Oh Michigan - you do like your camping in the summer. We have fallen into the RV-5th wheel club ourselves and love it. Especially when you find a campground like Soaring Eagle Hideaway. We saw a billboard for Sugarland playing at the casino, on our way up to Traverse City (another camping excursion). A quick mobile search and I also discovered the campgrounds. A little more per night for weekends and concert nights, but oh so worth it for the full hookups and services. You have to call to book a site but each site is a concert pad, with picnic table, grill and small fire pit with grate. Full hook ups include 30/50 amp service, sewer and water. Score!! Don't have to worry about quick showers or doing dishes. We could have stayed a week, but it was only three days and two nights. They have a very nice lake for campers and a big lake float for kids to jump. Kayaks and canoes to rent. A pavilion for gatherings, and even a community fire pit if campers want to get a jam session going. The casino shuttle is 24/7. It runs every 15 minutes to take you to the casino until 11pm, but will be available to bring you back to the campgrounds anytime - just call the number. We didn't have to worry about driving and parking on a Friday night (concert parking too). We were dropped and picked up at the door. Barely a wait on either trip. The Park has a small store with necessities and fun stuff. The shuttle will also take you to the water park but that is a separate charge (very kid-centric). Campers have comp use of the hotel pool and sauna; just check in at the desk and they can see your reservation at the campgrounds and give you a pass. Great find!! Beautiful park located on the shores of a private lake. Sites are concrete and quite level. Each site is equipped with a BBQ, fire pit, and picnic table. Sites are surrounded by mowed grass. Canoe, kayak, and paddle boat rentals are available on site, and no fishing license is needed. Clean restroom and shower facilities, and onsite laundry. Free WiFi available; we were surprised to find it was FAST and reliable! Hubby is retired military, and we were offered a 20% military discount. Will definitely return! read more

I noticed the reviews here were old so I figured an up-to-date experience may be helpful for anyone considering a stay. This was our first time staying here. Luckily it was only for a couple days because there was a lot to be desired. But it wasn't all bad. Below are the pros and cons from our recent stay: Pros: 1. Great fishing. Kids caught several dozen bluegill off the dock which was very exciting for them. 2. Easy, full hookup for the RV. Yeah! 3. Easy reservations and check-in. 4. Beach chairs available for use. Cons: 1. No trees around the sites. It was over 90 degrees so that made the sites hot and unenjoyable. Also couldn't use the playground due to lack of shade. 2. Poison Ivy everywhere! All the walking paths, dog path and around the campsites were all covered in poison ivy. 3. Lots of trash and dog poo around the park/beach and more trash in the water. I am not really faulting the staff because people should pick up after themselves but it was pretty dirty and unappealing visually. 4. Camp store was closed without warning. Was open one day then a sign said it was closed suddenly. Another big bummer because we didn't bring firewood and then couldn't purchase any either. 5. Close to some sort of race car/bike track. Engine sounds overpowering until around 10/11pm nightly. We probably should've researched this, but we didn't so the loud sounds were unexpected. 6. Expensive! If you're not using the hotel pool (we weren't) then there's definitely nicer and cheaper campgrounds around. Based on our experience we wouldn't likely camp here again since there are other places close by with more natural sites for less cost. read more

This was either a high three or low four star RV Park. We spent 5 days here from Monday to Saturday so the grandkids could go to the waterpark for a few days. It was easy to find and everyone we met from the park staff was friendly and willing to help with problems. The park was clean and quiet....no noisy neighbors. Close to shopping and several restaurants and the waterpark. Now for the negatives......THERE IS NO CABLE TELEVISION.... NONE... NADA...YOU ONLY GET ONE ACTUAL CHANNEL, that would be CBS out of the Tri cities. Yes, someone will say no there is PBS and an independent channel but really, who watches those? So you must bring your own dish antenna or just not watch TV. For such a nice park that is only a few years old I can't understand why they wouldn't have put in cable. The bugs.....we had a back in site that sat backed up to a small creek, a creek full of cat tails and other water grasses that support all types of insect life. The mosquitos are numerous. Make sure you keep track of your pets and small children as the mosquitos could carry them off. I couldn't stay outside for a long period of time without a couple of dozen bites. We did not swim in the lake after I checked out the beach area...i wasn't impressed...but we went to the waterpark for a couple of days and you get a 50% discount for staying in the RV park. Would I return for a stay? Yes, I probably would if we were going to the waterpark. read more

Stayed numerous times. I find the grounds kept up and staff friendly. Only real issues is getting into the camping spots. Very tight some hard to maneuver but overall nice place to spend a weekend. Also you can take the shuttle to the water park or casino for free. read more

We booked the Hideaway Campground back in March of this year for a family fun trip. We looked forward to use of the lake, water park, carnival and casino. We had a great time at the water park, casino and carnival. We were treated with respect from all the staff we came across and everything was top-notch clean and classy at the water park and casino, then there is the Campground... The call center was rude and had no clue about reserving sites, we requested sites 31,32,33 one person said we would have the sites the next person said someone was on site 31 for weeks. When checking in the staff was rude, the fella directed us to drive the wrong way which took us out of the park. This was not a one-time accident, we sat and watched 5 others drive out of the park and back around from his directions. The beach area is always covered with geese poo (picture attached) so it was hard to use the amenities with young kids. Over the course of our 5 night stay they raked the beach once. Depending on who is working rules for swimming would change. (Lifejackets must be worn on the trampoline by all vs children under 12 must wear lifejackets this rule is not listed anywhere) The trampoline began to loose air on July 3rd at 2pm we went to the office to request it to be refilled, the lady working replayed, "it won't be fixed today." Playground did not have enough wood chips under the play area and large uncovered rocky areas were unsafe. Shuttles did not run every thirty minutes, on Monday night they were unable to keep up with the demand leaving us waiting for an hour for a ride from the casino. The cost of this Campground is obviously not going back into the upkeep and satisfaction of its customers. Will never stay again. Too much money for low class service! read more
