This is a great location downtown between 3rd and 4th Street. The hotel is clean and modern and still smells new. The staff was great. Mostly. As many times as it had happened over the years I think it must be Hilton policy to wake guests up. Housekeepers knocked once and entered the locked room with a DND door hanger at just before 10 am. I was asleep and my wife had her headphones on so she didn't hear the knock. Check out was at noon, so I was catching a little nap since we got up early and went to breakfast. That's super annoying but it happens a lot. I love the hotel and would return. But if you don't want to be disturbed, you should make a special request at the front desk. The breakfast the next morning was expensive however; the only criticism is I was surprised that they didn't have another (complimentary) option to be honest. While there aren't EV chargers on the Hilton hotel parking lot, there are 4 level 2 chargers at the museum across the park from the front of the hotel. (5 min walking distance.). I'd LOVE to see a fast charger in the parking lot of every Hilton. But this isn't too bad. The pool is OK and standard size. The hotel conference center is really beautiful. The location has many restaurants and bars in 10 min walking distance. Service is very good per Hilton standards. You'll enjoy the stay. read more

I can not say enough good abt this place! From the initial greeting to departure, we experienced nothing but first class friendly accommodating services. The front desk, housekeepers and the women at the bar were incredible. We upgraded to the presidential suite our 2nd and 3rd nights, thought we were going to have to wait until 2:00 or 3:00 pm to move (down the hall). We instead were able to move in at 12:30! The spacious and clean rooms felt recently renovated! They are pet-friendly, which is always a plus for us when we travel. They also accommodated the large trailer we were towing! Not worth what was charged and clearly, the standards have been lowered since this hotel was first built. The room was not well-cleaned but after my first night, housekeeping cleaned areas the next morning, before I got photos. There was "something" on the office chair that was suspicious but was cleaned the following day. The hotel is in a great area, close to downtown but they have stopped meeting the standards they had when this location first opened. I have stayed in the past but wasn't impressed with this stay. Don't try to let them get away with making you pay for parking. Even the check-in attendant told me I could lie about having a car as nothing is left on a hotel guests car windshield to indicate they are guests. I'd give them a 5 star rating had 75-80 of their employes not boycotted our convention, but apparently cancel culture is alive and well there. The remaining employees did a fine job all weekend and with only 4 or 5 servers, our former congressmans wife and several other women served the meal and then several of us guys cleared the tables and broke down tables. It pays to grow up working, it didn't bother us a bit to put in a couple of hours of labor and I met people from across the state. As is our nature, we made lemonade out of lemons. read more

I traveled to Manhattan for a work related conference on Friday, July 12, 2019. I landed at the airport around 10:15 pm, and promptly called the hotel to send a free shuttle to pick me up. The woman who answered told me the driver should be there in 20 minutes because he had to pick up the pilots from my flight as well. I told her I was wearing a cowboy hat. She assured me she would tell the driver and he wouldn't leave without me. After ten minutes, I walked outside and waited. I waited another ten minutes and called and spoke to the same lady at the hotel. She said he hadn't come yet, but would be there soon. I waited another 30 minutes, then phoned the hotel again. This time a man named Jerry answered. I asked when the shuttle was arriving (at this time everyone had vacated the airport). He said the driver's shift had ended and he had left for the night. I explained the situation to Jerry and he suggested an Uber or a taxi. I told him it was unacceptable after waiting more than an hour. He asked me to hold, than came on the line and said he would be sending a driver from the hotel laundry staff to get me. By the time I arrived at the hotel, it was 1.5 hours after I'd landed. Jerry did comp my first night at the motel. I will admit, the bed sheets are soft and they have a tiny gym with a pool and hot tub. The hotel has catered our meals, which are bland and uninspired. Also, the iced tea has an off taste to it. I'm sorry, but the average facilities and meals and free room aren't enough to erase the foul taste of a wasted hour and a half. I'd advise not staying here if you can help it. read more

