I spend 75 percent of the year working overseas. Been lucky to stay at a few amazing hotels around the world including the ultra luxury Ritz Carlton in Jeddah April 2025, Saudi Arabia; Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong every 6 months since 2022, the Grande Bretagne in Syntagma Square, Athens Greece 2022 and 2024. I was spoiled and pampered and just 24 months ago found out what the Michelin Star rating for a restaurant meant. I had no clue prior.Great for the photos, the hey I was there, the ego, the bucket list .... But here is the true, unassuming champ of all these hotels ;also part of the Marriot network including Ritz Carlton and it is located right here where I grew up - Long Island. I am glowingly talking about the Four Points by Sheraton in Plainview/ Melville on the South service road of the Expressway aka my HOME away from HOME. The people here - the staff are indeed the most important asset and they are golden, they are solid and consistent. Hailey - Manager Extraordinaire- amazing, professional,caring, proactive, so very patient, a genuine person, kind and very aware. She sets the bar for excellent natural customer service. Plus a huge sushi fan and just fun to talk to. Brianna - a great and beautiful soul who is also my foodie pal and just so efficient and calm. She is so effortless & soft spoken yet great and solid at the front desk multitasking between housekeeping staff, a guest checking out, another buying a Cup of Noodles and the phone ringing; making all happy and satisfied with a smile. Superstar Brianna. Nirmala- outstanding person, very caring, on top of everything, always finds a solution. Clifton - the stellar Chef! He is the nicest, most friendly, aware, courteous, humble, outward and super quick Manager/Chef/ all hat wearing Skipper who has this beautiful and great energy; he feeds all of us with the best special omelettes and those killer potatoes. He has become a dear friend as we speak often about our families and better halves. This hotel used to be a motel. It is clean, maintained well; the suites are spectacular, spacious and comfortable. The beds are comfy. I slept really well. The seating area in the suites is roomy and inviting. The showers are strong . The housekeeping team always smiles and is so helpful. The location is so convenient- just off Sunnyside Blvd on the Long Island Expwy only 28 miles from Manhattan and 21 from JFK airport. There are great restaurants in Plainview and Melville close by and the one n only Ralphie's Cafe is a 77 second walk from the lobby. The prices are great. Four Points but Hands Down Five Stars all day! My home away from home! read more

Stayed for a wedding we attended nearby. Check in was simple and the room was clean and comfortable. Small bar/restaurant on site. Was fairly quiet all evening, despite having a busy bar area after the wedding (except for one incident where the fire alarm went off briefly in the middle of the night). Conveniently located off of Exit 48 on the Long Island Expressway. I haven't actually stayed here but have visited this location many time in recent years to attend NMLS licensing CE classes. The facilities here are excellent and well organized. Parking is easy and there is a breakfast buffet and dinner restaurant next to the hotel reception. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights Feb 2-4 because we were in town for a special event not too far away. Once we found it, (what a relief) we were able to register and relax in a handicapped accessible room #129 on the first floor. The room was clean and large with a walk in shower. The major negative to the shower was it was slippery and a couple other grip bars had to be put in place so that a fall could be avoided and the floor had to have more gripping power as well. They helped us with giving a shower chair and a mat. Upon leaving the hotel that last morning, we coincidentally met the owner walking by and offered me some help as I was loading my suitcases on the dolly. He even asked if everything else was ok and if I wanted anything. That was my chance to give him our feedback about the bathroom. He came in and immediately ordered the grip bars from Amazon while talking to me. What a mensch! Now I decided to give a 5 star review. He welcomed my feedback. His name is Alan. We also had breakfast in their little restaurant. The chef was extremely amicable and made us fresh eggs the way we preferred even though they had it buffet style. We were very satisfied. As a platinum elite Marriot Bon Voy member. I am highly distraught and disgusted by the TWO rooms I had to be checked into this past Friday. Flies hovering over the trash can in the room, towels folded with hair, the shower and toilet were used what seemed like moments before I walked in the room. The second room I was changed to had pubic hairs on the towels folded and placed neatly as if fresh and old blood stained sheets. An apology will not suffice for the level of unsanitary practices that occurred on Friday . I did not rest well at all and was already exhausted checking in after 7 pm. I had an emergency to deal with and almost didn't check in on Friday. No one from upper management reached out to me to correct these issues at all. I didn't even receive my Platinum welcome bag nor an itemized receipt as I requested. read more

