Bahn mi has always been a sandwich that has been on my "must try" list but for whatever reason, it never happened. Chef Tea has thankfully made that a reality. I met Chef Tea through a volunteering opportunity, and she was gracious enough to make the team some of her delicious Bahn Mi Sandwiches. Talk about love at first bite! If my mouth had a soul mate, I am pretty sure it would be the Bahn Mi. For reference, I was able to try the pork and vegetarian Bahn Mi. The umami flavors hit you immediately and is welcomed with the combination of fresh veggies and held together with a crispy yet soft baguette. It was Heaven by way of every bite! Another small but important point was how each sandwich was thoughtfully wrapped and had a list of ingredients as well. Days later, I was thinking about her sandwich, and I decided to try a Bahn Mi from a popular Vietnamese restaurant in my area. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Tea for my camp wedding, and I can't say enough good things about her. From the moment I reached out, she was prompt and super communicative. I had the start of a menu, but Tea really helped me fill in the blanks, turning it into something that was raved about all night long (the shwarma and curry were SO good). I haven't planned many events, but Tea was clear about what she would provide and what I needed to bring, which made me feel way more comfortable going into the event. Thank you so much to Tea for catering an amazing private dinner for my family! We ordered a custom menu for drop off service during a weekend get away in Lake Arrowhead. It was to celebrate my mom's 65th Birthday. Everything was perfect, from the presentation, taste, and delivery service. She wrote us a detailed menu with reheating instructions (easy). Due to covid a lot of the restaurants in Big Bear have limited seating and are not accepting dinner reservations. I'm so grateful I found Tea and employed her services. Last weekend was my girlfriend's birthday. We were renting a cabin in Big Bear, and I wanted to do something extra special and unique. So, I decided to hire a personal chef to prepare a meal for two at the cabin. I found Tea on Yelp and was impressed with her string of laudatory reviews. When I contacted her, she responded promptly and enthusiastically and provided a suggested multi course menu. The plan was for her to show up at the cabin while we were out for drinks and prepare everything before we returned. The surprise worked perfectly. Tea greeted us at the door and handled everything from there. The first course was a series of small bites with an Asian theme: wonton, sushi, sashimi, oysters, all artistically prepared, displayed and served. We had soup, salad, fish, beef, lobster and tiramisu among other dishes. Every dish was unique.
