I was shocked at the actual square footage of this store as it looks much smaller from the street. Additionally, I never noticed they have a Starbucks within. Initially I only intended to stop in for a meager bag of tortilla chips, but I soon found myself walking other aisles just to peruse the variety of goods available. There's a full-service bakery with an impressive display case near the entrance (adjacent to the Starbucks), and the steaks at the meat counter were equally attractive. The deli section was doing a good business with several people in line for sandwiches, and I noticed a hot soup station, as well. I hate shopping at Lake Arrowhead village on weekends due to the traffic and, though this Jensens was doing a very brisk business, the ease of parking is so much better. I have been relying on the little market in Cedar Glen (a former Jensens, ironically) for emergency "basics, " but it's nice to know there is a larger, better-stocked, option available a short five miles distant.

I also thought something bigger than pepitas like candied pecans or walnuts could offer a better crunch to the salad. We did not like the veggie burger at all. The patty should be more firm and structurely together but the mushroom mix was so soggy and mushy and fell apart easily. I wonder if adding a binding agent or flour or something or even deep fry it with a bread crust could make the patty more appealing. We would absolutely come back. Maybe not for the mushroom Patty.

Btw ive worked in customer service for 15+ years and even on my WORST days I have never spoken to a customer this way. So all in all I don't know what was more disgusting, the food or the way this man conducted himself and spoke to patrons of the restaurant. Really gives the place a bad name. EDIT: as you can see the owner is very combative to all reviews displaying arrogance, awful customer service, and an inability to take constructive criticism and do better from it. He would rather argue with patrons in any way possible instead of fixing the multiple issues he has within his restaurant. NO review will ever do this catering company's food justice. NO review will ever do this families hospitality justice either! We had the amazing opportunity to work with Fox in the Woods during our October 2019 wedding. Tina brought us into her home back in January for our vendor day, in which she cooked for us right out of her own kitchen, at her very own kitchen table. There was no pressure, no time limit, and certainly no shortage of food. We were able to taste every single dish we were debating having at our wedding night (even got to choose extras to be sure we knew what we wanted). We went home that evening knowing our wedding night food spread would be nothing short of fantastic. Ten months is a long time to wait to eat those delectable dishes all over again, let me tell you NOT DISAPOINTED. The wait was soooo worth it. Once again every single dish was amazing. For appetizers we went with a beautiful cheese spread- it literally took up an entire table guys, do not let the name fool you it was not just cheese. It was cheeses of all types, crackers, fruits, and more. We also chose the Spinach artichoke dip and Bruschetta on her homemade toast- it was heavenly, each piece of toast was seasoned and crisped to perfection, it literally melted in your mouth. Then came dinner, the salad was so fresh and delicious- and the croutons are HOME MADE GUYS- seriously amazing! We went with the four mac and cheese along with loaded mashed potatoes (the extra cost is worth it to add the cheesey and bacon goodness DO IT) for sides. Our main dishes were the tri-tip as well as chicken- not just any chicken though folks, BACON wrapped, stuffed with Apple Cornbread, and a delicious sauce over the top YUM. As if all of this food was not enough, she packed up a special container for myself and hubby AS WELL AS packed up every ounce of left overs, stored it in a fridge for us to take home and continue enjoying. The left overs alone fed our family and friends for ANOTHER THREE DAYS GUYS- I am not just talking dinner either. I do not have enough good things to say about this catering company, this review is so long and I have probably lost most of you, but those who stayed along to read the entire thing, BOOK NOW DO NOT WAIT, you will not be disappointed. We got married on August 1st, 2015 at Pine Rose Cabins. Fox in the Woods was one of the venders that the venue offered in their package. Our menu: Appetizers: Spinach Artichoke dip & Bruschetta Salad: Raspberry Salad Entrée: Chicken Picatta, Smoked Tri Tip Roast, and Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms Sides: Rice Pilaf, Roasted Vegetables, Garlic Roasted Potatoes with Parmesan cheese. I could not have been happier with Tina and her staff. Every person working with her was kind, happy, and so good at what they do! When we say the staff before the wedding, there were an endless number of congratulations, hugs, and handshakes. It was so great to know they were supporting us not only for our dinner, but also in our marriage! A personal waiter waited my husband and me on the whole night. She was