We like it here and use them every time we travel. I feel our dogs are safe and that's what's most important to us.

We have brought our dog here since we've had him, he's about 1.5 years old. He loved it, we were so happy. Daycare and boarding was great. HOWEVER, we received a call that our dog had a scratch during daycare and it "didn't happen there." It sounded like no big deal. When we picked him up, there was a gash/hole on our dog's side. It looked like he might have gotten stuck on a toy or the fence and rippled himself out. I don't blame Four Season's for him getting hurt there. What I will blame them for is for lying, saying it didn't happen there, and making it sound like no big deal. We had to rush him to the vet when we picked him up and he needed four staples. He was put on antibiotics for a week and we had to put a shirt on him. Like I said, I don't blame them for my dog getting hurt but we will not bring our dog back here because I don't want to be lied to. Also make a note, there were Facebook photos uploaded showing him before the incident and after proving it 100 percent happened there. read more

I have been taking my beagle, Jack, to four seasons for almost 2 years now. He goes full time while I work and every once in a while i have to board him. Each dog gets their own rooms & goes out in small groups which is perfect for my dog because he has anxiety. Every morning Jack knows that we are going to go see his friends & play. You can tell he enjoys himself becuase he has never once fought me to go. The staff is incredible (Bri, Audrey, Natalie & Doug!) & we love Dr. Boarsh & Dr. Southgate! We have been going here for the past few months My dog is the light of my life. And honestly, This is the only place I trust to really take care of her the way I would. They have a very attentive staff and lots of systems in place to deal with every type of dog behavior. I feel that my dog is safe there. Furthermore, I love the front desk staff! They are very kind, friendly, and communicative. They don't make you feel bad taking their time and they clearly know what's going on in the back areas where the dogs area. Their communication is tight and effective. They also always seem to have plenty of staff on duty. Even during high traffic times, I'm rarely left waiting more than a minute or two. All I wanted was a more convenient kennel than my usual, pretty awesome place up in Rowley. Hate to say it, but I'm feeling ripped off after boarding my beast here for 2 days and paying an astronomical amount of money to do so. Let's start with only being able to pick him up between 9 and 11am on Sunday or he has to spend another night (which kinda puts a damper on that ski weekend), add in their insisting that he get another 1 yr DHLPP (no self-respecting vet is doing 1 year distempers any more) to be there (and they were happy to perform this "convenience" for me.. + exam fees.. and a fecal.. and a heartworm pill in January.. and Frontline), and end with I'm just not happy with the amazing expense that I apparently, stupidly, agreed to. And they charged an actual deposit to my debit card in advance. I didn't feel any TLC vibes, either, which is the most important part, right? Sometimes it really is all about the Benjamins. My dog Macy loves it here! She stayed a week last April and when we picked her up, she wanted to go back in with the girl that worked there lol! She went back again for one night this weekend. She was so happy and fell asleep when she came home. I'm sure she's tired from playing with her doggie friends. I feel safe leaving her here! Back in April, I had booked a different place and when I went to check it out was afraid to get out of the car and switched to Four Seasons. You can tell when a dog has been having fun by the way they act when coming home. I know that Macy loves it here! They also, post pic on their Facebook page of the dogs playing and they always answer calls when checking in to see how your dog is doing. read more

