My first visit. Very large, it has a lot of meeting or conference rooms. The indoor pool is very large. Gym is above average. My room was large and comfortable. Clean nice place. There are only a few things going good for this hotel. The bartender Deb is amazing. She treats you well. The beds are no hard like some other hotels in the area. Now the bad. Most of the workers speak very little English if at all. Your luck if your room gets cleaned a few days a week if your staying for a lo g time. We had piles of dirty towels on the floor and a couple times it took them over 5 days to clean our room after talking to the front desk snd housekeeping asking for it to be cleaned. The walls are duper thin and you can hear your neighbors yelling and fighting. Kids running up and down the hall at night. People smoking weed and other things even though it's a smoke free hotel. Most of the time we were there one or more elevators didn't work. We were here because of work and finally got your move to a better hotel. FYI don't stay here. read more

I'm going to summarize this review with three words. DON'T. STAY. HERE. I was in the process of documenting the pros and cons of this property, but I thought it was More important to just get right to the point. My first room was absolutely filthy. Dust everywhere, bits of food stuck to the nightstand. Inexplicable white liquid stains on the ottoman. Paper thin walls to the point where where you could hear the toilet flush next door as well as the scraping of hangers in the closet next door. The room had broken and worn furniture, appliance cords with visibly exposed wires. The linens on both beds were visibly soiled, and one of the box springs was visibly stained as well. This place has obviously seen better days. As if that weren't bad enough, I noticed what appeared to be mouse droppings on the floor of my first room. I immediately asked to be moved to another room and on the surface that room looked like it was much cleaner than the room I was first assigned to. However after pulling back the sheets and finding dead bugs on the mattress, it was time to go. There were two women working at the front desk during my brief stay: Kara and Nastacia. Kara was empathetic and genuinely seemed interested in helping resolve the situation. She offered to move me to another room and even accompanied me to do an initial inspection of the 2nd room to see if it met my needs. Her colleague Nastacia, however, appeared completely uninterested in assisting me in any way or otherwise helping me find a solution. When I first checked into the hotel, Kara was the person that I communicated my concerns to. However, when I returned to the front desk I noticed she was not there, so I began explaining the situation to Nastacia (since she was the only one behind the front desk) to see if she might be able to help. Before I could finish, Nastacia gestured for me to stop speaking so that she could go get her coworker. It wasn't the fact that she went to go get Kara that bothered me, it was the way she did it. Her demeanor made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with helping me. Additionally, throughout the entire experience she was so passive-aggressive. When Kara would try to suggest a potential solution (such as relocating me to another nearby Marriott property), Nastacia would mumble a critique about the decision, saying what she would have done differently. What I found particularly frustrating was that Nastacia never addressed me directly, even though both of them were standing behind the front desk. Instead, she spoke to Kara about me, and about the situation, as though I wasn't standing right in front of her. Rather than engaging with me as a guest, Nastacia chose to criticize the person who was actively trying to help me. It was incredibly frustrating, dismissive, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Ultimately, I asked Kara if the hotel could have my reservation changed to another Marriott property nearby. She informed me that that was not possible but she did a call nearby Marriott to confirm they had vacancy. I came back this morning to talk to the general manager (Samuel) but the manager on duty, Alba, was the only one available. She was very polite, very professional, and very empathetic. I appreciate the way that she addressed my concerns and I only wish she was on duty the prior evening. I think my experience might have been