The maintenance person was busy with a wedding party so nothing could be done. We went to bar and they put on requested game and their policy is not to turn on volume. I've never ever had this happen in all my years traveling. I went to take a shower, there's was no bar soap, when I was checking out I ask the individual at the front desk why they don't put bar soap in the rooms, he said, "I don't know why they don't do that anymore. Just then another guest walked by and said yes that happened to us too, that's ridiculous. I was very underwhelmed at the rooms, the TVs are small and old and the rooms are extremely dated. We checked into our room and I immediately searched for the remotes to wipe them down because I am one of those people who has OCD and carries Clorox wipes everywhere. Well, the bedroom remote was missing so we went downstairs to ask for a replacement. We were given another but unfortunately it did not work on the tv. We went downstairs and asked if we could just swap out rooms since we hadn't touched anything. The Manager (Ami) was quick to accommodate us and said she had a great room for us. When we walked into the new room my husband and I immediately stopped and looked at each other and had to laugh because it was stunning! She upgraded our room to the Suite and it was so beyond amazing. Thank you Ami for the outstanding customer service and making our stay so much more enjoyable. read more

My stay at the Bluemont Hotel was WONDERFUL! The staff was friendly and informative when I called him prior to my trip and again at check-in. My room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. The refrigerator would not cool, but I was only staying for one night so that wasn't of other importance. They did offer to send someone up to look at it, but since I was getting ready for bed, I told him not to bother. The bar staff and patrons were friendly and fun. And the free breakfast was above average. I'm a K State alum, and therefore truly appreciated the purple themed decor. The artwork in the lobby and walkways was definitely worth taking a look at. I don't know when I'll have a chance to go back to Manhattan, but I would definitely love to be able to stay at the Bluemont hotel again . read more

Stayed again at the Bluemont. As usual, it was great. We really do love this place. So friendly and appreciate that they are pet friendly. The breakfast buffet puts the chain hotels to shame as well. We have yet to try Goolsbys but everyone seems to rave about it so it's on our list for the next drive West. This isn't the most convenient hotel on our twice yearly drive between VA and CO but we are always happy to detour a bit to stay here. Manhattan has really charmed us. Great restaurants, lovely people, small college town vibe. We hope to spend more time here on future trips and really check it out. read more

The hotel advertises enhanced cleaning due to COVID-19. I found ladies underwear behind the bed side table. I pulled it away from the wall so I could plug in my phone charger. Stayed one night at the Bluemont Hotel and it was just lovely. Check-in was quick and easy, and the elevators were prompt and fast. When I reached my room on the 4th floor, I was amazed how big and beautiful it was. Clean, too. I took my drink vouchers down to the lounge and enjoyed some delicious cocktails, expertly mixed by the cheery bartender Hattie. She makes a delicious tequila drink, and the Kansas-sourced Union Horse rye whiskey hit the spot. The prices are fair, and the drink credit went a long way. Breakfast on Wednesday mornings is a make-your-own affair with all the usual options, and then some. Fresh biscuits and gravy, along with homestyle potatoes, did me well. I loved staying here and I'd happily do so again. The parking lot is convenient, provided you arrive from the right direction. The area is great: right in the action of Manhattan. We stayed at the Bluemont on our way to and from Wyoming. It was the perfect refuge after days of driving. Love the location! The staff are kind and accommodating and rooms are modern and clean. We had drinks at the bar and the bartender was super-friendly. Playing darts and unwinding in the lounge area was so chill. My husband and I stayed here last weekend when we were in town for one night, and the Bluemont will definitely be our preferred hotel for our next visit! Since we are both K-State alumni, we were very eager to stay here since the Bluemont was built shortly after we graduated. Upon arriving, we were pleased to find that the parking garage is easy to access and we felt safe leaving our car there overnight. The proximity to Aggieville can't be beat - a quick 5-minute walk to all the shops, restaurants and bars. As for the room, we were shocked to find how spacious it was! Our king room had a lovely view of campus and plenty of space for the two of us (it also had a couch that I assume could be utilized as a fold-out bed). As for the rest of the hotel, everything is modern and nice looking. On our way out we stopped by the indoor pool to peek inside - it looked really clean and nice. The morning before we checked out, we headed downstairs for the complimentary breakfast and WOW. Pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, biscuits and gravy, canadian bacon, oatmeal, bagels, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice... I've experienced quite a few hotel breakfasts in my lifetime and this one was top 5 for sure! The only reason I docked one star is because their rooftop bar is only open on Wednesdays and Thursdays! It was 70 degrees when we were in town and we would've loved to enjoy a cocktail on the roof. Other than that, the Bluemont Hotel surpassed my expectations. read more