This hotel is very nice and cozy. I love the colors in the rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There's an outside pool with patio furniture and a restaurant inside the hotel. The only thing you need to worry about is housekeeping. Items were missing from my room on the last day. The front desk will apologize for the missing items and that will be the end of it. One of my credit cards had an unauthorized charge the next morning so that's being investigated and I'll forward that information to the hotel and hopefully they'll do an investigation too. If it wasn't for the missing items I'd give the Four Points Sheraton in Melville 5 stars. read more

The staff here was absolutely amazing. I had just had a HORRIFIC experience with a hotel earlier that night where I was supposed to stay and they gave me a room that was different than what I had booked. So I booked here and they literally came in clutch. Even though we checked in a little late, they were super accommodating, helped us out, and made sure that our stay was everything that was expected. read more

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean. There's a restaurant inside and a pool outside. There's free coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. Rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. You can watch Netflix, prime video, YouTube or Pluto on tv when you log into your account. The only problem I had was 2 of the wall lights had a short in it so it flickered. There's many lights available in the room so it didn't really make a difference. As I was checking out I went to pull the car up so I can load my luggage in the car. As I'm walking back to the room hotel housekeeping had my pets xpen on top of the laundry cart and was wheeling it away. My xpen was right next to my luggage. I told the male housekeeper that the xpen belonged to me. He put it back down and left pretty quickly. As I'm putting things in the car I realized my light jacket was missing. It had a debit card in it. It was with my belongings and now gone. Housekeeping claims they don't know what happened to it. read more

Stayed here for a wedding and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The desk person was very nice and got us into a room early w/o any problems. The room was terrific -tons of space, a nice work desk, big TV with HBO, free wifi, a sofa, and the greatest hotel shower i have ever experienced. The water pressure was so high it seemed as though it was coming through a fire hose from a hydrant. Another rather cool thing I saw were shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers on the shower wall - just press and go ! There is a small bar and restaurant just off the lobby, and although the menus and service hours are rather limited, they still did a nice job on our two visits there. They have a great location just off the highway with easy to see signage. A very nice place. read more

A little difficult find as the signage does not boldly announce the nearly hidden entrance. Once you step into the lobby you find a modern/retro hotel with a very helpful and pleasant staff. The hotel restaurant / bar is also very nice, excellent staff, good food. Breakfast is outstanding. The room was very large, good furnishing, very clean. Even in the corners. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The tub, shower curtain also clean. The carpet is nearly new or just maintained very well. The bed was very comfortable. No sags, no squeaks, just a good night's sleep. I stayed on business for 2 weeks and was totally impressed. read more