handled a little differently and with a little bit more empathy where she there. In short, this hotel is old, it's musty, it's filthy, it appears to have evidence of insects and vermin in the rooms and some of the staff seem not to care. I cannot state this strongly enough... If you were to click this Live Photo, you'd see a roach crawling across the bed. This occurred twice, which made me immediately pack up our belongings and bring them straight to the laundromat to ensure I didn't bring roaches into my home. I made a complaint to the front desk, who said a manager would contact us since it was the weekend. Almost $300 a night experience (and 2 nights) and instead of getting a call back from a manager, I received 3,000 Bonvoy points, an equivalent of $30. Skip this one. I come to York a good number of times every year and stay a week or so at a time. So I've been working my way through the Marriott and Hilton properties. After this first night this one's definitely a no. In fact I need to extend my stay another week and I'm going to just move to a different property. It started with trying to check in digitally- I did my part- they never did theirs. That's not uncommon across Marriott their app has never been as reliable as Hilton's. So I arrive after my long flight and drive and drag my luggage through the rain to the lobby where one gentleman is at the desk checking in. 15 minutes later he is still.checking.in. There is zero sense of urgency. No acknowledgement that anyone else has arrived. I don't think he was particularly difficult either. I finally sat on a couch and watched a whole quarter of a football game. When it was my turn- no it wasn't- she needed to take a call with someone on hold. I get being busy but this is all normal stuff and shouldn't take that long or normally when the receptionist sees it's taking a while they have a backup person step in or at least acknowledge you. I get my key (no second one offered) and get my room. It's fine. But definitely looked like it was an attempt to spruce up a pretty run down place. First the elevators are tiny (not compliant for medical evacuation) and only at one end of the hallway. I guess that's fine for it being quieter on the other end of the building, but just know you're gonna have to hike. The tub has a crazy slippery film on it- I've almost slipped twice. The counter is stained. The mirror is one of those neat digital ones- except the clock on it is wrong. The phone intermittently blinks that you have messages and then doesn't- but you can actually use it to call the front desk. It's also labeled for a different room number. So keep your cell charged. The fridge is a nice larger one- so grateful for that. Now I try to get on the internet- it doesn't accept my name and room number. Sometimes it takes a second for it to update. So I go run to the store and come back. Still not updated. In fact my digital key also is still not updated. I send a request through their app to please update my room number for my key and internet. No response. I call the front desk (with my cell because again the room phone is just poor decor and counter space clutter- not functional)- she says oh there's a code for the Internet and if the receptionist didn't give me digital key access when I checked in I can't have it... for the rest of the 6 days. I ask again because I can't believe I'm hearing this right (it's not right, I stay more nights at hotels where we sometimes have to update this than I do in my own home.) nope- they cannot be bothered to fix the digital key. The one key card and no digital option is all I get for the week. Cool. Also for the internet- when you use a code you can't upgrade to the diamond and other duster internet. So work will be slower this week. If you have a personal hot spot I guess bring that. This hotel isn't it for business travel either. The air conditioner works. The sheets and pillows are adequate. The furniture and walls are quite beat up with patches of paint that don't match as an attempt to fix. Another inconvenience- if you DoorDash, DoorDash has completely prevented the option to have your order delivered right to your door- you're going to need to get dressed and go down to the front door to retrieve your order. All the other hotels I've stayed at here in York don't make it this difficult. Just be warned. For the money and location there are better options and better service. read more

