I saw the espresso martini advertised online, so when my friends and I finally went up to the Peabody area, I knew I had to try one. Two of my friends and I had the espresso martini, and it was incredibly delicious! Also, our waitresses were super nice and the food we ate was delicious. I had a wrap with french fries and enjoyed it. One of my friends had a salad and he said it was really good. My other two friends had a steak sandwich and really enjoyed those as well. Originally from California for vacation had a horrible experience from every where. But!!! Paddy Kelly the best place that turned my trip around. Mainly due to Marissa! Food is amazing and huge portions! Marissa is a gem and phenomenal customer service!! She made me feel so welcome and me and my friend stayed about 5 hours and had the time of our life before our flight. Paddy Kellys, what a great surprise. This long-standing sports tavern in Peabody, Ma. seems to be doing everything the right way. As I entered, the dimly lit room caused me to pause as I adjusted my sight from the bright days sun. The first thing I noted was how clean the tavern is, and you immediately get the sense that they are definitely paying attention to details. The wait staff was prompt, courteous, friendly and knew the menu very well. The beer was ice cold and at our table four different menu items were ordered. The group enjoyed their meals as the lunch was perfectly prepared and the portions will not leave you hungry. It is worth mentioning that the rest rooms were spotless. Partial because I live close, but good food, reasonably priced and good service. Isn't usually super busy, makes it a good place to grab a few beers and sit down to watch a good game. Bartenders was very rude. Service sucked. We had a shot and a beer and asked after 30 mins of finishing the beer, we asked for another beer and was told we can't have anymore because we took our shots "too fast". I didn't know we had to sip a shot?!? Also a friend of mine was cut off from Non-alcoholic beer. When asked why, they refused to answer. Atmosphere - dark Waitstaffs -wonderful and very attentive Appetizers- it's mediocre. Mozzarella wedges were okay and their steak'n cheese egg rolls were good. Entrees-I honestly and I mean honestly hate to say this not good. Asked for medium rare steak it came out too well done. I told them I didn't want to complain but asked for medium rare and so I returned my dinner and asked if they can bring me a med rare and they still brought out too well done. Steak tips are not even tender. Side dishes do not compliment well w/entrees such as steak, grilled chicken, surf'n turf and what have you. Fries were over cooked. Maybe they are known for their sandwiches and pizzas. I don't know. Menu -very limited (check their menu before you go) TVs -ample If you want a place to go just for tv, drinks & social, then this is the place for you! Plenty of seats to welcome you! Got out after a crazy shift at work. I had gotten out late, hungry, and not wanting fast food. I drive by here all the time, and never had been in before last night. So, I know their kitchen closes at midnight :D and I needed a drink. Arriving at the tail end of trivia night, settled in at the bar, I got a beer while perusing the menu. The menu is moderate, but seems to be otherwise great selection. I opted for a grilled chicken wrap with a Ceaser salad. Food was great portions, and food was delicious at such a late time. What was very nice were some of the drink specials. It was nice getting Ardbeg neat with the meal, at a reasonable price. The music was good and not incredibly loud. The bartenders were fairly attentive, the bar was dirty but that's not something that I care about, the rest of the place is dark-lit but comfortable, and otherwise clean. read more

I absolutely love Paddy Kellys. I will warn you though---- It's divey, dark, and is basically a basement. HOWEVER.... I've had the privilege of having it around for as long as I can even remember. The drinks are always good and are never skimpy. The food is good. Nachos are AWESOME. I love all the veggies they add. It's such a fun place. They have games and things that happen each night of the week. Every night has either some kind of tournament or featured food. Open late. Friendly staff. It's clean. DJ that comes at night is great! Just last month my friends and I started our night at Stonewood Tavern about a mile away (my friend wanted to go there ...ugh..) and it was SO unwelcoming. They literally gave us an attitude for not wanting food and just drinks. Drinks were so small and all ice. Expensive. Service is always horrible there. That was enough for us to leave and head to Paddy Kellys. We should have just gone there all along. The waitress heard our story and laughed. She has heard it before!! Anyways... she was so funny and made sure we were having a good time and our glasses full all night. She was the best. Very good customer service. Clean. Good drinks and food. Always a good time. Hello this is in reference to Patty Kelly's not a very good place they kicked me out because I called too many times on the phone and it's a very clicky place if you're not in the click you don't count they just don't care The food is okay it's not great if you order a hamburger either it comes too rare or too well done it never comes to your right The pizza is just okay and the nachos are just okay usually soggy by the time you get them they banned me from there The owner himself his name is Adam and the bartender you should watch out for Jewel and Marissa and Nikki they're not very nice people you'll find out you're better off going to anywhere in Beverly on rantoul Street or even campus Street All those restaurants are decent this guy Adam hasn't been data out for me I tried to apologize to him he wants nothing to do with me he banned me from his restaurant and I've done nothing wrong read more