Probably should be giving this two stars. But I am feeling generous. Here is why: 1.) The furniture in the room is junk. There were literally parts of the desk and nightstands where the laminate had been broken away exposing particle board below it. It is my guess that this furniture hasn't been changed since this hotel was built over a decade ago. 2.) I don't understand the concept of this chain. I understand that 4 Points is Sheraton's answer to the Extended Stay hotels Holiday Inn and Marriott Offers. Yet, the rooms don't have kitchens the way Staybridge Suites or Marriott Residence Inn do. Why on earth anyone would stay here on business for weeks at a time vs. a Residence Inn is beyond me. Must be for the SPG points. It reminds me more of a Holiday Inn Express with a good restaurant/bar in the lobby. 3.) The room colors are strange. Believe it or not, the carpet is PINK and the walls are a dark pinkish color ... WAY too much pink. The room reminded me more of a nursing home room or cruise ship room than a hotel room. Also the light wood furniture mixed with the pink walls and pink carpet make this feel like a hotel room from the 1990s, even though it was probably built in the 2000s. To me, it felt like a casino or cruise ship. 4.) The room was a little cavernous. It did not have a good 'flow' like a lot of hotel rooms. It seems all the furniture was pushed up against the walls leaving a big empty center of the room. It just didn't feel organized. 5.) The bathroom is hideous. No exaggeration, the toilet is the same sort of toilet you'd find on a ferry boat. There is no tank ... it is just the bowl and seat and the back is thick pipe with a handle on it. I have never seen this in another hotel room. It feels like a boat or high school bathroom. The shower/tub combo is like one of those one piece thin plastic units you see at very discount hardware stores. Yuck. 6.) Everything felt worn and old. Surprising for a Sheraton, which is supposed to be the top of the line. 7.) LOTS of highway noise. It is located right off the Long Island Expressway ... so most of the rooms you can hear truck breaks clacking and wizzing by. This is a huge issue if you are a light sleeper. Okay ... so what's the positive? All I can think about is that you will get Starwood points and this is the ONLY Sheraton branded hotel on Long Island, believe it or not. If you aren't staying here ... you aren't getting your SPG points. And they know this because this place is often 25 - 40% higher in price than comparable hotels (Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn). The staff here seems to have the attitude, 'We are the only SPG game in town.' The bar/restaurant is pretty good. So good that people from town have made this a hot spot. So there is quite a lively bar scene here. They have a lot of beers on tap. It's a mostly male crowd from what I've seen. In the Center of Nassau and Suffolk county, the location is pretty ideal. Convenience-wise having the LIE right next door might be a good thing ... but come night when you are trying to sleep, not so much. If you are looking for some good places to eat nearby, Brachianelli's Pizza is about 20 minutes away and its one of the best pizza and Italian joints I've been to anywhere. Cafe La Streda is great Italian ... as is Mario's. Both within 10 - 20 minutes. I wouldn't stay here again, even if it meant forgoing my Starpoints. But I can see why some might. Free wifi is okay but this place is so overpriced for what you get. read more

This was really a great hotel bar experience. I ordered the New York Strip at 10:00 PM. I asked for rare and it came out medium rare, which meets my expectations outside of a true steakhouse. The steak was well seasoned and the roasted vegetable side was tasty and nicely cooked. I added a seasonal hoppy ale, and was very pleased. Wednesday night is happy hour at the bar with free Hors d'oeuvres. The service was fast and pleasant! read more

My sister and I stayed 5 nights here while on vacation. I loved the hotel, but there are some things that were left out when I had inquired about it. I was quoted 960 ( rounding up ) for the 5 nights. When we're got there it jumped from 960 to 1495. That's a 535 difference we didn't know about. The lady at the desk didn't tell us she was holding a deposit, it want until we checked out that it would be refunded AFTER room inspection. In case we smoked in the room ( we don't smoke ). We were thinking the breakfast was free. It's not! They charged it to your room, again that's fine if it was said. It want! I get charging a room for breakfast if they are staying a few nights, but if you stay for a long period like we did then it should have been free. Again We loved the stay, and would stay again. The people are friendly and the food is good. read more

The hotel is easy to find right off the LIE exit 48. There is plenty of parking and a covered drive up front entrance. There is a 24 hour front desk staff that is friendly and knowledgeable about the area's restaurants and sights. The room was spacious with the usual coffee machine, but there was also a microwave and mini fridge in the dresser that had the coffee machine, bottled water, and in the bathroom the shampoo, soap, and body wash are on the bathtub wall. The jacuzzi worked well. The king size bed had several large pillows. In the large closet are monogrammed bathrobes and a golf-club sized umbrella that are available for the guest's use while staying in the hotel. The only, and it's not that critical, the HVAC's fan is a little noisy. We didn't use the restaurant; we were on Long Island to visit family, and knew there was a meal waiting. They are pet friendly. read more

The stars are for cleanliness inside guest room and building. The other 2 no stars was for hotel efficiency. Our first night, it was announced that water would be cut off fir an hour between 6-7. The next morning when hot water was out unannounced for at least 20 mins. The shower curtain was not efficient as water spilled out all over the bathroom floor despite the fact that it was covered all corners during taking a shower. This is one of Marriott's brands and we never had any problem with other Marriott. I guess not all Marriott hotels are created equal. We will not stay at this hotel again. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel for 6 nights out of necessity. Pros: close to the highway (but not noisy), near to amenities like grocery store and bagel shop, gym was empty and available, room was a good size and was clean. Cons: - the covid-19 protocol was inconsistent. Some days when I used the gym I was asked to sign a waiver and have my temp checked,other days I was not. I saw several staff with their masks below their noses or not on at all. - we did not eat anything from the hotel after seeing chicken being improperly stored (left out unattended on the counter in a bin). Due to the pandemic, service was also extremely limited. The bartender (who did not have a mask on) was rude to my fiancé and asked him "what do you want?" in a condescending tone. - the hotel has a marijuana issue that cost me some important business. Mid-day on Tuesday a fire alarm went off while I was on an important call. It turns out that someone was vaping in a bathroom. The manager was not very apologetic and said something along the lines of: we can't do anything about it - it could have been for medical reasons. On Thursday evening, we returned to the hotel and the lobby wreaked of marijuana, almost comically so. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of others in the area. read more

