Hey Murray you're OK in my book. When a waitress friend shares a great place to dine you listen and FRANK did just that for a solid rock star dining experience. Came in around 8:30 and grabbed a nice outdoor seat. Super nice young lady started our journey with taking or beverage then appetizer order. Ordering the chicken parm egg roll I was amazed by the robust flavor inside but the outer wrapping was superb. Now this is a quality egg roll and HUGE and you were issued two of these monster rolls cut in half for a total of four man sized shareable delights.. Check the photos they don't lie they were amazing. Ok now onto main fixings so I ordered the steak tips accompanied by salad and French fries.. Note these are the hottest fries I've ever had and maintained a lava like heat through my meal. Not sure if it was just high quality fries or a design flaw but they were crunchy and flavorful but the heat kept me from eating them all... So I moved onto my steak tips. In Boston when dining forget steak and move to Steak Tips cause they rule. Soft and chewy mini mounds of flesh is a New England speciality and I partake immediately into masticating these flavor bombs till the last bite. Murray's tips were a tad different than I was accustomed to cause these were marinated in a bbq sauce. Now it caught me off guard yet by the end I was a gigantic fan of this new tip sensation to my tastes buds were pleased along with my belly.. As you can see Frank was a happy camper. But one more item for a review and that was my guests meal which was a filet mignon smothered in chimichurri sauce blowing up that steak with even more layers of savor to enjoy. And hats off to chef for cooking it to a perfect medium with an outer crust but nice juicy pink inside... Ok well that's it for Franks experience at Murray's Tavern. This place is great! Seems like most patrons feel the same way. Food is delicious and everything is a great choice. They have rotating specials all the time, but their regular menu is so good that I just can't move away. Their smash burger is fantastic, but their salads are nice and hefty, so even if you're trying to eat light, you leave full and satisfied. Caesar salads are simple and standard everywhere, but I'm always happy with the one I get from Murray's - well dressed with a yummy cheese crisp on top. Their wings are delicious, always come out piping hot, and have a creative array of sauces. The variety of fries are impressive too and all of them are delicious (though, when are fries really not delicious?!) My favorite thing about Murray's is the front outdoor seating area. When the weather is a bit cooler, they'll turn on the gas heaters, so you can have a comfortable meal and still enjoy some fresh air. But what makes it truly my favorite is that it's dog friendly! It's always so tough to find spots that allow dogs, but Murray's staff is always so kind to us when we bring our dog with us for dinner, and they'll even bring out a bowl of water for him. Good service comes from the top, and we've met John, who is incredibly nice and friendly. Conversations with him are consistently pleasant and we love that he's always open to sharing what he knows about food and drink! The staff also provides kind, speedy service, which we definitely appreciate. The only negative about Murray's is the fact that we only found them a year ago and hate that we didn't find out about them sooner! read more

I'm visit this area from time to time for work and a colleague recommended this place. I was blown away by the absolute amazing customer service and care. The kindness of every single staff member was truly something. Murray's Tavern feels like home. Like a place everyone belongs and it's so familiar. It's truly like "Cheers!", a neighborhood bar "where everybody knows your name". The outdoor seating area is lovely and perfect for late summer get togethers or early brunch. And the food is DIVINE! I came in while passing thru the area. I saw it had high ratings and decided to give it a try. I am glad I did! I had the mussels to start then Shrimp scampi. They were both excellent! Yes! If you haven't been, you should check it out. The staff were welcoming and our waitress was kind and very helpful with our choices. We met John Murray, one of the owners. He was friendly and continued to check on the patrons. My husband found a YouTube video about this restaurant and that helped make our decision as to where to have dinner. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and warm. We started off with the chicken parm egg roll. We saw this in the video and we were intrigued. My hubby is not a huge pesto fan but really liked it on the chicken parm egg roll. The egg roll wrapper was fried to perfection and the chicken was moist and flavorful. For dinner we had split the pretzel crusted chicken schnitzel. That was tasty and I never thought of making schnitzel with chicken. I will have to try to make it at home. AND!!! For dessert...you must try the Screwball waffles. Dear lord! Get in my belly!!!! Murray's Tavern is ready for St. Patrick's. Helpful advice, please order proper pint glasses for the poured Guinness. Fantastic corner bar, the staff was amazingly welcoming and quick at the bar. Had a beer and a up of chowder and a burger - added the bacon & egg. Delicious. We were super excited to try this place because it looked so cute and tastey. Our server didn't speak/understand english. While we don't fault her on it, it made ordering extremely difficult. As a result, she made a lot of mistakes. (Forgot to put our app order in, brought me the wrong wine, forgot to ring in my side of fries/brought the wrong fries). I feel bad even making this review, but we work hard for our money and when we go out and spend $150 and everything is wrong and the experience is bad, it's pretty upsetting. read more

We've been to Murray's several times, but tonight was by far the worst experience we've ever had. When we arrived, the waitress was kind and offered us a bigger table, which we appreciated. My daughter's food came out quickly and was delicious. However, it took another 20 minutes just to get our drinks. Dinner took about 45 minutes to arrive, and by then I was extremely frustrated. The restaurant was also uncomfortably hot. When my food finally came, it was cold, and to make matters worse, there was a hair in my taco. I was absolutely mortified. I was so upset that I left the restaurant, and even then, it took another 20 minutes just to get our check. I do not recommend this place and will never be returning. Save your money. read more

