I'm not sure what this place does with all the money. I've stayed here twice for weddings. It's always booked out because of the lack of options. The group rates are ~$250+. There were renovations being done but I think they just changed the carpet. The AC units look like they are from a late 90s / early 00s motel. They are able to get the room to temperature but it can take 6+ hrs. The room smelled like mold and we realized (after stepping in a puddle) that the ACs were leaking and molding the carpet. Someone needs to open a hotel nearby and provide some competition to drive much needed changes

This HGI location is passable I suppose but not great. I picked this place for a two week work stay because they allow pets and I was bringing my car along. Walls are super thin, so you can hear people talking (and doing other things) in neighboring rooms. Heaven help you if you get some noisy people next door. The building is a bit rundown overall, and my room was less renovated than rooms in the pictures online. Breakfast is not included, if that's something you care about. Service at this Hilton is subpar. I called to request a late check out and was told no despite this supposedly being a perk of being a Gold Hilton Honors member. One night there was a very loud bang on my door. Upon investigation I saw two teenagers roaming the halls kicking the doors simultaneously. I'm not sure if they were trying to break in or just being ignorant little delinquents. When I let the front desk attendant know, they could not have cared less. That was disturbing. On the bright side, parking is free, and they have an ok fitness room. If I need to come back to this area again I'll seek out other accommodations.

Great hotel. It wasn't crowded at all but definitely busy. Very clean. The bar was open and you can order food with your drink of course. The beds are very comfy and the pillows are a dream( no pun intended). The gym was closed although I took a pic of it and the pool opens at 10am. My son ended up losing his iPhone there but some nice patron brought it to the desk and I was able to pick it up. Just says something about the good environment there. The location is good. There are a lot of restaurants near. I was able to check in and out via my Hilton app on my phone plus a digital key to open the door to my room. I hope you go and love it as much as I do.

I have always had good success with Hilton Garden Inns, and while my favorite is still in Roslyn/Port Washington, this is pretty good, too. To be fair, we came to this location in Melville during a time of having the added strain of dealing with the lingering effects of a pandemic, and I personally had issues with how the hotel was dealing with those. I come from California, which ran a pretty strict pandemic, just like NY, but I find things much more relaxed in NY than in CA, surprisingly. My husband and I do NOT trust the current trend to go without masks if vaccinated, which we both are. Covid is NOT gone, and we still wear our masks.... but that's us. So here are the problems we encountered. The hotel staff, for the most part, did not wear their masks as they should have. Some didn't wear any masks, some wore them down on their necks, and only one person that we saw actually wore his mask covering his nose and face. Nobody wore gloves (as the Yelp comments suggest). There was NO social distancing either... but then, there's no social distancing anywhere from what I have seen. NONE of the hotel guests wore masks when we were there, except for me and my husband. There were MANY hand sanitizer machines placed throughout the lobby, and by every elevator on every floor. The problem is that all but one were EMPTY. We were there for 8 days, and they never seemed to get refilled. Trust me, I kept checking. Thank goodness, we had our own hand sanitizer, but it would have been nice to stick our hands under their machines and have them work. We were forewarned that unless we really wanted housekeeping each day, it wasn't going to happen. They have been short-staffed, and their preference was not to have to change linens and/or sheets every day... or any of the days... unless we made a specific request. We figured we were neat enough, so we requested some extra towels and pillows the first day, kept our room neat and clean as we usually do, so we didn't care if they came in or not. To be quite honest, we preferred knowing that they wouldn't enter our room. The other very minor issues were that the ice machines were not always with ice. Some days yes, other days no, and the public trash cans placed near the ice machines were always filled to the brim, not sure they were ever emptied. Also, the elevators and common hallways were very warm and humid, while the rooms were comfortable. I didn't like walking in the warm hallways AT ALL. As for our room, it was very spacious, comfortable and clean. I'm rather surprised I've still awarded 4 stars with all that I mentioned above, BUT we dealt with the above situations because our room was absolutely fine. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved the pillows. There was plenty of room to move about, and I had a really great system for applying my make-up at the desk near the window in that wonderful ergonomic chair that was there. It worked out really well. Also, the shower was wonderful. The stream of water was nice and strong, the angle was perfect, and I didn't slip and slide around. Overall, it was a good experience, and if we don't stay at my daughter's house next time, we'll return to this hotel.