Never again - heed your fellow yelpers on this one. I chose this place because it was convenient to Salem where I was going for the weekend, it seemed alright because it said and I quote **** "Owned and operated by veterinary professionals and trained staff, we are also affiliated with the veterinary hospital conveniently located next door." ***** on the site. Not true. I called the veterinary clinic after my bad experience and they denied that they were affiliated in any way and that there is no veterinary doctor or staff on site. (perhaps we could see their credentials at Four Seasons because nothing was displayed on any wall) My dogs had food that I sent - fresh homemade due to dietary restrictions and a brand new bag of semi expensive grain free food. I asked how they ate - they said - oh they just picked but didn't eat much. Well - the bag was half empty of the dry food and there was no wet food. I know my dogs will not eat the dry by itself - it has to be mixed with the wet - didn't happen - they were starved when I took them back to Salem - 10 minutes away - and fed them. They never gave me the container of wet food back (I made like 6 lbs of it - they were there for 2 nights) because I figured - like ANY other place that I have boarded them - I would get the remainder back. She said she "lost" the container (we figured she realized it was still untouched and she couldn't bring it out that quickly) and that the dogs were only fed the dry because it was easier for them - and they didn't eat it - hence they picked - hence they were starved! In the meantime - I called after I left - they lost my $65 Seresto collar. I called - they said they would look for it and call me back - nothing. I called again - Jack maybe? took a message - I never heard back. I never got my collar back. There is no room for your dogs to run. There is a 20 foot maybe by 10 foot lawn in the side of their parking lot - fenced in - cant see over it. Kelly is the owner - she was the one who told us they would look for it - they would take care of it - they would do something about it (like not return any phone call?) I will be reporting them to the better business bureau as well. Kelly couldn't keep a story line as she spoke and she was all over the place. She would stop mid sentence - forget what she was saying - seemed as if she was out of it. I will never bring my pet there again it was a horrible experience and after paying hundreds of dollars and then they cant come up with a collar after an afternoon - are you kidding? never - will be sure to tell all my fellow pet owners that own boats in salem and board their dogs to skip this dump. read more

If I could rate this place a negative 10 stars, I would. When we toured this place to see the accommodations and meet the staff, we felt confident in boarding our black lab and four cats. We were quoted a total price of a little over$700 and told we would be sent pictures of the pets through out the week. We called every couple of days and were told they were all settling in and doing fine and pictures were on the way. We never received any pictures and my cats were not fine when we picked them up 7 days later. All of the cats were thinner and sneezing, but one of them looked very thin, sick and was falling over when I got her home. We had an emergency trip to the vet the next day, she had lost 2lbs in 7 days, was suffering from dehydration, low blood sugar and had a respiratory infection. The vet visit was $370, and to top it off, when we checked out, we were charged $200 more than the estimated quote. It was approximately $900 to leave them in their neglectful care. Update; I called to speak to the manager, he said he would let the owner know what happened and she would call me. Eight days have passed and she has not called, it appears they could care less about the pets they are trusted to care for, they just want the money, shame on your whole staff. And see you in court. UPDATE A year and a half later I am still trying to get this owner to pay the court awarded damages. This woman's behavior has been absolutely bizarre. She talks in circles and makes no sense. Other clients have contacted me through Yelp to tell me of their recent horrible experiences with this business. This is not a safe place to board your pet and the MSPCA has been notified. read more

Extremely unprofessional staff and dirty premises. I had made a reservation in person, filled out all paper work and called a few times to make sure everything was in order. When I called to ask what would be latest time to drop off my dogs, they had lost all my paperwork and had no idea I had a reservation. The manager kept saying I had never gone to make the reservation and I did. I still had to leave my dogs for 5 nights and they didn't send pictures unless I called and asked for them. They promise complimentary showers and more walks for the dogs which did not happen. I did not get back all of the blankets I had dropped off because they mix them with other dog's. The staff had a horrible attitude and didn't get along. Do yourself a favor and don't leave your dogs in that awful place. read more

Really have to disagree STRONGLY with the previous reviewer. I have been taking my dogs there for many years through the recommendation of another happy client. Their requirements of having shots, heartworm, frontline and fecals are for your pet's protection. And having their vet there is a convenience. He is also not expensive. By the way, Sundays you can pick up also between 4 and 6. My dogs (current one and prior) have always come home happy, healthy and clean. The girls are great and personal with the animals and pay attention to special requests. A lot of TLC, I think.The dogs also get a lot of playtime with the other animals by size and I know this is fun for my pet. They show pictures at the front desk, on their FaceBook page and often send you a letter after with a photo. Very personal. Their fees are fair, not cheap, but with my experience there I think reasonable. They have been fair about deposits and cancellations- think like a bed & breakfast for your dog. It is small so they need to manage their reservations which they are happy to explain their consistent policies and make adjustments to your reservation. All in all, my pet is safe, happy and will come home healthy without trauma. Love 4 Seasons. read more