On arrival we chose the double queen option, paying $188.00 for one night. We were told at check in the pool was heated. The pool was definitely cold and had a strong smell. The room is big, not updated. There was more pressure in the watered down orange juice machine the next morning at breakfast than the high school gym shower in the bedroom. The little water that came out was hot tho. After showering and spending the day with our K- State student we laid in our comfy bed, but then the TV wouldn't work. We called the front desk thinking the batteries may be dead in the remote... they offered to have someone come to our room and troubleshoot the problem at 9:30pm. The TV is a roku, so it has to connect to internet to be able to watch. It wouldn't connect to the server so we couldn't watch it. Gravy was cold too. I generally don't complain, but after paying almost $200.00 for one night I regret not staying at the Marriott directly across the street. read more

If you're looking for a nicer place to stay in Manhattan that is close to KSU and Aggieville, this is the place! The downtown area is also just a little over a mile away which can be a nice walk if the weather is right outside. During my three-night stay at the Bluemont, we always walked to the downtown scene, aggieville, or the KSU campus with no problems. The downside to Bluemont, in my opinion, is the price. I stayed here for a wedding and was able to get a discounted group rate which was still a bit pricey in my opinion but considering how close they are to the KSU campus and how nice their hotel is compared to others in the area, they can get away with it. Luckily they do serve complimentary breakfast each morning which consisted of scrambled eggs (with and without cheese), sausage links, biscuits, sausage gravy, fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, waffles (already made) and some breakfast pastries like muffins and danishes along with juices. During my stay the hotel staff was always friendly and accommodating even during our 4:30am check out (boo early morning flights!) and the event space was just wonderful for the wedding reception! It is located on the 5th floor and there is a balcony overlooking Aggieville which was really beautiful. I also learned that they have a summer music series in this space which would have been fun to attend. So if you plan to stay here, make sure to check it out! Overall, I enjoyed my stay here! My room was clean, the location was great and the staff really were so nice and friendly, even when I ask the weirdest questions like if they have safety pins I can use. read more

We were in Manhattan for a wedding and stayed at another "suites" hotel in town for the 3 planned nights. It was subpar at best. We were ready to get out of town. Then our flight was cancelled (only 4 flights daily out of MHK). Damn. Now we gotta stay here again. Or do we.... A search led us to Bluemont. Great reviews. Amazing location across the street from Aggieville. We gave it a shot. Immediately upon walking in we were impressed. Beautiful modern hotel, friendly competent staff, loads of amenities. We checked in to find a HUGE suite with a large separate seating area, a "kitchenette" counter with a nice fridge and microwave, then a spacious sleeping area with a large TV, two VERY comfortable beds, potent Air conditioning. The bathroom was spotless and spacious as well. The hotel has a rooftop lounge with live music certain nights. There is a VERY nice bar/lounge that's well stocked, features great specials, nice outdoor patio, and even a shuffleboard setup. The dining area offers a fantastic complimentary breakfast loaded with options. To top it off, the extremely accommodating staff even offers a free airport shuttle (saves a $20 uber fee). Found this hotel haphazardly when needing a break from the road. I found it on hotels.com and got a suite for the price of a regular room. The room itself was great. Everything you need to stay comfortably. Fridge, coffee maker, 2 TVs, a couch etc. It was clean and very modern. May have been bigger then my first apartment. The room included both a buffet breakfast and complimentary beer or wine coupons for the evening. The indoor pool was weird and it was kinda steamy in the room. I only like to swim for the sun, so I may be biased. The staff is friendly, they lent us an umbrella and were helpful with our questions. The breakfast had a good selection and the happy hour was good too. I can't really think of one thing I didnt like about my stay. I would definately stop here again if I ever happen to be in Manhattan, Ks again! read more

