Add on a thirsty pooch, and you could consider it the makings of 'the perfect storm'. This particular 7-Eleven has saved me on more than one such occasion. Don't misunderstand, I hate leaving Charlie Chan tied to the pay phone around the side (do any non-drug dealers use pay phones anymore anyway?), but if I'm desperate enough to use a gas station toilet, it's going to be as fast as humanly possible. But much to my pleasant surprise, I 1. didn't have to fill my lungs while rushing in and hold my breath while using said bathroom and 2. didn't see traces of previous bathroom users everywhere! A++! The staff was even nice enough to give me a cup of tap water for poor Charlie who was mad about being alone and thirsty. Thanks to this great spot, the subsequent miles were much more enjoyable - for both of us. I should add that as I made my B-line for the RR, I found the rest of the store quite clean and packed with all kinds of goodies including, but not limited to, flavor buttons on the drink machine (ie, cherry, vanilla, etc), baked goods, and the typical American junk foods en mass.