We have an almost nine month old Basset Hound puppy that we got at 8 weeks. When I called around looking for a place to socialed Lucy I was told she would need to be 4 months old. Four Seasons Pet Resort took her into their Doggie Day Care program early on for us. They answered our questions, made us feel at ease, especially being first time puppy parents. Kelly, the owner and her staff love Lucy and treat her like she is their pet. Lucy gets very excited to attend Four Season Pet Resort and has made some great friends in attending. We have also boarded Luch at Four Seasons Pet Resort and we feel extremely comfortable in sending her ther for the night or longer. She is treated like part of the family. We have gotten updates on Lucy during her stay and when Lucy isn't feeling well we get a call to tell us. I took my two small dogs here for a weekend while I went away in August. I put in a reservation online and they called me back right away. They took care of getting all the information from my vet needed for their stay. I dropped them off early morning on a Friday and picked them up on a Sunday afternoon which counted as 3 days. The facility was very clean and has great features for the pets. A tv in each in each room...how cute is that? I was going to give the resort a call to see how they did their first night while I was away but before could do that they had sent me an email with pictures of they dogs enjoying their stay. This put my mind at ease. My dogs came home clean, happy and healthy. The staff there were all friendly and helpful. I am thinking of having them do a few days a week of doggie day care there while I'm at work since I was so impressed by this facility. read more

We've been boarding our dog here when we travel for about 1 1/2 years now; mostly for a week at a time. We live in Swampscott so it is a bit of a drive to get there; but well worth it. She is pampered and treated very well and is in a nice sized mini-room, with a dog bed and a tv (she likes the cartoon channel and the sound of the voices). She gets an outdoor potty and play break every two hours during the day (she's small and that's what she needs). We get email updates and pictures of her playing with the other dogs in her size category. She is happy when we get there (no stress or bad reactions) so I know they treat her well. They are very careful about the health/shots requirements for dogs that board there; after all they want all dogs to be safe...I get that and am glad they are strict on that. As for price, they are consistent with other boarders at this level of care. Let's face it if you want your dog in a nice sized run-room with a play break every couple of hourse, then you have to pay more than you do for other places that just stick your pet in a crate and forget her. We highly recommend this place. read more

I've used this place several times over the past few years to board my 3 dogs and 2 cats. Over this period the service has gotten worse and worse. It was great when I started but after the last time, I'm DONE! This is what happened. When I dropped off my animals, I told the guy that the 2nd cat was coming in about 1/2 hour as she now lives with my daughter. The second cat (who was boarded there several times before, and is under my name) was to be housed with my cat (who I dropped off with my dogs). My daughter's boyfriend was also bringing his cat for boarding. I add this because of what happened at the end - note that he does NOT have the same last name as we do, NOR should his cat in any way be linked to me/my daughter at this point. The guy says he can't get my info as the computer is not working. So he brings me up to put my cat into the boarding area (I've seen it before). I inform him that the other cat is coming and should be housed in this area with my cat. He says he understands. He assures me that I will receive pics of all my animals while I am away. I give him a bag of food for the dogs, and one for the cat - all unopened, brand new Blue Buffalo (just wait!). So I get back 7 days later having not received any pics of the animals. I go to pick them up and the dogs seem to be fine. I go upstairs with the guy to get my cat. He goes to a different area and starts to open an area that has my cat's name. Mentions that he's an escape artist. I said that the cat he's getting is NOT my cat (it's my daughter's boyfriend's cat) and WHY did he confuse them?!. Remember...this is the SAME guy who I turned my animals over to 1 week prior! I pointed to where I had PUT my cat 1 week ago (and I could see her) and told him THIS is my cat. He was confused. Finally got the right cat...and went downstairs to pay the bill. I got back 1 bag of dog food with about 1" of food left (about right I think). I asked where the rest of the cat food was? He had NO idea! I know for a FACT that my daughter AND her boyfriend brought their OWN food. EVEN IF he used the food I brought for ALL THREE cats there should have been some left. So I'm out about $25 worth of food. He THEN tells me that he can't tell me what my total charges will be...the computer is down again. He says he'll call me before the end of the day with the amount. TWO DAYS LATER I call and have to leave a message - I ask what is going on with the total bill and WHERE is the food and WHY hasn't anyone called me back? I am very nice on the phone at this point. Again TWO DAYS LATER I'm a bit angry. So I leave a rather firm message - no nastiness, only VERY firm telling them to call me. Again TWO DAYS LATER I get a call from a woman - I think it's the owner. Here's how the conversation went: Me: Hello? Owner: this is 4 Season's. You asked for a call? (silence) Me: Yes. Owner: (silent). Me: I haven't received a call about how much I was charged. Owner: (states price). Me: Can I get a break down? Owner: I don't have it. Me: What happened to the food I left for my cat? There should have been some left? Was it used for other cats besides my own? Owner: I have no idea. Me: I didn't get any pictures, the computer is down and no one seems to care. I could have walked away with ANYONE'S pet. Owner: Yeah, we've been really busy lately. (silence). Me: Fine. Goodbye. She seemed bored with the conversation, as if saying I'm calling but I really could NOT care less about this. HUGE attitude problem. I am NOT kidding! She did NOT care at all what my experience was. I was NOT expecting a refund or anything but could she have at least said I'm sorry for your experience....or SOMETHING?!!! I had planned on boarding my animals with her 4 more times this year alone. If you know how much money it costs to board 3 dogs and 2 cats, you can figure out that she lost a TON of money. Oh, and I've made sure to tell the vet in front of the building. STAY AWAY! read more