The beds are sooooo comfy my husband sleep score was 90 something on his watch haha. The room could've been cleaner ( the rug was extremely dirty ) it did have some things that needed to be cleaned too in bathroom . The woman that checked my husband in was from Florida and super nice ! I was sad this didn't have continental breakfast which was a bummer . One customer (lady ) was flipping out swearing when I was checking out about the fact she didn't get free breakfast for her family or was told she had that option when booking . The staff did not know how to diffuse the situation which is definitely something they need to be trained on and maybe take her aside or tell her she can't behave like that or she will be kicked out because no one wants to hear an adult having a tantrum in early am . It ruins the experience for other people . Everything else on property is pretty clean . read more

The room was really nice, pool was open and large so it didn't feel crowded (although it's like on the second floor which isn't obvious with signage). There were towel and the hot tub was relaxing. So far so good. Staff were friendly at check in, and hotel is clean. Room is super clean and has some nice amenities, including a huge tv, mini fridge, microwave, and in the bathroom and mirror with a Bluetooth speaker inside. Me and my daughter were happy and surprised because we never seen a mirror like this one- so cool. They also have shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers in the bathroom for guests- which is good cause I'm pretty sure I forgot to pack mine. I will update once we go to the pool which my daughter is dragging me to. They also have a whirlpool hot tub which I'm looking forward to to help my back and leg that is bothered by that long trip from NE Philly. Update: went to the pool and it was so much fun! Enjoyed the whirlpool hot tub felt amazing and was just what I needed. My daughter had fun swimming in the pool, a bit too cold for me though. They have heaters inside the pool area too. Four Points by Sheraton York is easy enough to find, being almost directly off of Interstate 83, and has plenty of parking. We needed a hotel due to a last-minute change of plans, and was able to book here with no problems using Marriott rewards points. Hotel is very modern looking and was renovated in 2020. Check-in was smooth without problems. One thing to be aware of, there is no complimentary breakfast, but the hotel does have an on-site restaurant. Our room was clearly aimed at business travelers and surprisingly, had a window that could open. Room had a half carpeted/half wood floor and the beds were comfortable. TV was larger than average. Room also had a full-size mini fridge with microwave. No traditional chest of drawers but instead had cubby holes. Bathroom had some sort of smart mirror that was cool, along with plenty of hot water, and a shower head that delivered enough pressure. Minor problems with the room included not having enough towels for a room with two beds. The shower drain seemed to be slow at a times. Our rooms door at times needed an extra tug to be fully closed, which was perhaps the worst problems with the room. While we did not use them, the fitness center and pool looked nice. There is also event space on the first floor. Our stay here, if we paid out of pocket, would have been in the mid-$100 range, and that seems about right. We did have an unusual charge from the hotel of $29.97 which we got corrected via email. Overall, a very positive stay considering our late booking, and would consider staying here again. read more

Friendly staff, clean rooms, decent menu when you arrive late and just want something to eat... Surprisingly good tasting. Not what we expected for hotel bar food. Recommend the pastrami on rye for sure. The bar chairs are impossibly large, but comfortable. My wife and I could sit in one cozy, but comfortably. Very friendly bar tenders and the patrons enjoy the social nature of the bar area as a result. My wife and I met Karen, had dinner at the bar and great conversation with her resulting in a very pleasant close to an evening at the hotel bar. Very comfortable bed. That's one thing that is consistent across Marriotts and makes a huge difference to my wife and me. Let's face it, you come to a hotel to largely sleep and we did so solidly in the quiet dark comfortable king size bed. The king suite is roomy, two people are not constantly bumping into each other during the evening or morning routine. The room could sleep two parents and two kids easily. Bathrooms are decent, they have "smart mirrors" with embedded display and Bluetooth hookup for audio. I rather enjoy such. The bathroom is a bit tight though; a "one butt bathroom" as we say in our family's gauge of room measurements. It would have been nice to have an "outside sink" for ladies that require lots of "mirror time". The breakfast is $10 each and similar to what you find as the complementary breakfast in other Marriott's. $10 is not much but when we visited, the scrambled eggs were in a soup of yellow water, the sausage links were strangely dusty in your mouth, no napkins anywhere. The service was sub-par and fairly "in your face" about providing cash vs charging to the room or paying with credit card. Hovering over me with a "I need you to sign this" demand earns you a scratch through the tip. Over all, if you avoid the breakfast your stay will be pleasant at this hotel. As it is, I removed a star and we are now headed to a Starbucks to get a decent coffee and edible eggs. As a Bonvoy Gold member, they were happy to provide an upgrade. Not all Marriotts honor the rewards relationship‍. It appears that the hotel was remodeled not too long ago. They did a decent job within a tight budget. All the hotels in the Lancaster / Hershey are fairly overpriced. This one was reasonably priced Marriott in the area. Just avoid the breakfast! read more