great! She even personalized our plates based on our preferences (I don't eat meat) and made us to go boxes so we could have leftovers in our cabin. For our tasting, we did something out of the ordinary. We were a part of a large tasting. This was because Tina had had some medical things going on, and needed to do multiple tastings at once. Usually, she does a tasting in her home. I think the pros of the large tasting were that we had the opportunity to taste things off the menu we would not have originally tasted. The down side was that we were not able to taste exactly what we wanted to serve at our wedding. Despite our different tasting, the food was AMAZING! We chose some of the things that we tasted at our tasting, and some of the things we hadn't tasted. Everything at the tasting was amazing, so we had full confidence that Fox in the Woods would bring the best... and they did just that! Our guests would not stop raving about how wonderful everything was. We even had leftovers waiting for all of our wedding party after the long night of dancing. I highly recommend Fox in the Woods. Tina and her team were our caterers for our wedding at Pine Rose on 6/21/15. She was so incredibly lovely - we had a tasting at her house two days before Christmas, since we were planning from out of town and it was the only time that worked for us. She was so sweet, allowing us in her home with relatives visiting! The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone was really pleased with what they ate! The groom and I had a special server just for our table, so when we arrived the appetizers were already waiting! Our food came in courses, personalized to our allergy needs (no nuts for me, no mushrooms for him). Everyone was amazed that we actually got a chance to eat! The only slightly negative thing we heard was that the servers for the passed appetizers tended to go only in a few areas, instead of making their way through the crowd. That being said, everyone did have plenty to eat! We had lots of leftovers, so we were able to donate them to a homeless shelter through our church, which made us feel better about the general excess surrounding a wedding. I wish she had a store front because we would drive up the mountain just for her Mac-n-Cheese and bruschetta!! I am a Mac-n-cheese fanatic and Tina's is the best I've ever had. Also, don't get me started on that cheese display!!! For our tasting we met at Tina's house and with the help of Nicki, she gave us the most warm welcome where we tried different food options which were all amazing. She offered us great conversation and helped us pick out which food we would go with for the wedding, since it all tasted amazing we needed some help. I can't say enough to express the positive reviews I have for Fox in the Woods. I am an Atlanta based event planner with a California client who prides himself of delivering top notch event experiences for his clients multiple times a year. Ali and her team work hard to take the clients vision and make it a reality. The food is fresh, delicious, meticulously prepared and magnificently displayed and served. Tina and Ali catered our sons wedding of 140 people ano rehearsal dinner at our home in Lake Arrowhead, they did an OUTSTANDING job. Because our house isn't a venue, there were alot of 'firsts", figuring out where things should be placed for good flow. Ali has the sweetest demeanor and spirit ever, she was always smiling, so happy and upbeat. They showed up on time, they were an absolute pleasure to have on the wedding team! Five stars, without hesitation…read more Our family was in Lake Arrowhead for the weekend to celebrate a birthday, and hiring Chef Grey to cook for us at our Airbnb was one of the best decisions we made. From the moment she arrived, everything felt easy and relaxed. She was organized, friendly, and completely took over the kitchen so we could actually enjoy the evening together. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We started with the Wagyu Tataki with pine smoked ponzu, which was incredible. Chef Grey mentioned she had gathered the pine needles herself during a walk the day before, such a thoughtful touch and everyone loved it. The Kurobuta Pork Belly Kakuni came next and quickly became the favorite of the night. It was perfectly tender with just the right touch of sweetness, and the mustard on the side paired beautifully. The Alpine Tempura Platter with jumbo prawns and mountain vegetables was so good, it did not even need the sauce. For the main course, we enjoyed the Cedar Plank Miso Black Cod. The buttery fish paired perfectly with the crispy grilled rice and sweet soy butter glaze, and the sesame broccolini was cooked just right. Dessert sealed the deal. The White Chocolate and Yuzu Namelaka was super smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. Chef Grey also made a triple berry cake and surprised us with yummy brown butter ice cream that she made herself as a birthday treat. Such a thoughtful touch! Everything was generous in portion size, which we honestly were pleasantly surprised by, and we happily enjoyed leftovers the next day. We have hired private chefs