Website doesn't say "one dog per room" however when we arrived Shelby refused to grant two dogs to the room. I refuse to buy another room which would not be used. Only thing I liked of this place was the lobby! I have stayed at motels better than this. Let's start: Our room was on level H and it was small and dingy. It felt like sleeping in the basement. The two double beds are super small, and room looks crowded. When I got under the covers one of my pillows and the covers smelled like mens cologne. Didn't they changed the sheets? Doubt it! Also my bed had a mattress hole on the left side so you needed to sleep in the hole or be pulled into the hole. The smell in the room - omg. You know when someone is trying to cover musty smell with an air freshener ? Exactly! On Saturday night I was kept up with all the noise of people talking and slamming doors. Definitely it felt like being back in the dorms in college again. At the end we were all sick, sneezing with the dust and aggravated with the strange smell. This place needs to be closed down and the concept rethought. You cant fix the lobby and the bar and forget about the overnight guests. I think it's clear we will never stay here again . read more

We recently stayed at the Four Points Sheraton in Plainview while in New York for a wedding. It was the hotel recommended by the wedding party, and so we got a discounted rate of $135 night, which I thought was pretty decent (at least compared to NYC, where this hotel probably would have been at least twice as much). It didn't look like much from the outside, but the lobby area was nice as well as the room. I signed up (for free) to be a "preferred" member and that scored us a room with vaulted ceilings. Kind of cool. Something that bothered me the whole stay though was the lighting in the room. There was plenty of it, but they were using the high-efficiency light bulbs (which, yes, is good), but it also gave this fluorescent-type glow to the room, which is not relaxing. But I got over it (well, for the most part). The toiletries provided were a nice assortment, a separate shampoo and conditioner and even mouthwash. The staff were either really friendly and helpful or kind of cold, depending on who you were talking to (seemed like the ladies were on the less friendly side for some reason). But they were able to recommend a couple places to eat nearby (La Piazza was a good recommendation) and a taxi company (though we had a rental car for most of our stay, which I would recommend if you're going out of Plainview). The hotel has a free "business center" on the first floor that has two computers with free Internet, so that was awesome. The day I got sick and I didn't want to do anything, we were able to look up movie showtimes nearby. We didn't try the food here ... did get a drink at the bar one night, but it was a Sunday and they were closing early. On Friday and Saturday night it was boisterouos down there with other post-wedding parties ... well after 2 a.m. Surprisingly, our room was not far from the lobby, but we couldn't hear it. A convenience store and gas station is next door and there is a race/betting facility with a restaurant bar behind it, but other than that, nothing's really walking distance from here. But if I was coming to Long Island, I would stay here again. read more

Just checked in today. I will go straight to the point. Outdated Dirty. Especially the toilet. I paid for what they call a king bed suite. It's just a plain room. The sofa bed is dirtier than the dirtiest. The sofa bed mattress looks like it was purchased and used since the 60s or 70s. The stains on it!!! Disgusting. The AC when it turns on sounds like an 18 wheeler blowing next to your ears. The blankets and pillows I bet anything they haven't been washed for a while. Commons areas ??? With the exception of the main lobby everything else is in disrepair. Being a seasoned traveler ( for business and pleasure). I can say with confidence that a lot cheaper hotels are much better that this one. I forgot to add the Marijuana smell in the corridor. I am not exaggerating I am inviting anyone who wants to verify the above to pay $250.00 to experience it. read more