Four Points knowingly rented us a room leaking water through the bathroom ceiling and wall. Signs of previous repairs are apparent. Scrape marks from previous repair attempts and fresh coats of paint You can hear the water dripping and there is no way to tell if it is fresh water or sewage. I phoned the front desk for help and the woman tells me there is no maintenance person at the hotel. She also refused to give us another room. This person had absolutely no concern about our issue or the health concerns for my family and our two children. The combination of location and value for a single night on the road motivated us to select this Four Points by Sheraton in York, PA. It was mostly renovated, likely in the mid 2010s. The older pieces are worn. Carpet in the bedroom remained from the past and stopped at the end of the beds where there was a transition to flooring that's easier to clean. The carpet was fraying at the transition point. No fan in the bathroom. Power switch for high tech mirror may have replaced it. Tub (most hotels have eliminated tubs due to slip, trip & fall hazard), which is why i thought Reno was 2010s. Rust on pipe headed to shower. Excellent shower - controls well marked, many selections for water stream. TV recognized our Marriott status. Front desk did not. Bar open to 11, staffed by an experienced lady who knew how to manage the diverse patrons without getting into trouble (No thanks, that's against the rules). Everyone seemed to have a coupon for breakfast except us - adequate breakfast buffet. Single server occasionally had help from front desk person and was busy all the time and everything was very clean. At $10, a great value even paying out of pocket. Wildly diverse fellow guests - multiple foreign languages. One bus in the parking lot overnight. read more

Nice hotel to stay in for the night while on a short trip. I was able to check in early at my requested time and rest after a long early morning flight and drive. The rooms aren't really sound proof so you can hear some conversations in the hallway and maybe in the next room if it's too quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. read more

Would definitely not recommend this hotel to someone traveling from a far. The hotel for a one bedroom I paid $250 for a one night stay. When you arrive they make you pay another deposit and don't tell you beforehand. When we got to the room everything was clean until we went into the bathroom. The shower was broken and spraying water onto the floor. The toilet paper holder was broke and fell on the floor when we tried to grab from it. The guy at the front desk was not helpful at all. I stay at this hotel a few times a week. Mainly for the reason it is one of the few that allows streaming apps. Not once but twice the have double charged me for a room. The first time they actually triple charged me. The first time I let it slide as a fluke accident. This second time the manager had attitude with me over it. Telling me he doesn't have to tell customers what and how much he is charging your card. Where in the world doesn't tell you a total before running your card? There credit card machine doesn't display the price on it either. They tell you to put your card in for incidentals and next thing you know you got a whole new charge. What if I wasn't a check my banking app person? I wonder how many people they get away with this with?! Now AGAIN I have to wait 3 to 5 business days to get a refund of money you should never have taken. Considering a was staying multiple days a week. Slipped twice in the bath tub; luckily grabbed the rail. Colleague slipped once even after I told her the incident on my first night. Told a staff working there. No daily cleaning service unless requested. During the 4 night stay, tissue Kleenex was low from the first night. No body lotion provided; shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are in dispenser over the tub. Who has time to tell to fill it up when you are in the shower when no one checks it every day or other day regularly? No complimentary breakfast as advertised, no restaurant service on premises. We stayed at this hotel for a basketball tournament and loved the location. The hotel has been remodeled and our room with two queen beds was very nice. My daughter especially liked the bathroom mirror which displays the date, time, temperature, and has Bluetooth capability. The staff was very friendly and managed to provide us with tickets to the local baseball team, the York Revolution, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Alma and Jenn were both very helpful when we needed them as was everyone else. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you will be in York or the surrounding area. read more

We have stayed here a couple times. Disappointing. No shampoo in the room, (the morning receptionist was put off by my request for some) another time no soap. Had 3 decaf coffee pods, no regular. Went to lobby at 8:00 am and no coffee made. Had to request a different iron after the first one left water spilled on work shirt. The rooms with adjoining doors are the worse though. You can hear everything! Last time it was a zoom call, heard word for word. This time a actual room party. We got minimum sleep. The bar and food is decent, nice staff there. read more
