First was from the…read morePatient Account Specialist and she did help explain the new charges but was still unwilling to give me an appointment until I gave them a "reservation fee" of $120. She said my crown was there but I could not get it until I paid her for a reservation. While I did have the money, I was unwilling to pay to make an appointment. I think their policy of paying to make an appointment is ridiculous and unheard of. There are simply way too many dentists in Eureka to have to abide by such a draconian policy. The second call I received was from the Office Manager, and she did seem to care about my frustrations and did agree to a payment plan to address the additional (hidden/uninformed) charges. She also lowered the reservation fee from $120 to $100. She explained the reservation fee would be applied towards my procedure; that they employ this concept on longer procedures to help ensure patients show up for their appointments. Although I emphatically disagree with the reservation fee concept, I did pay it (crown hostage fee) so I could make an appointment. Personally, I think Eureka Dental Group should adopt a no-show policy in line with other doctors that charge a no-show fee rather than charging a reservation fee. A couple of days later I received a call from Dr. Wehrmeister. He indicated it was his day off and he was calling because his Office Manager had informed him of my concerns and he wanted to try an address them. Dr. Wehrmeister seemed to genuinely care about my issues with Eureka Dental Group and I was impressed he took the time to call me on his day off to talk thru my recent experiences. After about a 20-minute conversation I felt comfortable Eureka Dental Group valued me as a patient and cared for my satisfaction, despite their unwillingness to concede the reservation fee policy. I went on about my day and received a second call from Dr. Wehrmeister about 15-minutes following our previous conversation. To my surprise, Dr. Wehrmeister said he talked with his Office Manager and they felt the fair thing to do was to pick-up my out of pocket increase that was not communicated to me until after the fact. This was one of my biggest concerns/complaints and I feel they have adequately addressed this concern. Likewise, I am changing my review from 1-star to 4-stars and will give EDG another opportunity to retain my business. Thank you, Dr. Wehrmeister and Eureka Dental Group Team!!

I went in and sat in an also full waiting room. Just there a couple of minutes when one of the staff started calling names to confirm who was there. Right after they started calling people back to their appointments. I was the last one to arrive but I got called back as well. Hayley was my Hygienist and she led me to one of the rooms to get going. She asked a few questions and made notes in my chart, she was super friendly and we got to know each other a little as my appointment went on. Since it was my first official visit and cleaning, I needed a full round of x-rays, something I dread at the dentist office. It was pain free and quick so amazing! The whole process was easy and pleasant. The office is super nice and all of the staff are so personable. When Dr. Welker came in and reviewed everything with me, he took his time, didn't seem rushed, and answered all my questions. When I was done, I got a review of the plan of action for my issues with a cost break down and all information printed for me to take with me. This practice is exactly what I hoped for: - No gimmicks like offering customers potential awards for a 5-star review. - No tricks like saying they accept insurance, while they are not on that provider's 'preferred' list. - No whacky photographers taking pictures of your teeth just as you show up. - No gimmicky office tours with gifts for nice reviews. - No tricks to make make a person spend more money than they have to. Yes, those things and more happened at another dental practice, so I was hesitant. Bogey Hills Dental was great to me. The Dr. and staff were extremely efficient and made the work seem like they could do it with their eyes closed. It was a real relief to find this practice. I like Dr. John Boain and some of the staff but his billing and scheduling appointment, sucks…read more Especially Donna, she always submits the wrong billing code, and I always get a bill after treatment and I also have to pay up front at the time of service and still owe after treatment which, they don't tell me in the office. I'm like what do my insurance cover? So, pay attention to your EOB and bill before making a payment. When I have called to schedule an appointment with Donna, always tells me, we don't have an appointment available till four or five months from now. I'll go on the Boain website and see a lot of appointment times slots that's available less than a month to schedule. Terrible billing and scheduling department. It's best to self-schedule your appointments online.

Then she led me to the room were she took more ex rays and cleaned my teeth. She polished my teeth and introduced me to the dentist. The dentist was very nice as was everyone else. He looked over my teeth. He made a few more assessments. He complimented my teeth and said he will see mee in 6 months. I was very impressed with all of the staff. They were exceptional. I personally dont like going to the doctor or dentist. I don't have any childhood trauma. But I don't care for going. I didn't express this to them. But they made it a pleasurable experience.