Really disliked the food and experience at Paddy Kelly's. Right off the bat, knew making the drive from Lynn was a waste. They IDed us to get in to the bar and made you allow a camera to take two pictures of your face. I asked why and said it was overkill and the 'security' said 'Just in case something happens, it's all right there... Just in case a fight breaks out.' Really weird and invasive. On to the service. There were 2 bartenders. The one who got my drinks seemed nice. When I went back to the bar a few minutes later to order food, I got stuck with the other bar tender who seemed like she had been drinking and careless. I asked to make a small modification to my appetizer order and she said no. Without explanation. Being the only people in there ordering food, I expected it to come right out, but more than 25 mins later still nothing. And all we ordered was an appetizer. Finally some one from the kitchen had to come tell this bar tender that our food was up. She then just kind of threw the plate down on the table, only brought half the sauces that it was supposed to come with, and ended up charging us for the sauces we requested that came with it. I think I just might be a yuppie from Connecticut. Paddy's started out as a divey Irish pub full of locals grabbing a late dinner before the kitchen closed. But come 10 o'clock on a Friday night, the classic rock is replaced by the DJ's booming hip hop, strobe lights come on, and a whole sect of 20 somethings start piling in. "Is this music for the right demographic?" I asked. Apparently, I don't get out much since after a scan of the crowd of orange tanned girls in skintight jeans who straighten their already straight hair and pale young men in over-sized graphic sweatshirts, hoods over their buzzed heads, and enormous fake diamond studs in their ears, I got the answer - "Uh, yeah...it is." Oooohhhhh. The ladies room is the size of a closet with a single stall, yet the girls like to go in packs of seven with half of them in the stall and the other half waiting outside. Be thankful if you can even make your way to the sink. The guys dance but lose their balance when they get into those brother hugs and fall into our table. The little drunk guy of the group got a little too excited - he came over, told us he loved us, and slapped us with a $20 to buy a round on him. We returned his money, while his friends dragged him out. Fun. So, why was I there? My friends are locals to Peabody and they promised us $1 Coors light drafts. Not too shabby, until you taste it and remember how bad Coors Light tastes. (If I were smart, I would have followed my husband's lead and milked a couple of black and tans.) But the place is a bargain since we had a full night of drinking, and between the four of us our bill was $27 (including the black and tans.) I was told they also have wings for ten cents apiece - I can't attest if they're any good, but you can grab a not-so-healthy dinner of wings and beer on a very small budget. I've been here countless times and I've never written a review. Every night at Paddy's is sure to be a good time. Jess is usually my bartender and not only are we on a first name basis she is easily one of the best bartenders in the area. The food is awesome, if Oscar is working in the kitchen I make sure to get the Irish Nachos... always hits the spot. All in all, this is my go-to bar. When I first decided I was going to review Paddy Smellys I was going to give it 3 stars. I tried to think of what was bad about my experiences there (and there have been many) and could come up with a few things. The music is usually lousy and you can't avoid some of the Peabody yah-dudes. That isn't a good basis for a review though. I decided that how great the great stuff is out weighs how bad the bad things are. What Paddy Kelly's is is a bar in my hometown that has dollar drafts, and Caribbean Queen on karaoke. The bathroom is cramped but I'm not there to hang out in the bathroom. There are cheap drinks, Billy Ocean, and its in Peabody. This glass is half full. 10 stars. read more

Paddy Kelly's is a great neighborhood bar and restaurant located in downtown Peabody serving great food, a wide variety of drinks and entertainment every night of the week. You can go for a nice dinner and some drinks in the earlier part of the evening or put on your dancing shoes and drink it up later on in the night. It definitely gets packed after 11:00pm with the DJ spinning great music until about 1:30am! The bartenders and owners are VERY nice and always accommodating to everyone! They have a large selection of beers on tap and there's always a daily drink special (like the gigantic fish bowls!) You must try their amazing steak tips, cheesesteak sub with grilled peppers and onions, delicious made-from-scratch house dressing on a variety of fresh salads, and build your own quesadillas! PK's is on the top of my short list of go-to bars. The owner, Dave, is an awesome guy who really cares about running a good business and understands the demographic. It's not stuffy or pretentious, it's not fancy. But it is fun, the food blows "pub food" out of the water, the bartenders know how to make a drink (thanks, Hilary!), and I always have a great time there. Even if it's not your scene, you can always sit at the bar and play Penthouse Photo Hunt. Have the steak tip dinner -- just do it. Seriously. Then message me your extreme gratitude on here. I'll wait! Drink specials rotate to all different things (not just dark weird liquor I'll never drink), and they have pretty much everything behind the bar. I went on Saturday night to catch up with a friend who lives a couple miles from the bar. I also went in with extremely low expectations. I'm not really a fan of Irish-pubs since they are all the same formula: a pseudo-Irish name with a random Gaelic slogan, lots of Mexican food, and really loud cheesy dance music (the youngsters call EDM these days). Paddy Kelly's certainly followed the above formula, but for a couple draft beers (I think it's spelled draught in Irish bars) and a grilled chicken quesadilla, it wasn't bad at all. We stayed until about 10:30, when the Calvin Harris Pandora station came on. Oh sorry that was actually a real human DJ. The food was actually quite good and extremely well priced. The service was good and finding street parking wasn't a problem. I can't say I'd drive out of my way for it, but if you're in the area or if you're looking to meet up with a friend, it's not a bad spot.
