I get it, the shop was closed even though multiple sources online said it was still open. I get it, we filled out the rental form and received a text message from Peak that, like the sign on their door said to wait in our car and they would be out shortly, and somehow we should have known that even though there was a person inside and the lights were on, nobody was ever going to come help us. The process is broken, that's fine. But what did we get when we finally got the storekeeper's attention? Not an apology or acknowledgement of the misunderstanding caused by these inconsistent sources of information, but a sneering little man mocking and waving condescendingly at me and my kid in the parking lot. I'm actually glad they were closed; we dodged that bullet of renting from a company who employs such a jerk. I'd rather pay twice as much elsewhere than support this kind of business.

Two terrible experiences with the marine service and parts department yesterday…read more 1) On Tuesday I called about getting a PWC battery. I was told to call ahead of time so they can add acid and charge up the battery, no problem. I was told the battery was $172 (before taxes, etc). I called the next day to order the battery and when I picked it up I was charged $203 (before taxes, etc.) I told the salesperson that I was told the battery was $172, he didn't care, he charged me $203. 2) They add 3% if you use a credit card, but not if you use a debit card or pay by check. No problem, I get it, but I told them you should let people know ahead of time (I would have brought a debit card), the salesperson said "sometimes" we tell the customer (huh?), the salesperson could care less. The salespeople's attitude was that they didn't care at all that they screwed this customer. I'm afraid they have lost a longtime and repeating (PWC and ski package) customer. Maybe business is so good they don't care about customers.

They don't just want to sell you, but they want to make sure you are set up for success, you are safe, and you have an all around great experience on the water and with Buckeye. This particular location is in the Waterworks shopping center. Compared to the competitor Dick's Sporting Goods, Dunham's Sports has an interior design that does not look as nice. However, I actually preferred this Dunham's Sports over the Dick's Sporting Goods nearby. I shopped throughout this Dunham's but mostly in the women's section. I felt impressed by the selection of women's clothing, and I found many shirts that I liked--for example, a green sweatshirt that was half-off for $15, a short-sleeve t-shirt for $15, a hoodie for $20, and a flannel shirt on clearance for $11. All other departments were also full of quality merchandise. I was familiar with some of their brands (e.g., Under Armour, Levi's, NordicTrack, Wilson, adidas, Nike, Bauer, and Skechers). Areas of improvement for this store: When I was looking at the women's sneakers, an employee walked right by me and did not say hello or offer any assistance. Some prices were low, and other prices were moderately high compared to other retailers.