Stayed here for three nights for work. I had a single room with a king size bed. The room was one of the biggest room, I have ever had at a hotel. The quality of the hotel and service was great. They have a small restaurant and bar in the hotel which is nice, but the food is nothing special, plus if you see the restaurant getting busy, go somewhere else, this place was not setup to handle a crowd. Your food will take a looonnnnggg time to get you, plus I heard a bunch of complaints about getting incorrect orders. Eitherway, I like this place and have no issue staying there. read more

Wow were we shocked by the difference between the reviews and comments versus the reality of how bad this hotel truly is. The bar is overpriced and serves wine that's been un-corked for months=no alcohol content and a musty taste. The room's air conditioning is weak and you feel the humidity of outside in your room. The internet not only attempted to give my MACBOOK a virus, but would cut out and was so slow I felt like I was on dial-up. The TV'a clarity reminded me of the 80's. ....and I've only been here 5 hours, I can't imagine how much more ill encounter. RUN! read more

The hotel was OK but I wouldn't stay here again though. You have to pay $1 for coffee in the lobby and this hotel is located in middle of nowhere. If I have to stay in this area again, I would stay at Homewood suite just cross the street from this hotel. At least, Homewood would provide free coffee in the lobby. read more

The Four Points in Plainview is a good comfortable hotel with nice amenities, it is very clean with decent sized rooms. The beds are comfortable and room service was prompt with delivering my food order. They also feature a restaurant off the lobby that made a delicious char grilled burger and have a good selection of ice cold beer on tap. I also like that they have a heat lamp outside the shower to keep you toasty warm as you dry off. Rooms feature a small fridge which I love to have so I can have cold drinks in the room whenever I want. The rooms also feature high speed wireless internet, and a full workout gym. Pricing is decently affordable for the area. This hotel doesn't offer much in terms of views unless staring at I495 gets you excited. I do love the location of this hotel as it is within easy distance of many restaurants and shopping areas. read more

Typically we stay at the Inn at Fox Hollow but for this trip they were completely booked. I found this hotel on booking.com and realized they were pet friendly. There are not many hotels in this area that accept pets so we booked here no hesitation. I called before our arrival to inquire about the pet policy and the young lady that answered let us know that "she thinks it's $25 a night but isn't sure" She let us know that if we tell them our dog is an emotional support animal they won't ask questions and the dog can stay for free and "it would be easier for everyone." I was put off by her lack of basic hotel knowledge but at this point we didn't have any other options. She then transferred me to the reservation department who told me there was only one room left and the price was $219. I checked back on booking.com and saw there were multiple room options for a much lower price. We ended up booking for $169. I don't know if this is a sales tactic but if I were you I'd check third party booking websites before making a final decision. We booked a one king room and upon arrival it seemed clean. After being in the room for a little, were noticed it got muggy quickly. I have terrible allergies so as I write this my face and hands are full of bright red patches. The bed is pretty firm, and their pillows are flat and lumpy but nonetheless it's a place to lay our head at the end of the day. The room is pretty quiet given the fact that it's on a busy road. One night I could hear the person in the room above me walking back and forth and their floor was pretty noisy. We eventually feel asleep and it didn't bother us again. I would book here if it was the only available option but I don't think I would want to go out of my way to get a reservation. read more

No privacy! I stayed here a few days ago and I could not help but worry about people looking inside. I was in level H. And when I look outside I'm a foot away from the pool. I can't shut the blinds for complete privacy. The TV was difficult to control. And like some said. The beds are small. I would never stay here again. read more

Yay! I stayed here for a weekend (because I had a wedding to attend at the Woodbury Country Club). My companion wanted to use his Starwood # so when I called to make the reservation under the wedding block name, I mentioned the number. I didn't expect anything from that, but it turns out we ended up with a "special" room because of it. It was really spacious, had a refrigerator and microwave, and high ceilings. The television was huge and the king sized bed was cushy and comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and had timed heaters. The only issue we experienced was that water dripped out the side of the tub and onto the floor, which made for some messy puddles. We were given complimentary water bottles each day and requests to the front desk were really fast (when I asked for advil, they brought it up to my room within a minute of hanging up). Also, when we asked for an extended checkout, the front desk guy was really friendly and accommodating. The rooms were really clean and the rates were really decent ($99/night). read more
