He found a boot that balances performance, comfort and was within my budget and fit my current bindings so I didn't have to more money than I wanted. Went into the store today with my husband, who was looking to buy a new ski jacket in the more high-end brands of which they had very few in his size, XL. When we walked in, several clerks were standing around chatting among themselves and no one greeted us or simply acknowledged us. We were there for about 45 minutes. During that time, no one, not one single clerk came over to ask if they could be of any assistance. We were on our own! If it is their policy to not pester customers while they're shopping, then they more than succeeded. Will not go back. Going to REI in Pittsburgh where we know they have attentive sales people, and a substantial selection of coats. read more

I'm very new to skiing and have never owned my own pair of boots. This year, I finally decided to purchase a pair of my own, but had no clue what I was doing or what I was looking for. I didn't know how they should fit, what they should look like, what type I should get--nothing. The manager, I think his name was James, was so helpful in fitting me with the right boot. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and even gave me some first-timer tips. It seems like Willi's employees really value what they do and are not just trying to sell a product and get you out the door. read more

I purchased a few pair of skis, boots and bindings from the Wexford location as i needed to update all my equipment. After checking out the South HIlls Inventory, I found the correct sizes of all items at Wexford. however, BILL AT SOUTH HILLS location IS FANTASTIC, extremely knowledgeable and customer service oriented. Luke at the Wexford location spent literally hours with me. he too is very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. Emily was also fantastic! she was our tiebreaker because i could not decide on which two ski/binding/boots combo. I needed to get a pair of bindings. Being an industry professional, I get cheaper prices at our resort shop. But they couldn't even say that they would be done next day. I needed them now ish and that meant a trip to willis at springs. Talked to Taylor, who I've know for years, always treats me very well and keeps me coming back. He had me in and out in about an hour. You can't go wrong talking to Taylor, Johnny T, or Ben West when shopping for anything to do with skis. Need a jacket? Rachels got you covered there also. Super knowledgeable boot fitter at this location. Everyone is helpful and has experience on the slopes. Many of the staff members are younger. They give good advice but they don't always have the older body perspective- they speak from their own mainly. They are knowledgeable and will give you advice. No matter where you shop, do some homework- educate yourself. It shows you care, it will help you participate in the conversations and to select the best equipment for you. read more

My 15 year old son asked for a snowboard for his birthday. I am a widow and my late husband was the athletic one and I knew nothing about snowboarding or skiing. I was a bit apprehensive about helping my son get the proper equipment. (My son kept texting me various pieces to order online!) I went to Willis ski and snowboard with my son on his birthday and I was extremely satisfied by the service we received! It was way over and above my expectation! Adam attentively and patiently spent quality time with us explaining about the equipment and also patiently making sure that everything fit him properly. Just left Willis and can't say enough about the staff. It was 8pm and my husband wanted to stop in and look for skis for me. I am 54 and haven't skied in years. Matt was absolutely wonderful with me. He was very knowledgeable without being pushy. He never made me feel embarrassed over my lack of skills or knowledge. It ended up being cheaper than any online store and he hustled to get the bindings on so I could have them that night for the next day trip to ski! All this at 8pm when the store was closing at 9!!! read more

I went to the castle Shannon store and spent $800 on a new snowboard, hardware, and gear. The next weekend I went up 7 springs and spent $200 on gloves and pants, after leaving the store I went to use the pants and they didn't fit well and I couldn't even zip them up. The weekend after that I went to the Monroeville store with a receipt of purchase to exchange the pants for another pair that fit better and I was denied. I called the manager in castle Shannon as directed by the Monroeville manager and over the phone I was told that they would not exchange all because I tried them on without use and that's considered use. $1000 spent in two weeks at their stores and they couldn't do a simple exchange on a pair of pants. Me nor anybody I know will ever step foot in one of their stores again. Everything is cheaper online but you would think that somebody local would give you better customer service. sooooo disappointed!!! read more