I stayed at this Hilton for 4 nights. I never saw an employee at the front desk for the 1st 2 days of my stay. The elevators were dirty. I was SHOCKED when there was absolutely no attempt to clean The rooms or change the towels. Since when do customers have to request it? Teenagers for employees with no sense of customer service. Clean, modern, great location, free parking... If you can get a room for under $100 or a suite for under $150, you will experience good value. Unless they give you Presidential Suite for $150, don't do it. The difference between the Jr Suite and Pres Suite is literally a matter inches on the dry bar. The staff said there is a few extra square feet difference in room size but, that may be hidden under the sink. We saw no difference. I would consider calling it the, Assistant Deputy Secretary to the Vice Presidential Suite...or, skip the BS and call it a King Suite. Absolutely misleading. $70 extra a night mistake thinking there would be a door separating the bedroom for the kids to have their own space. Just get two rooms adjoining and save yourself the money. As with all Hilton Garden Inn, no free breakfast so make sure you factor that in. Despite MY own error and falling for a marketing scheme, the hotel is really nice. Every inch of this hotel is modern and immaculate! The rooms are very nice, the mattresses are fabulous and the sheets super soft (I want some!). We had a large event there and the staff went out of their way to make sure every detail was perfect. We stayed 2 nights here for a conference. The shower had more water streaming from the spout than the shower head, the plug came apart in my hands when I tried to take a bath, and the doors to the closet kept coming off track. When I mentioned it up front, they said they would look at it tomorrow (I was leaving tomorrow) and that s manager would give me a discount for the inconvenience. Conveniently. No manager was on site that night. I stopped by early in the morning to ask for a late checkout. They said no problem. When I asked about the manager she said he would be in by 9. My daughters conference ended and we went for a quick swim in a very cold pool. It was 12:09. We went back to the room and found ourselves locked out with keys that did not work. I went to the front desk and sat there dripping while they made a key. No apology was made at all. When I asked to see manager I was informed he doesn't come in on weekends. Not what I heard earlier. This hotel leaves much to be desired. Upon check in I was notified the bar/restaurant was only open from 6am-10am, which would have been a big factor in choosing a hotel. There were also numerous families/children running through the hallway at all hours of the night. Be aware, the $10.95 breakfast includes nothing more than pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. As I have stated many Hilton Garden Inn's across the country, this one ranks as good as it gets - in other words it is a five out of five on the Hilton Garden Inn Yelp rating spectrum! The woman who checked me and was kind enough to make me a coffee I went and checked the room out! She was extremely pleasant and accommodating for an employee working on a major holiday. The amenities are just as good as any other Hilton Garden Inn in the United States. If perhaps, you're traveling across country and need to spend the night or a day or two in the Eastern part of Kansas, in the city of Manhattan, this would be a good choice! Looking at the pics online while making reservations for dinner it did appear to be a restaurant , but is actually a bunch of seating arrangement made in lobby of the hotel! They team out of food we needed to order and they really need a real cook. Chicken was burnt, had bread slices toasted on the side( the kind your buy in grocery store) the appetizer chicken wings where the kind out of frozen bag and heated up:( The Thai noodles where a shame on Thai food . After leaving the Four Points by Sheraton because it was such a dump, we arrived at this nice hotel!! We were promptly checked in by friendly staff!! The place was very clean and the decor was modern and updated. Our room was amazing!! It was very clean and our bathtub was nice and large!! The only thing we noticed was the phone didn't work when I tried to call down to get extra blankets, but that wasn't a big deal. The fitness center and pool were amazing and clean!! The hot tub was actually a little too hot so we were unable to stay in it very long, but it was clean and everything smelled very good!! Very nice for a conference. The rooms were easy to move around, it was a good temperature, and I appreciated all of the snacks that were around. There was also a large bathroom with many stalls so it was easy to take a pit stop between sessions (which is usually under appreciated unless there are too few bathrooms, then it's a pain!) I just stayed one night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan. Arrival was fine and front desk staff courteous. Room was comfortable. However, one very important feature of any stay is the shower. The shower head is substandard AND the water couldn't/wouldn't stay at one temperature hot , cold, hot, cold (I was reading other reviews and apparently this has been going on for a while)...AND the entire handle part of the shower fixture wasn't even properly over the hole in the tile behind it! So there was a gap where you could see inside the wall. I run vacation homes that we own and it would never ever be acceptable to rent our places to any paying guest while this situation existed. Also, when will these hotels ever figure out a shower design that doesn't leak water onto the bathroom floor or other places where it shouldn't?? I stepped out of the hot/cold shower and naturally the bath mat and floor was all wet. Now let's talk about the breakfast experience. Poor service and slow cook. I had excellent service in the Salina Hilton where they took care of every need and when I ordered omelettes they were fast and good. To be fair when I finally got my omelette in Manhattan it tasted OK but should have been delivered sooner. The one gal on the register didn't seem to know her job or what the concept of service meant. Half of the time she stood at the register looking like a deer in the headlights. Coffee ran out and this was early in the morning. Altogether a completely memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. I'll remember this stay and never book at the Hilton Manhattan again. read more

We always stay Hilton Garden Inn when we travel for business or pleasure. After my stays here I am questioning whether or not I will stay Hilton ever again. I definitely won't be staying at this one!! The customer service is awful, the rooms are not clean. Fridge had food in it from a previous guest, tub wasn't clean (hairs all over it), no fan so the bathroom is rusting out. There's zero water pressure and the water temp can't regulate so it goes from warm to real hot to cold. There was a scent sachet clipped under the sink with a hair clip--that's questionable! Tooth paste all over the walls. The fridge was broken and leaning to the side. The room was beat up! This hotel is fairly new too. Beware! If you are looking for a place to stay in Manhattan, KS I would suggest the Fairfield, it's in the same area and newly remodeled. read more