before, and without a doubt, Chef Grey's cooking was the most delicious we have experienced so far. Customer Service: While Anna, our contact with the company, was communicative and respectful, we slowly began to feel hesitant to ask for adjustments or additional tastings, as we sometimes got the impression our requests were becoming a burden. It just felt like the vibes were coming off as passive aggressive and we didn't understand why when we were willing to pay for more tastings. It's hard to understand why a food company would have difficulty wanting to serve sample tastings of their dishes especially when they were being paid for. For example, when requesting if we could try out their vegan curry option in addition to their lasagna vegetarian option, we made efforts to make things easier for this vendor by suggesting we could just pick up the food in a take out box without needing a nice sit down experience to save them time (we only did this because Anne emailed us saying we couldn't book another tasting due to there being no time for them to set up another sit down tasting). In response, we got what we wanted but Anne charged us $50 a plate when typically they went for $30 a plate with a sit down experience. So just to get a chance to taste their veggie options we paid them $100 for 2 dishes. We know it takes time to get the ingredients to make these dishes but this shouldn't be an issue for a company that specializes in food. Customers will of course want to try out the different options so make that easier for them. A food company should not make their customers feel like they can't ask to try out food that will be served to hundreds of people! We also felt she didn't handle feedback as openly as we had hoped, occasionally giving the sense that we were the only people they've served who had problems with a dish. Additionally, there were a few instances when my mother, whom we had authorized to communicate with the Anne, felt overlooked. However, on the wedding day, everything we had requested was delivered beautifully, and our guests were thrilled with the food. Overall, Gwen Marlowe Food and Catering delivered a wonderful dining experience on our big day, with delicious food, thoughtful presentation, and a seamless performance. We just hope anyone booking them has a better experience with customer service as we unfortunately felt like a bother to this company. Thank you Gwen Marlowe for making our big day so special though

I trusted her completely. For the day of wedding she arrived on time and braved the cold in the outdoors to cook us a coursed meal. Our picky parents could not stop raving about it, and I still think about the lobster mushroom dish she made. I'm salivating as i write this. Do not hesitate to book her. I met Chef Tea through a volunteering opportunity, and she was gracious enough to make the team some of her delicious Bahn Mi Sandwiches. Talk about love at first bite! If my mouth had a soul mate, I am pretty sure it would be the Bahn Mi. For reference, I was able to try the pork and vegetarian Bahn Mi. The umami flavors hit you immediately and is welcomed with the combination of fresh veggies and held together with a crispy yet soft baguette. It was Heaven by way of every bite! Another small but important point was how each sandwich was thoughtfully wrapped and had a list of ingredients as well. Days later, I was thinking about her sandwich, and I decided to try a Bahn Mi from a popular Vietnamese restaurant in my area. I was let down because it tasted so different from what I experienced in Chef Tea's sandwich. I repeated this with another restaurant weeks later, only to be let down once more. It is safe to say that she has ruined me for all other Bahn Mi's. If you find yourself in need of a personal Chef who will deliver the "wow" factor, please consider Tra An Cuisine.

First of all, Nestor was so nice, honest, humble, and genuine, and that was really important to us. We went with their platinum plated package, and the price was incredibly fair, and the best package by FAR when I compared all catering companies in the area. Nestor was always available and so pleasant in emails, calls, and had the most calm demeanor. We knew we had to hire them! Then comes our wedding party - they arrived on time, and basically handled everything! They didn't let me do a thing and wanted me to relax and have fun the entire time. Their team was SO nice, professional, friendly, and personable! They even accommodated my request to put the plates on my dinner tables for the photographer to photograph, even though it created more work for them by having to pick them up again for the dinner - they happily obliged and I was so grateful! Also, one of their team members tried helping me figure out a way to keep my centerpiece vases from tipping over because of the wind, that was so nice of her to do when she didn't have to! After learning that having oysters , for an additional charge, was available we decided to add that option to our cocktail hour. Unfortunately we didn't get to experience cocktail hour as we were taking pictures but we heard from our guest that they were a great hit!!