Checked in with my family. I must say , this room is quite filthy. I asked the lady in front desk for another room with double bed and she claims there isn't any availability. I wanted to like the room but there's too much noticeable issues that's difficult for me to ignore. I'm here for 2 days and already want out. Please do better with cleaning the rooms and updating poorly damaged furniture or wallpaper.

This hotel is nice. Plenty of parking, a nice large lobby, a bar area, outdoor seating if you are having a get together, nice big clean rooms, and a hot tub/pool as well as a large fitness room. The breakfast cost extra, so we ended up going out. Luckily they mentioned this because the spread is right out next to the check in area, so it wasn't obvious it cost more. They have a small convenience purchase area by the check in, which of course is over priced, but it is convenient. And the outside area with a firepit was aesthetically nice, but there was some group that was out there pretty late, and I was on the 4th floor and could hear the party outside. I do wish they put a timer on that (or maybe they did tell them to quiet down at some point, but still, it is a hotel, people are trying to sleep). I was in town for a wedding and ended up in a different hotel the next night, but this was the much superior hotel and we got a good last minute price, so it was worth the stay.

Pretty good stay while at this location on beautiful Long Island! This Hilton Garden Inn seems to be slightly tucked away from much of the area, which made it slightly hard to find at first. Customer service at the front desk was exceptional, making my check-in process seamless & efficient. The room itself was without complaint. I have to believe that this building is newly renovated, giving that some of the room number placards were placed on the floor's carpeting temporarily. The brown-cherrywood mixed theme of furniture within the room made me feel comfortable from the moment that I walked into the room. And of course the king-sized bed? It fit like a glove after a long day of work in Manhattan. While I didn't experience the amenities due to how busy I was, the outdoor patio area was inviting for those that wanted to conduct work outside. The highlight of my stay (aside from the more-than-comfortable room) may have been having breakfast. For the price that you pay ($12, I think), you get quite a bit of food, and really good customer service. My coffee & juice were constantly refilled, as well as receiving genuinely pleasant conversation with the server. The housekeepers tended to stay much longer in the day for some reason (6-7:00 PM). They can be quite loud at times (talking nonsense), which is probably my only complaint during my entire stay. Parking is available on all four sides of the building. Access to the local highways are generally pretty easy. Can't wait to return.

We had taken a red eye and called to see if early check in was available. It was over a holiday weekend so the area was busy to begin with. The front desk person we spoke to on the phone was not very friendly and quick to say no. Not a big deal, but was something we noted. During check in, it was the same person and she seemed very distracted. She had down that I was only staying one night, but we had booked five. She was able correct her mistake shortly, but she did not look up at me once! Aside from the unwelcoming energy and mix up on reservations, the check in process was easy. The room itself was spacious. Bed was comforable. The kitchen had all of the necessary kitchenware to make do for a few days. They left one dishwasher packet. The trash cans were tiny for a full size kitchen. The fridge was SO loud, but it did eventually quiet down. We were able to control the temp of the room and it was comfortable during our stay. Cleanliness was ok. I wish I took pictures but there were stains on the walls and the air was a bit musty. The toilet and plumbing had issues. It got clogged several times (I swear it was not a us problem lol) while we were there and each time, someone had to come unclog it or during after hours, we had to unclog it ourselves. It seems they only had one plunger for the whole hotel! We started using the lobby bathroom because it was such an issue. They offer a gym which was clean with a great variety of working equipment. We did not use the pool area, but it was a good size. The hot tub, unfortunately, looked unclean with a large amount of foam. We did not bother because of that. On the morning of check out (around 9AM), we had housekeeping knock on our door two seperate occasions (But within 15 min of each other) to come in and clean. I told them that we would be checking out today and do not need cleaning until after we leave. They asked me what time, so I told them closer to check out time. All morning long, all I could hear was housekeeping knocking on people's doors. It was very bizarre. One big highlight was the breakfast buffet. Having a complimentary hot breakfast with decent and varied options was lovely. They switched things up at the egg/meats bar, but also had cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, baked goods on the daily. A good amount of coughing kids, so bring hand sani and wipes to keep yourself healthy! Overall, a good central location to where we needed to be. Parking was ample. The space was decently comfortable with some room for improvement on the overall experience We loved having a kitchen but did not use it much this trip. I would stay again.
