Been dying to try this place since moving to Lynn, and bummed that I waited this long. We first got there and they told us the wait was 45 minutes, so we grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered some drinks and the candied garlic spareribs (they were out of this world). The bartenders were very friendly, even though they were super busy. They have a great selection of beer, from local crafts to Narragansett. They also have an extensive and unique drink menu. We were seated outside in about 20 minutes. They have a great menu. Everything from pizza to a variety of mac & cheese, to salads. I ordered the big salad with grilled chicken (adding protein to salad is not on the menu but they let you do it), and my mom ordered a veggie burger. My salad was delicious - the chicken was cooked perfectly! The veggie burger was homemade and so delicious. The view is also on another level! The restaurant sits right on Sluice Pond, and watching the sunset was beautiful. I'm so excited to have finally eaten here and I can't wait to come back. read more

The 4 Winds has been a staple in Wyoma Sq for better than 75 years. I remember being in there in the early 70's. Its renovated and absolutely wonderful now. Went to Four Winds for dinner with husband and friend. Sat at bar and ordered drinks and dinner. Waited and waited! Asked bartender to check on order but was simply told it's coming. Friend who ordered on separate check got her food and was done eating but we still didn't get ours. Finally asked for check to pay for drinks but food was on bill. Asked bartender to remove food items but got snippy answer saying only a manager could do that and then came around bar and got in my husbands face. Manager did apologize and resolved issue. The Four Winds has been one of my favorite places to go since moving to the area over four years ago. We are here almost weekly for either lunch or dinner whether it's summer or winter. The bar and wait staff are always super helpful and friendly. The food and service are always excellent. We've ordered several things off the menu and we've never had a bad meal here. We've taken friends and family here for meals and they always really enjoy it. Now with Covid, we've seen how the staff handles the regulations and they are vigilant. In the rainy day came by to have dinner alone. This is my second time here but a bit disappointed this time because my steak tip came out overcooked. Last time I came here, the steak tip was amazing... however, dry rub seasoning was so good I couldnt stop eating even the meat was dry and rough. Located on Broadway on the Peabody line this is a safe neighborhood bar stuffed with regulars. On the shores of Sluice pond, if you look away from any of the flat screen's and glance out the windows you'll think your somewhere in NH. Nice patio that makes you feel like your hanging over the water. Very small place, the bar holds maybe 16 stools?. About eight tables. Jukebox and some live entertainment of Saturdays. No taps here, just bottles, they have a small menu & usually some specials. Fair prices, cold beers, food better than you would think. Usually very packed, & the parking lot is small. read more

Echoing Rose C's review, I had an identical experience today. I've been coming here pretty consistently ever since purchasing a home in Lynn. While I can say Lynn has a lot of beauty, my experience at the four winds sadly highlights the racism that still persists in the city. The manager, who I've heard comments about before, was extremely disrespectful. His reasoning behind not serving us made no sense whatsoever and ultimately just showed sadly showed his prejudice and racism. To be honest, his interaction wasn't as bad as the one we had with one of the most unprofessional waitress I've ever had. She kept staring, laughing, and making side comments. Let's keep it real here, without being disrespectful, but you are a waitress. Humble yourself. It will do you well. Ok, After having lunch here a few weeks ago and enjoying the patio on the water as well as great food we decided to go here for Mother's Day. Beautiful weather for outdoor dining. Worst service EVER! I have never in my LIFE experienced such HORRIBLE service! I waited 40 minutes for a waitress to come to my table. When that didn't happen, I called for a manager and asked her if she knew who our waitress was and explained that we had been sitting there all that time. With attitude, she said they were busy. Although we watched three other tables that came in after us get drinks and food, two of those tables had already left. So the other waitresses weren't having any trouble with how busy they were. The manager gave us menus. We waited another 15 minutes to FINALLY see our waitress. We ordered everything at the same time for fear that we would never see the waitress again. After another 10 minutes or so my friend's ginger ale came out but not my margarita. That would take another 10 minutes. in the meantime the kitchen staff brought our chicken wings app out and no one knew if they were ours. They finally gave them to us. We had no silverware or plates. The girl from the kitchen noticed that we didn't have silverware, napkins or plates and brought out ONE clean plate [there were two of us] and silverware. She said that there weren't any more clean plates. I was still waiting for my drink. My drink came 10 minutes later. Then our dinners came out. We never saw our waitress after she brought my drink until she was clearing the table and bringing the check. She just about threw the check at me. She put it on the table and quickly said "have a good night" and took off. I have to say that the manager was very unprofessional in her handling of this situation. I have NEVER given less than 20 percent to ANY waitress. This waitress got no tip. Better yet, here's a tip... find a new line of work and get a better attitude. read more

