Stopped by San Diego Taco Shop with my team. They have a very large menu with plenty of options to choose from, and the service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the Super Nachos and a horchata. The portion size was generous and definitely filling--I left full. For me, the food was just okay, but several members of my team really enjoyed their meals and had positive things to say about their choices. After leaving San Diego over 15 years ago to around the world and settle in Florida I have always missed a California burrito. Many many have tried but do not love up to the hype. I found one in Orlando and it made weep it was so good. Well I found another outside of San Diego. The Cali burrito and the carne asada fries were top notch. Hats off to this little shop. read more

As a San Diego native, an Irving resident I wanted to love this place so much. Everytime I've tried, sometimes years between visits, it hasn't been good. We go here regularly. We love their burritos. Always good and you make two meals out of one if you are not super hungry. Their taco plate and salsa and chips are excellent as well. Not super speedy in the drive through,but fast enough considering what they are preparing. Dining room clean and basic. We will continue to frequent them. read more

Came here on a friend's recommendation. There so many little Mexican spots in the area and it's hard to decide on good spots. This place was pretty good it is a small place with maybe 8 small tables. They feature tacos, sopes, gorditas and burritos that are massive. If the flavor was more prominent I would give it a higher rating but don't think that it wasn't a good eat. I wanted more after I was done. It is great for quick Mexican food and the portions are pretty fantastic and definitely gave it another stars worth especially for the value. Drive through and sit down (ish) fast food, authentic taco shop! These tacos are definitely authentic and live up to the name. The tacos orders comes with two tacos each, we ordered the carne asada and those were massive and good. The bean and cheese burrito was my favorite, and also the portion size was huge. The tortilla could've been a bit more authentic, it was a bit doughy. The quesadilla was probably the favorite overall, we asked for cheese but got carne asada and that was a good mistake! this spot has definitely gone down. they give rotten food and will get offended when asked to exchange it. They also Give different pricing for sides and use "that's what we have always charged" when questioned. Go to Gilberto's Tacos in Arlington instead!!! This place is great for quick service tacos or Mexican food. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are always friendly. It's more of a good hole in the wall type of place than a sit down restaurant but it's perfect for carry out or a quick meal. Drove all the way from Little Elm to try this place. I am originally from San Diego so I'm always missing my taco shop rolled tacos. I ordered rolled tacos which were really good. I also ordered a carne asada burrito for later but ended up taking a few bites there. The carne was too salty. I think the cook was probably just heavy handed with the salt that day. It wasn't dry though. But that's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I will revisit to see if that was just an off day, im really hoping that's all it was. read more

This is one of the best taco shops in all of DFW! I am a San Diego native who moved to DFW and I missed the taste of Mexican food back in SoCal. This restaurant has always maintained great portion sizes, flavor, and they keep prices reasonable. This has got to be the worst lunch I have ever had! I order the nachos with jalapeños. The meat was all stuck together and had a shredded sort of consistency. The cheese was in chunks that were only partly melted. The taste was as bad as the plate looked. I was sick to my stomach the rest of the day! I will never ever go back again! read more

I drive past this place every morning. On 4 occasions I stop to get breakfast through the drive through. In all four cases, nobody ever takes my order. Today I pull up the the window and see an employee standing there and won't look over. Then a second. Finally a third person sees me and they come to window. Based on previous reviews, I really thought it was possible the food could be the same but it fell very short of what we anticipated. The produce didn't taste fresh and tortillas tasted stale, and the hot sauce was watered down. Service was decent- so I had to drop two stars. Tried this place for the first time today, The Tong (lengua) tacos were chunky and meat was hard The Pastor tacos were chewy, the meat wasn't cut up very well The bistek tacos were ok the chicharron was very good. Over all it seemed a calm place, not a lot of traffic at lunch time. read more

2 stars bc Chimichanga is decent however..... I lived in San Diego for about 12yrs before deciding to move to the DFW. I was so excited to try this place just to be extremely disappointed. There is no way the owners are from San Diego. This is a horrible representation of Cali-Mex. My go-to is the California burrito, which is a dependable San Diego burrito with carne asada, french fries, cheese, and pico, and is usually way too much food for me, but I keep going because... inertia. My second go-to is the gorditas plate, which comes with 2 gorditas, rice, beans, and pico, and you can't go wrong with the barbacoa as the filling!