Just experienced the worst example of customer service I have ever experienced at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan. We booked 3 rooms for 3 nights and received confirmation of said reservations. After one night, they asked my father who just had a hip replacement move all their luggage into a different room....immediately. The graduation ceremony we drove 7 hours to attend was beginning at that time, which he was late to. We have many more events to attend in Manhattan and will not stay here again. read more

Stayed 2 nights this week. The room was nice as you would expect. But I feel the hospitality was poor. The deadbolt did not work on my room. The shower was either cold or hot no in between. The housekeeper left the door U latched while I was at meetings all day. I also ate at the restaurant and was served warm food not hot. Location: Manhattan, Kansas is probably last on the mind of most travelers but for frequenters of Kansas State University or Ft. Riley, you won't find a better hotel in the area. It's centrally located for folks wanting to visit either the school or the base. You could ride a bike to the campus and the base is a short 15 - 20 minute car ride away. With downtown's revitalization, the hotel is also close enough to walk to a lot of the new "adult" restaurants but far enough away to avoid the vehicle and foot traffic of both the new downtown scene and the college area buffoonery of Aggieville. In recent years, there have also been quite a few new businesses to sprout up just outside the hotel including a coffee shop and bakery as well as a fine wine and liquor store. The mall is also within easy walking distance with all of its added chain restaurants and shopping. Ambience: It's as if someone implanted a big-city hotel in a small town. It's warm and welcoming, yet chic. During a recent winter visit, they had a fireplace atmosphere in the lobby that sits near the front desk. A family enjoyed a little time with the hotel's cookies and drinks before they left for an evening out. They also have a small bar area where a few folks enjoyed some drinks while watching sports. Finally they have a large dining area where in the morning you can enjoy a rather robust breakfast. All these areas are drenched in dark woods, warm overhead lighting and neutral colors for added relaxation. Staff: The staff was as one expects from Hilton. They were very professional during the check-in process, with less than 5 minutes spent at the front-desk. Early preparation goes a long way. The attendant had all the paperwork pre-filled with notifications for HHonors status choices for things like extra points, wifi and complimentary meals. They also were very helpful with pointing out where some of the hotels common areas are located. The cleaning staff was also very helpful in getting everything squared away so that coming back to the room was a pleasant experience. Check-out, again, was a breeze. This process took less than 5 minutes with a quick print-out of the charges and then a thanks for using their hotel. With easy access to their front and back parking lots, we were able to get out of the hotel pretty easily as well. Room: Although there was a problem with a foul smell in the bathroom this time, I've stayed at the hotel many times before and never experienced it. I did make a complaint to the front desk about the smell upon check-out and given their response to other requests in the past, I can only assume that it was taken care of quickly. Other than the smell, the room was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable for those who enjoy relatively firm but relaxing beds. The temperature was easy to control in the room which is very useful during the cold winters. There is a nice single person chair with ottoman for just relaxing with a book and a really nice desk and working chair for people that want to get a little work done in the room. There's a flat panel TV with audio/video and HDMI jacks available for gamers. Additionally, the bathrooms are well appointed with glass showers and a nice vanity. Again, throughout the rooms are dark woods, neutral colors and faux granite countertops in the bathroom. On the many visits that I've had to the hotel, it was always clean and well-maintained. Drinks/Food: I've never actually tasted the food at the hotel but on my last visit, let's just say that I was jealous of my family's breakfast spread. Their breakfast offerings include any-way prepared eggs, waffles and a variety of juices among other standard American breakfast offerings. It looked delicious and my family didn't complain as they enjoyed the food. The hotel's bar also included a variety of wine and spirits which seemed to be pretty standard. Overall: I think that the Hilton Garden Inn is the standard for hotels in Manhattan, Kansas. The location, rooms and staff are unbeatable. Moreover, they're reasonably priced for military members and for most of the year outside of the football season. If you're going to stay in Manhattan, Kansas for any length of time, this is the place you want to start looking. read more

Upon arrival, we discovered the lady that took my phone reservation had made some mistake and my reservation was not in the system! I was about to freak out, but the counter employee took care of things right away. There was only the large, amazing suite remaining, and he gave that to us for the same price; and included breakfast. Couldn't ask for better customer service. The hotel was very nice, clean, and had an awesome surrounding area! What could have been a very negative situation, turned into a great one! What I couldn't understand is why this hotel is only bringing in 3 1/2 stars. It was a very clean Hilton property with a nice and friendly staff. One of the easiest check-ins I have had in a long time. Now it could be very clean because the property is fairly new and time hasn't caught up with it yet, but from the pool, gym and my room I couldn't see anything that was maintained or cleaned. It is located in a fairly good location about 2 miles from K State and 1.5 mile from aggieville to grab drinks. There are several restaurant options within a couple blocks and of course the in house dining. If you have little kids and it is warm out there are fountains across the street from the front door that they can play in.