I really do think that my dog enjoys staying here. All I have to say is, "Who wants to go to the pet resort?" and she runs to the front door and barks until we leave! And once we get there she can hardly wait to see the other dogs. I appreciate the care they take with all of the dogs there and the photos they send by email of your pet enjoying their stay is a plus! The animals always come first no matter what. They always have clean water, they're always supervised, and the staff love them and treat them all as if they were all their own. My husband and I found Four Seasons by going an internet search. I have now since brought my 2 dogs Cooper and Mercedes here twice. My dogs are my children and it took me some time to find a place I feel comfortable and is like home for my dogs. On my first visit I was shown a tour of the rooms and outdoor facility's. I love that there room is a great sized (not small at all) and they get a TV. This place has been nothing but helpful with any questions. Cooper and Mercedes come home happy and healthy and in my eyes that is all that matters. Thank you for all you do. read more

SO thankful for the neighbor who recommended this fabulous place! The staff went way, way beyond any kennel I have experienced. I have a sensitive dog who had a bad experience the week before her stay here. (The last place did not give her enough water and she was dehydrated, sick for 2 days. She also appeared shaken when I picked her up at the last place, an unusual response for her.) Four Seasons is staffed with people who LOVE & UNDERSTAND dogs. They also offer fabulous baths and nail trims, which my 112 pound, triple thick fur pooch actually ENJOYED. The price for this was 1/2 of her usual grooming fee, and my offer of a tip was refused by the person who made my pup fluffy and squeaky clean. The staff also told me to being her bed in, which was VERY smelly from her vomiting on it the week before from being dehydrated. They washed the whole thing and put it back together FOR FREE. I was invited to bring it in any time, they are happy to wash the beds in their huge washing machine. The best seal of approval was my dog, who was all smiles, VERY RELAXED, and in no hurry to leave when I picked her up. She also did not have to go to the bathroom, which means to me she was recently walked. Re the criticism about charging for an entire day when the dog or cat was not there for another whole day, they have VERY FAIR pick up and charging policies. I brought my dog in one evening, picked her up before 11am two days later, was charged for two, not three, days. I would and do HIGHLY RECOMMEND Four Seasons for day care &/or kennel care. read more

Our dog goes to daycare here two days per week, and we had him stay there for several days during a trip. Every staff member I've interacted with seems to genuinely care about the animals. They also post lots of pics to Facebook so you can sometimes see what your dog is up to. read more