My wife and I went in for lunch yesterday. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The staff and other patrons at the bar were very friendly, very important for a neighborhood pub. We had a Four Winds Burger and a BLT. Both were amazing as we're the fries and onion rings. The BLT, had house made bacon, and was definitely a full meal in itself. The halipenio aoli on the burger was addictive, we got some on the side for the fries. The burger was cooked perfect medium rare. The barbeque rib appetizer was a little dry but the flavor was very good. Other than that my only critique would be a timing issue. The onion strings, on top if the burger, we're cold. The toast on the BLT was cold as well. This place has definitely stepped up their menu from the last time we were there, probably a year ago. Just had lunch Saturday afternoon. Great spot on a little pond in Lynn. Food and views were great. We had buffalo wings for an app and they are Smoked not fried, for a great flavor. We both has sandwiches Pulled pork and short rib grilled cheese. Both were excellent!! no doubt its a local dive bar BUT with great food and a awesome location. I was sorely disappointed to see the street-side entryway to this establishment looking like the door to a 1920s back-alley speakeasy. My disappointment ended at the door, however. This place is a diamond in the rough. I'd give it four or five stars, but the surrounding "rough" just takes too much shine away from the diamond. Even with the beautiful view of Sluice Pond. I can see why they have a dock outside the restaurant. If I owned that place, I'd want people to get their first impression from the waterfront, too. I ordered the ribs which were amazing. The service was courteous and quick. The price was also somewhat reasonable. However, I don't think I'll go back just due to the disappointing location. read more

This is a weird place, but liked it a lot. It is primarily a bar, with a patio that is on a hidden pond in Lynn. If the weather is nice, the patio is great. The menu was small but good. I had pizza and it was very good. The limited menu may be a turnoff for a lot of people. The bar is fairly comfortable, but the patio has bench seating, which I can see as being uncomfortable for some people. Patrick recently fired a waitress that was there for many years. She has been in cancer remission. The clientele are regulars. She was chewing gum, and he threw a cloth napkin in her face and told her to spit out the gum, in front of a full restaurant. I regret that the first review I wrote, was not as detailed as it should have been. He called the waitress the "C" word..because of an error made with an order she took. The food here is mediocre at best. And the bar/waitstaff are out of this world RUDE. Go across the street to the Lazy Dog. Sometimes they can be a bit slow getting to you at the bar, but at least they don't make you feel like you're inconveniencing them just by being there. It doesn't seem to matter who is working either. Everyone there is just surly and downright mean. A shame, too, since the lakeside seating is nice. I've lived within 3 miles of this place for 20 years, but only discovered it this fall. You could easily drive by thinking it was an old fashioned dive bar and greasy fries kinda place. How wrong would you be, it's a real find! As Fall has been so warm, and we're all concerned about social distancing, we immediately loved the open lakeside terrace area. The food is top notch, and by now we've worked our way through the menu items we like best. Perhaps the absolute star is the beef ribs: the best I've ever had. The tempura prawns, deep fried avocado (much better than it sounds), and steak tacos all great. Crab cakes and fish tacos great. We had a vegetarian friend with us who ordered the vegetarian burger and said it was outstanding. Haven't tried anything from the entree section, as we're always there for lunch. Also very friendly staff who clearly take COVID precautions seriously. Will go back often. read more

We had a large party, she freaked out about us taking two tables and then we waited about 15 minutes for her to take our drink order (mind you it wasn't that busy at the time) and then it took her forever to take other orders and once she took a drink order and completely ignored one of the people that was ordering. The restaurant itself had a cool patio and the food looked good but we didn't even stay long enough to order because this lady completely ignored us. We waited 30 minutes for an appetizer and 45 for food. Also went to the bar to play keno and the bartender was rude and said "keno will have to wait I need to make drinks" - new people would sit down and instead of coming over she would serve them first even though we had been waiting. Finally came over after playing it for another customer at the bar. If you can't handle both, get off the bar. No way to treat customers.
