story short, Airbnb got me out ( luckily after 4 -9 calls/ emails) and put me here. Not much was available. And I appreciate this so much more! Walking in here albeit it was late/ after a stressful day, this was such a haven. The front doors don't slide open at night due to homeless, they have to buzz you in! That threw me off a little like ok where am I!?! But I guess most cities/ downtown's having this problem right now. They have stuff shortage like everywhere else, so check in was just check in. You can get their luggage carts yourself, load and or park and load. The receptionist ( Meagan I believe) was super nice to let me park out to load/ check in first. Then go park underground. So much better that way. The room was super spacious. Kitchenette was super clean, bathroom was nice. Even the kind bed was comfy. Could look a little more better if they tuck in/ do a better bed prep. But! It was a ok without it :) They had breakfast every morning ( or my room came with it). I didn't make it most days (4 days) only because I don't eat breakfast. But I made it in for coffee which was available all day. Even decaf! They also had a happy hour thing/ Thursday 4-6:30 I believe. Some cheeses, drinks etc even some tacos. I went for juice and coffee. Still great. Overall , it was very empty during my stay. The gym was small but clean. The Hammer! Downtown Hammer/ Hamilton is busy/ but empty. It's a nice change. But perfect escape from my nightmare Airbnb! I don't know If I would like this place as much if book and check in here without Airbnb disaster. But I definitely appreciated my stay here! Only if they weren't so expensive though. I stayed in Park Hyatt Toronto after this. Thought about coming back but the prices here are pretty high. Not as high as Park Hyatt Toronto but almost as much as Hyatt Regency Toronto. The breakfast buffet is mediocre in variety. I asked for an egg white omelette which was extremely greasy and had yolks. They charged me $4.49 for my coffee on day 1, $3.50 on day 2 and $1.53 for day 3. For-the-exact-same-coffee. I think it was a little nuts. I called the front desk to ask about this strange coffee pricing anomaly and they didn't seem to get it.

There was a cordless phone and an alarm clock that not only showed you the time on the front but also displayed the time on each side so you could see it as you were lying in bed. We were surprised to find a nice note from the manager welcoming us as a Marriott Rewards member. We were using a certificate for 1 night's free stay and as a thank you for choosing their hotel we had a delicious plate of fresh berries and exquisite chocolate as a welcoming gift. The bathroom area was separated by a pocket door so that the toilet and the shower tub combination are separate from the sink and two very large mirrors which were great for putting on makeup and having counter space for your Essentials. I don't think the hotel was very full on a Sunday night, I found the rooms to be very quiet and relaxing. All of the staff welcomed our three dogs and seemed very happy to have them there even sharing photos with us of their own dogs. Why not 5 stars vs. 4? Sorry, I'm spoiled by hotels that always have coffee/tea available in the lobby and complimentary breakfast. I'm not ready to pay $15.95 for a buffet breakfast. The hotel's location is also very convenient as it is literally adjacent to the University of Guelph campus, 5 minutes to the Ontario Veterinary College, in less than 10 minutes to the downtown retail/restaurant area.