While staying in Boston for Head of the Charles race, we came upon a great neighborhood treasure near our hotel in Revere. First night I took the recommendations of my amazing server Christina and ordered the double smash burger with Salt and Vinny fries. The sandwich was amazing..the bread was fresh and the patties were perfectly done. The mayo and condiments made the burger sing. Second day I only ordered the Screwball waffle which was a perfect combination of waffle and Gelato with a rich whisky syrup drizzle. Washed it down with a double espresso and called it a night. Who knew. The old Speakeasy. Fun memories from the 90's. So when my best friend wanted to check this place out for her 60th birthday- I said ok! Best decision I have made in a long time! Murray's Tavern is located at 118 Broadway in Revere, MA, just a short distance from Revere City Hall, the famous Luberto's Pastry, and towards the Chelsea borderline. There is plenty of street parking on both sides of the street when we went on a Friday evening and also plenty of outdoor seatings available. I recommend sitting toward the left side of the restaurant away from Broadway which is a little more private. My husband and I were meeting with a coworker after work for appetizers and drinks. We ordered the mussels appetizer, Vietnamese flavored wings, the Spanish octopus, and the grilled chicken avocado flatbread to share amongst the group. I was impressed by the flavor of the Vietnamese flavored chicken wing as I am Vietnamese myself. The peanut crust was more a dusting of crushed peanuts though. The mussels was probably my favorite appetizer. There was an abundance of mussels and bread to dip into the sauce. My husband enjoyed the Spanish octopus, I prefer a grilled version. The flatbread was tasty and there was plenty of leftovers too. From the cocktails menu, our waitress recommended I try the Passionista, which was sour and sweet, probably more on the sweet side. There was plenty of beer selections IPA for spouse and coworker. Overall, excellent service and food. I have yet to dine inside or try their entrees but will surely be back. My wife and I were a little concerned when the estimated 20 minute wait became closer to 40. We were thinking of leaving just as a table cleared and found out why nobody was leaving: the food was delicious!!! It all tasted so fresh. This place is very cozy, but not quite packed. I noticed the owner straightening out some place mats then came over to check on us. John was very nice and spoke with us for a few minutes and was very friendly and personable. When we were getting ready to leave--and very full--our waitress came over with dessert from John. What a nice touch!!! Wow! What a find! We flew out of Tampa to attend my uncle's funeral in Woonsocket. We stayed near Revere. This restaurant had the best clam chowder my Florida lips have ever tasted and we won the lottery by ordering a chicken flatbread as well! To top it off, Jon Murray, the owner, took time to stop, talk and share the history of the place. This will be a recommended spot for any friends traveling, a "get off your butt and get there" review for any locals and a future visit for me on a later date. read more

Ok had a special, top sirloin with broccolini, feta, almonds and juniper berries plus the pork chop with sweet potatoes and bacon fried Brussels. Plus clam chowder. I asked for the juniper berries to be removed and they jumped all over it. I also asked for the steak to be cooked rare so I might get it medium rare. It came out perfectly rare. Which is fine. Just know that the chef will cook it exactly as you ask for. What a bonus. The pork chop was crazy good. Maple glaze and grilled perfection. Sweet potatoes were excellent and the Brussels were CRAZY GOOD. The owner came by 4 times, every server was polite as could be. They had live music on a Monday night. It's a neighborhood place. It's not a cheap place but it is as good as a chop house. read more

We were recommended to come here by our hotel which was in walking distance. When we walked up the place had a local "come on in" vibe already just looking at it! It wasn't a large place on the inside which lended to the great vibe. Food was excellent (prosciutto flatbread, mussels, cheese flatbread, and shrimp scampi) and our server was amazing..super personable and we had a great conversation about our travels with her. Murray's was our first stop in the Boston area and we just so happened to be in town for St. Patrick's day! They really went all out with the decor and there was even a bagpiper and face painting! Their menu is very unique- they have the traditional bar food like chowders, fish and chips, etc. but they also have fusion food like charred octopus. We ordered a couple dishes across the spectrum and everything was delicious, and came out from the kitchen very quickly. Would definitely recommend checking them out! read more

We started with the octopus dish. One 6-7 inch piece of octopus with potatoes and salsa. Octopus was overdone and tomatoes were underdone. Then we ended up only getting soup because first dish wasn't cooked properly and it took so long for the waitress to come back to our table. The waitress also wasn't very knowledgeable of the menu. This place was so good that it literally made me google how to nominate someone for a James Beard award AND put a reminder in my calendar. We just walked in because it looked like a fun neighborhood bar. Lo and behold, we had one of the best meals in Boston. Super tender and flavorful meatballs, beautifully plated and super fresh seared scallops with glazed pork belly and a watermelon relish, fish and chips that tasted like they pulled it out of the ocean 5 min before it hit the plate. And the fries!!!! The salt and vinny fries were perfect soft and steaming on the inside, impossibly crispy on the outside.
