This hotel was by far the biggest hotel we saw in Manhattan, Kansas. Our stay wasn't what was expected. This place has a lot of potential and for the most part it was ok. Some parts are a bit outdated the staff was very accommodating and They all were VERY NICE!! Big Thank you to the staff! 5/5 We originally had an issue with one of our rooms that smelled like cigarette smoke. They kindly moved my wife and I to another room that was similar and comped us two free breakfasts every day for our entire stay. (Great Customer Service). The hotel has an inside restaurant and bar. The restaurant are run by a husband and wife (Russ and Cathy). The cost is a bit pricey for the kind of food that was served. Again, a bit outdated but it has so much potential. There is a swimming pool and spa in the middle of the hotel atrium. The gym not up to date. The smell inside the atrium has a bit of a moldy swimming pool smell. They have fans running on the hotel floors to keep things dry. The hotel house keeping is where I'm dissatisfied and disappointed! 0/5 here. For our rooms were never cleaned even after we reported them to be cleaned the house keeping never came to provide us fresh towels and toilet paper or vacuum and make our beds. This was a daily service that was supposed to be provided. We told the front desk and they said they will look into it but it never happened. This was very upsetting as we stood there for (6) days. It is easy to say we will go somewhere else but the reservation was already made and couldn't just get up and go. To expensive so we had to deal with it. One of our rooms door lock stopped working which we told the front desk and this actually was taken care of within mins. That was a relief. Apparently the battery in the door locked went out. I didn't even know they have batteries in them lol. Our rooms were very dark and didn't have sufficient lighting and the windows retained moisture which sweated. (Very unpleasant). The carpets were old and along the base boards of each room had a white powder as if it were some bug repellent. We did check for bed bugs before we unpacked and THANKFULLY there weren't any. The garbage built up because housekeeping never came in one of our rooms. There are no chairs in the rooms like the pictures are posted from the hotel management. I wish this hotel could've WOWED us b/c like I said it has potential. But in Kansas it just seemed like there was no motivation. Next time we will stay some place else. The hotel pictures make it seem that the rooms are all lite up when in fact they're actually dark and damp. Almost feels like a vampire room or cave. Very deceiving. Very disappointed!! read more

I am giving this hotel 3 stars because they have remodeled an exquisite lobby and have a nice restaurant- but that's where the good stuff ends. The parking lot is a mess with potholes. The location isn't super nice or the most convenient when staying in Manhattan. When I saw this was the hotel I booked I was disappointed in myself. There are way better options in Manhattan for hotels at the same price as this one. It did serve its purpose. I booked it so my kids could have a place to swim on their spring break since it's near my hometown of Wamego. The pool is big but it's in a large open space. Where people walk and can hangout and stare which I don't like. Most pools are separated from main walkways and such. The pool towels were tiny and thin. I was most disappointed in staff. When I checked in I had to wait for 10 minutes at the desk for someone to show up. Then he forgot to give me my breakfast voucher I paid for with the booking. He also told my friend that our rooms were close to each other and they were not. You would think so, as I was 328 and she was 332, but I was on the balcony by the pool and they were in outer rooms. Their pool is open to the public which you would think was a nice thing until the local methheads join you in the hot tub. When I wanted to order breakfast I had to wait 10 minutes at the restaurant before being helped and when I wanted to checkout- it was my longest wait yet. I spent 15-20 minutes at the front desk waiting on someone. Also when I first got to my room and was exploring there was an employee just hanging out in an nearby room on their phone. He was supposed to be cleaning it I assume as the cleaning cart was parked outside of it. I travel quite often and that's the first time I saw an employee just chillin ' in a room like a guest. 3 stars was generous. This isn't a horrible place to stay in a pinch but there are so many better options in Manhattan. read more

Interesting hotel located in Manhattan. It's Kansas and Manhattan is really a college town, so there aren't many super nice options, so I was glad to find a Four Points by Sheraton. We arrived on Saturday night and had a quick and easy check in process. We reserved a room at the military rate and the woman was nice enough to add an extra voucher for breakfast free of charge. The hotel is actually fairly large. The pool is in an interesting location (out in the open near the staircases) and the hotel is very dimly lit. We had the most difficult time finding our room as the hotel also has an interesting layout. There's an exit door that isn't really an exit, but the entrance to another hallway of hotel rooms. Super confusing but kind of cool also? I'm not sure lol. The first night, our stay was perfect! The room and bathroom were clean and just as expected. The second night, I noticed early in the evening that our ac unit didn't seem to be working. After playing with the temperature and ultimately realizing it was actually broken, we went to the main desk to let them know. There was only one person working, so he gave us another room for our final night and said we could just leave both sets of keys when we checked out the following morning. Four stars because of the clean environment, great customer service, and swift reaction to a customer complaint. read more

