We saw a billboard for Sugarland playing at the casino, on our way up to Traverse City (another camping excursion). A quick mobile search and I also discovered the campgrounds. A little more per night for weekends and concert nights, but oh so worth it for the full hookups and services. You have to call to book a site but each site is a concert pad, with picnic table, grill and small fire pit with grate. Full hook ups include 30/50 amp service, sewer and water. Score!! Don't have to worry about quick showers or doing dishes. We could have stayed a week, but it was only three days and two nights. They have a very nice lake for campers and a big lake float for kids to jump. Kayaks and canoes to rent. A pavilion for gatherings, and even a community fire pit if campers want to get a jam session going. The casino shuttle is 24/7. It runs every 15 minutes to take you to the casino until 11pm, but will be available to bring you back to the campgrounds anytime - just call the number. We didn't have to worry about driving and parking on a Friday night (concert parking too). We were dropped and picked up at the door. Barely a wait on either trip. The Park has a small store with necessities and fun stuff. The shuttle will also take you to the water park but that is a separate charge (very kid-centric). Campers have comp use of the hotel pool and sauna; just check in at the desk and they can see your reservation at the campgrounds and give you a pass. LOVE LOVE LOVE - we will surely be back soon.

Sites are surrounded by mowed grass. Canoe, kayak, and paddle boat rentals are available on site, and no fishing license is needed. Clean restroom and shower facilities, and onsite laundry. Free WiFi available; we were surprised to find it was FAST and reliable! Hubby is retired military, and we were offered a 20% military discount. Will definitely return!

We were able to hear the waves crashing and we basically had a private beach. You couldn't book online, but the person who helped us set up the reservation was very courteous. When we arrived with our camper, the manager actually rode his bike in front of us to guide us to our spot and helped my husband as he was backing up the camper so that the door would open right on the cement pad. It does come with an above ground half barrel firepit. We didn't use their facilities since we had full hookup (I'm pretty sure all the spots have full hookup). The playground, albeit small, was within view of our campsite so we were ok with letting the kids go play on it while we set up camp. And it looks like they have a boat onsite that you can charter out for fishing, but with just the 4 of us and 2 of us until the age of 7, it wouldn't have been a value add to the quality of our trip, especially since I was pretty familiar with the Tawas area and we were less than 10 minutes from downtown. If you're looking for a party campground, this isn't it. There are a lot of seasonal and permanent residents onsite, so weekend sites are hard to come by. My family enjoyed the experience so much, we plan on calling them early next year to try to get the same spot way in advance so we can go swimming from our own private beach again! Through a Google search, we found this campground. This campground is quiet, exceptionally well-cared for, convenient y located to all Tawas and West Branch attractions and located on a beautiful piece of property. The owners and hosts, Calvin and Jeannie, are wonderful people who will make you feel right at home. Though tent camping sites are available, we decided to splurge and rent a glamping cabin with a king bed. It was the perfect blend of luxury and the rustic feel of being in nature. We enjoyed meandering around the well marked trails and relaxing at the river, just a short walk from the campground. The spring birds were plentiful, allowing a quiet alternative to the more crowded Tawas spots. The glamping cabin was immaculately clean, the bed was firm and the bedding was very nice. The ceiling fan, standing fan and mini heater allow for a comfortable sleeping and relaxing environment. We enjoyed afternoons in the hammock, evening fires and then relaxing in bed streaming our favorite Netflix shows while eating microwave popcorn (we brought the food and technology; microwave, fridge and wifi provided) Every camper knows the sacrifices made while visiting the restrooms and showers. No sacrificing needed here. The facilities are large and super clean. They even smell amazing and are tastefully decorated. We were provided with a golf cart to trek back and forth to the restroom which was appreciated at night. What a treat! The campground is primarily seasonal campers with many sites for RV's and more limited tent camping, with and without utilities. The crowd seems older and quiet though there is a cute little playground and lots of space for kids to explore nature. Our grandson would love fishing from the river. This visit may have been our first but it won't be our last. We almost hate to write this review and risk this gem becoming more popular. Alas, we want the owners to enjoy wild success as they provide such a wonderful place to enjoy nature.

Don't be lured in by their promises of pseudo-Yeti tumblers (ours mysteriously never materialized, even after we purchased a membership; in hindsight we should have seen their unavailability as a harbinger of things to come vis-a-vis actually procuring a campsite). In all fairness, we DID get two t-shirts which were hideous but made lovely truck-washing rags when cut up. If you ignore my advice and buy a membership, expect zero site availability unless you want to rent one of their trailers (which in our experience and that of many others with whom we've spoken, sit empty, their only discernible purpose in keeping members from utilizing those sites). I won't go into the promises they make during their sales spiel. Suffice it to say that I'm suitably impressed that their salespersons' pants haven't all gone up in flames by midday, errydarnday. No matter what they tell you, it's obvious (in hindsight) that they've oversold, and continue to sell memberships while not adding any campsites (in reality DELETING campsites by clogging them up with their rental trailers which occupy sites for weeks on end with no occupants in sight, instead of parking the trailers out back until needed like any reputable business with any interest whatsoever in customer satisfaction would do). In short, use your hard-earned money to buy a cute little acre somewhere, run in electricity, dig a well, and put in septic. You will still be thousands of dollars ahead, and your property taxes won't be any more than the monthly maintenance fees you would pay on property you can't even use. Best of all, you'll be able to CAMP, which is sort of the point, right?

On the negatives, there is no charm or personality and NO internet. For us we live on the internet even retired. Out hobbies are all on line, we do a lot of reading and research on line and you can forget that here. You will get NO Verizon or AT&T, none. We are outfitted with Cell and WI-FI boosters and they do nothing out here. And as far as the free WI-FI that ODA promotes, it a laugh! 1 mps up/down (that is the stated deliverable), speeds that went out with dial up. And ODA has the audacity to want to charge it's lifetime members $28/week for minimally more speed. There is no justification for this. As a result we cut our vacation 4 days short. We will only come back once ODA guarantees higher speed.

She said that was her but the woman that answered the phone seemed like she didn't have the time of day for me and also had a really bad attitude. After she treated me this way I would never recommend any family or friends to go there. There is plenty of other campgrounds next to the lake to stay at. The lady that answered the phone needs to learn how to talk and treat potential customers.