Staff was friendly and accommodating. We came here without a reservation and the check in process was super easy. We got a FANTASTIC deal through hotels tonight. The room was clean and nice. We faced Aggieville but the noise from cars driving down bluemont was louder than the bars. (In fairness we stayed on a Wednesday night) my only complaint is that the room was freezing now matter what we set the thermostat to but that's better than the alternative. When we checked in they gave us a complimentary breakfast coupon. The food was delicious. Not what you'd expect from free hotel breakfast. This would have easily been a five star review. The hotel and location are AWESOME. However, 85 days after checking out a $81.00 charge popped up on my AMEX. I immediately called and they informed me Hotwire disputed one of the room charges. I only had one room. I tried to explain to the front desk person the situation and she was combative. She informed me there were 2 rooms and I had to take it up with Hotwire. She would not put me thru to the person in charge. I called back and was put thru to the GM. It turns out that it was an error on their part, ala front desk person, and I should not have been charged. My issue is how can you put a charge 85 days later with zero notification and how can the customer service be so rude? Would I stay there again? Yes, but I will question all they do. read more

The Bluemont Hotel was recommended to me because of its high ratings and for its appearance and amenities. I have a nice room but when I went down for the "hot breakfast", there were no hot foods. There was nobody attending the service area. I checked at the front desk and asked why and was told the entire staff is sick. My expectations in situations like this, especially where service is valued, are that Management would be preparing the "hot breakfast" - possibly they're trained. I asked the front desk clerk if she could prepare the food to which she responded that she is not trained to prepare breakfast and that it is not her responsibility. I had a cold breakfast, not what I expected. Furthermore I'm not clear on Kansas restaurant regulations, but the door to the kitchen was left open with nobody attending. Hardly what I would have expected. Oh well, this is my first day of four. Maybe there will be hot breakfasts for my next three mornings. There's always hope. read more

We were originally going to be staying at the Quality Inn but our hotel room there was infested with mold and just obviously dirty. So we left there and came to the Bluemont. Unlike many of my life's decisions, I can say this was a great choice. As soon as we walked in it just smelled clean and it looked clean and bright. Will helped us check in and was SO helpful and informative and friendly and welcoming. He was exactly what we needed after coming from the nightmare at Quality Inn. Super disappointed in the customer service received from this hotel. Being a Kstate alum and staying in this hotel a few times over the years this was our first choice when we were coming to town. Unfortunately we tested positive for covid and wouldn't be able to keep our reservation or travel for a college visit. When I called to cancel our reservation, the young lady that answered the phone was very rude and offered no option for cancelling my reservation. Not understanding that I had booked a non-refundable reservation i asked what should I have looked for when i booked so that i knew it was non-refundable? (Thinking I don't want to do this again). She said it's stated about 20 times in the website, you should have read it carefully, and hung up. I'm not questioning whether it was or wasn't refundable, but the condescending rude comment & then being hung up on, will have me staying at a different hotel when I'm in town again. read more