Stayed here booked room months in advance for State game at a premium rate. Several issues from hotel being overbooked and rooms not available until hours after check in, if at all and no communication before hand of this. Some guests sleeping in the lobby after 11PM still waiting for rooms due to overbook from late check out from visiting team per the front desk. The visiting team stays there and we're given a 4PM check out which results in no way for guests to check in at 3PM per policy and cleaning staff enough time to properly turnover the volume of rooms. We even only had one towel in our room when we checked in after leaving the game at halftime. We filled a formal complaint with Bonvoy. I encourage you to do the same if this has happened to you with Bonvoy and or Marriott. Management clearly knows the capacity and resource limitations of overbooking with late check out. Front staff did the best they could to de escalate several unhappy guests some with children and dogs. read more

We had a prepaid reservation for an employee. When running her card for a deposit, they charged the Full Amount of the reservation to her card. The hotel acknowledged the mistake but WOULD NOT refund the card until after checkout three days later EVEN THOUGH the reservation itself was already paid in full and the amount they charged her was tantamount to double dipping. This left our employee with only $12 in her bank account for the duration of the stay. When our employee attempted to discuss the matter in the afternoon with the guest service manager, he was rude and dismissive. I am frankly appalled that an error of this magnitude could not be solved by the staff on hand, let alone hotel management. Our company goes to Manhattan approximately 25 times a year to the tune of just over 80 rooms. Obviously the Four Points Sheraton does not want our business and we will no longer book rooms here. It's a shame. I caution everyone against this hotel if the way guests are treated is important to you. read more

Fraud! Bait and Switch! We made a reservation on marriott.com for FP by Sheraton that specifically said free cancellation 24 hours prior to your stay. Two weeks before the event, our room was charged to our credit and we were told that because there is a football game that night we will not be issued a refund if we cancel. This hotel policy supersedes Marriott. Marriott still has a cancellation policy of 24 hours prior in the hotel and will not honor it for all football events. read more

This hotel is an OK place to stay in Manhattan, KS. The main thing that is hurting it is how dated it has become. To me, the oddest thing about it is that there is a pool in the center that is not really enclosed. The kids in our family loved this as they could run around and easily pop in and out of the rooms, but it does kind of make the whole first floor smell like a pool. The room was fine once we took care of a broken toilet, and picked up a dead bug we found. The only other thing that was amiss was that our entire family was staying here and we had reserved several rooms all together months in advance. When we got there they tried to split us up. We eventually got it right but this seems like something that should never have been an issue. They could honestly benefit from doing a deeper clean on each room, and maybe enclosing the pool, or making a few additional modern updates to the space. read more

We stayed here for the KSU homecoming game and were very impressed. It's an older hotel....the old Holiday Inn 20 years ago. If you're looking for brand new perfection you won't find it. This place is clean but has an old school feel. Check in was quick and super friendly. The restaurant is excellent. Every staff person we encountered had a smile on their face and truly cared to make sure we were highly satisfied. The room was very clean and spacious. There's a nice pool and hot tub. The elevator smelled a little musty otherwise this hotel would have been rated 5 stars. We'll definitely be back! read more

This hotel is very nice inside but it was EMPTY for the size of it. When I originally arrived at my room there was no electricity and they were somewhat grateful about it and just gave us a new room. The second room smelled funny but we were not going to complain again. In the morning it says on the website that our room included breakfast and they insisted it did not. My family and I always stay here on our way back to Denver from Ohio, and it's always been very pleasant. Nothing has ever prompted me to write a review until now. When we got into our room, we were greeted by a terrible smell. Faint, but it was still there. I decided that it was nothing to worry about, and kept unpacking. I was looking for the food menu, and I couldn't find it. I know sometimes they get lost under beds and whatnot, so I looked there first. I didn't find the food menu, however I did find a rotten McDonalds sausage egg and cheese biscuit lying under my bed. Traveled to Manhattan for a 5 week business trip and stayed at the Four Points and have to give them fairly high ratings in all areas. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The internet was slow, but average by hotel standards. The room service was excellent and the bar restaurant was excellent food wise, but they need an upgrade at bartender. The young man working there has no people service skills and really should be replaced. Conversely, the men and women working the breakfast meals were top notch! The management was fairly responsive to any inquiries I had and the location is close enough to downtown and the bypass businesses that it's location is excellent to get to pretty much anywhere. I'm sure I'll be coming back sometime for work and when I do I'll most likely stay here once again. read more

I attended a conference and found the entire experience very nice. The facility has been there for years but appears like new and attractive. I only beef was that the signs to get tot eh back rooms were non-existant and I have to track down a maid to find my room. Simply placing signs showing where the even numbered rooms and elevators are located would seem like a non brainer. The meetings rooms were accommodating and the climate control was appropriate. My room was clean a very good size with a sofa included. The TV screen size was good and the choices of channels plenty. The free bottle of water was nice. Most motels do not cool the rooms enough for me but this one did and I slept well. The staff was friendly but it seemed strange that when I asked if they had a spare iPhone charger to loan none was available. I was staying at the Comfort Inn in Junction city. My Co worker didn't like the 20 minute drive. So he changed us to here. My room is half the size. No microwave or refrigerator. You can get them but it's $10. No free breakfast. Comfort has 24hr coffee (free) and cookies at night (free). This place dose not. This place is old and you can tell by the smell. It's not powerful, but you can tell. its clean. My room has 2 doors both to 2 different hallways for some odd reason. If any one is at the pool you can hear it in your room. If I had a choice I wouldn't say here. read more

My friend and I had reservations at this hotel while we attended a class hosted by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (that fact is about to get really ironic) and we had just checked in when we noticed the place smelled really bad. My friend thought it smelled like old lady perfume. I thought it smelled more like stale cigarette smoke and old dog. Anyway, we walked past the pool. Now, have you ever had a fantasy of jumping into a pool of blue gelato? Add this place to your bucket list because that is exactly what their pool looked like!! I didn't even look at the hot tub. The floors were filthy and the heater looked 200 years old. When we got off the rickety elevator, we were greeted by a plethora of dirty glasses. Beer mugs, wine glasses... I may be wrong but its a little early in the day to be binge drinking. My guess is they were from last night. We were a little nervous about our safety because it looked like a place where nightly drug deals go down and hoes get pimped out. We couldn't even find our room!! Honeslty, we didn't try very hard because by that time we had decided we were leaving!!! The registration lady was very friendly and professional. She tried to encourage us to stay but we had already made up our minds. I had a bad headache for about an hour after we left. We recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for the KS graduation. We reserved 3 room right now to each other. My father who is handicap and walked into the lobby with a cane was given the room the farthest from the lobby. One room the AC wouldn't turn off which we had to call and have them come fix it. The 2nd room the AC didn't work, they had to come up 4 times to fix, it finally started working on the 3rd day also in this room the TV stations kept going in and out. The internet didn't even work. I called 2 times for towels on the 2nd night and never got extra towels. The 3rd room was ok. I paid for all 3 rooms at $200.00 a night for 3 nights. I would not even pay $59.00 a night to stay there again. So $2100.00 for everything is absolutely crazy. My other niece is graduating next year and we will not be staying here. read more

I'm thoroughly displeased with the condition of the beds. We woke up and removed the sheets to help the maids and saw a bed bug. Looked online and confirmed it was indeed a bed bug. I now have bites up my arm. Have some other parts of my body as well. Kinda stinks to ruin my trip with constant itching. Other than that it was fine. Just disappointed with the bed conditions and how there weren't blankets, a dirty laundry bag, microwave, or fridge in our room. Not a big deal but was frustrating. If it were possible, I'd give this hotel zero points. I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel that was managed more poorly, based on four stays. The most recent example is that I called to reserve ten days in advance to assure I could reserve a king sized bed. I called again early on arrival day to assure that we'd have a king sized bed like I reserved because we were going to check in late; and as you might imagine I was assured that there would be such a room. And of course when we got to the hotel, they didn't have any kings, and they didn't even have any queens. read more

Every time I've arrived it was broken and freezing cold. Staff was extremely rude and could not have cared less that the indoor heated pool was a selling factor for our stay, but was not useable. We stayed at the Four Points in Manhattan for my good friend's wedding in October. While the room was very nice and comfortable, the purpose of this review is to let everyone know of the staffs' impeccable customer service. After the airline lost our bag and we had no clothes for the wedding (no dress, no suit, no makeup, nothing!), the Four Points shuttle took us to the mall and Walgreens to pick up everything we needed. They even shuttled us to the wedding (which wasn't prearranged). During a stressful day, everyone was incredibly friendly, and really went the extra mile for us. That is rare to find. And it was such a nice hotel! Great, spacious room, clean, and with a nice bar and restaurant. read more