The Bluemont Hotel and I started off on the wrong foot. Before heading to Kansas, I checked the hotel's website to make sure I could get there from Manhattan Regional Airport. It said they have a free airport shuttle, so I just called and requested it when I landed around midnight on a Tuesday. The desk agent on the other end of the line seemed truly stumped, put me on hold, and eventually hung up on me. Luckily, the shuttle arrived to pick up my very flight's crew, so I made it to the hotel safe and sound. Upon arrival, I was struck by how pretty the (very purple) lobby was. The clueless desk agent mumbled a lot, but I eventually got checked in and headed upstairs. The second floor smelled like fresh paint, but my enormous room smelled neutral. When I went to hang up my clothes, I realized I only had one hanger. I didn't want to have to deal with desk again, so I hung my dresses over the closet bar instead and forgot about it every time I was in the lobby (so that part was my bad). Walking out of my room first thing the next morning, I was accosted not by the smell of fresh paint, but by the smell of something foul. Like 100 stinky diapers. Thank goodness it was only on the second floor, as I was headed downstairs to the excellent complimentary breakfast: two egg options, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bread and muffins, cereal, and fresh fruit. Hallelujah! From breakfast on, my stay at The Bluemont was lovely. I was there for a small conference and their fifth floor event space was excellent. The fitness center is tiny, but has what you need: two treadmills, an elliptical, barbells, and a bench. The front desk staff became more helpful, the hotel is walking distance to some good restaurants (one of them provides room service), and the best part? The lounge has live music on Wednesday and Thursday nights. My room was right above the lounge, so I got to enjoy some wonderful jazz as I relaxed before going to sleep. I never did figure out what happened to make the second floor smell so bad, but it was clear they were working on it and it did improve over the course of my stay--uncannily mirroring my experience. read more

This brand new hotel hotel is beautiful, well maintained and the staff are exceptionally friendly. (Not to mention you can tell everything has been meticulously cleaned) The main lobby has free wifi (pass code at front desk) and the Bluemont Lounge seems like it would be a great time in the evenings. Located in the heart of Aggieville, this would be a great place to stay if you are doing a college visit or are in town for game day. It might not be walking distance from the football stadium but you can walk to dozens of local restaurants and bars and campus appears to be in walking distance. For about $129 a night on a holiday weekend this hotel is very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking for guests and easy to find. read more

I have had to stay in Manhattan for close to two weeks now due to mechanical issues. Everyday I check into a hotel, check out the next morning believing this will be the day we leave, only to have to check into another hotel. With that being said, I feel comfortable in saying I believe this hotel is the best Manhattan has to offer. It's a nice hotel, comfortable beds. It's fairly clean. I'm a clean freak, so take that comment with a grain of salt. I just happen to notice when the counters haven't been cleaned...just little stuff. The staff is outstanding. From the front desk, to the bartender, and to everyone in between. Everyone was nice and accommodating. The bartender, Steve I believe, was so nice and gave us great service and helpful advice on what to do and where to eat. You can't beat the location. You can walk just about everywhere you might want to go. Cute bookstore down the street. Great restaurants (recommend So Long Saloon). Nice little coffee shop. My daughter loves Varsity Donuts right down the street. Since we have been staying at so many hotels, I just started using Expedia and Hotel Tonight. Was able to nail down some great rates for this place. My first night I used Hotel Tonight and paid $85, after taxes and the second night used Expedia and paid a little over $100. Really can't beat this place, and ESPECIALLY AT THESE PRICES!! Score. If you are staying in Manhattan, this is the place to stay. read more

We actually really like the hotel; the complimentary continental breakfast was the best we ever had, the room was clean, mattresses were comfy, lots of room to move around, staff was great, price was reasonable, parking was easy, and shops were walking distance from the hotel. However, we found out that only the king bed rooms had bathtubs and all others had handicap accessible showers. This is not a necessarily a bad idea on its own, but the design is horrible and it's annoying if you have young children. The shower curtain does essentially nothing to prevent water from getting out. Water splashes and ends up covering half of the bathroom, causing a slip hazard. But the worst part is that the bathroom door is a few feet away from the shower, so when water gets on the bathroom floor it ends up soaking carpet outside the bathroom. My husband has a severe allergy to mold and his allergies went crazy sleeping in the room after he had no issues before being in the hotel. This tells us we were not the first to accidentally get water on the carpet and there is most likely mold growth because of it. Unfortunately, despite just about everything being great about this hotel, I do not think we could not stay again because of allergies. Which is unfortunate, the breakfast was really, really good with lots of choices. read more
