Having a vacation home on the eastern side of Lake Arrowhead, I've passed by this Jensen's many…read moretimes on my way through Blue Jay but hadn't visited until this weekend. I was shocked at the actual square footage of this store as it looks much smaller from the street. Additionally, I never noticed they have a Starbucks within. Initially I only intended to stop in for a meager bag of tortilla chips, but I soon found myself walking other aisles just to peruse the variety of goods available. There's a full-service bakery with an impressive display case near the entrance (adjacent to the Starbucks), and the steaks at the meat counter were equally attractive. The deli section was doing a good business with several people in line for sandwiches, and I noticed a hot soup station, as well. I hate shopping at Lake Arrowhead village on weekends due to the traffic and, though this Jensens was doing a very brisk business, the ease of parking is so much better. I have been relying on the little market in Cedar Glen (a former Jensens, ironically) for emergency "basics, " but it's nice to know there is a larger, better-stocked, option available a short five miles distant.

Otherwise, I was really impressed by the amount of spicy amd non-spicy bbq sauces - my favorite being the hot honey bbq sauces. I'll have to come back for those when I figure out to make bbq ribs at home. (No grill and no experience here :p) I highly recommend this store to all the spicy-lovers out there. They definitely had hot sauces that were 7M scoville, but I'm too chicken to try that level of spiciness.

This location is a pretty good size and is filled with literally hundreds of different flavours of pop to choose from, as well as candy, random toys, and a variety of other random crap to scratch an itch you don't even know you have. After making my way through the store I managed to pick up both a grass flavoured pop as well as a some fruity type one that I drank right away and enjoyed very, very much. I drank the grass pop the following day when it was cold and it was a super odd taste to say the least. Good? I sure think so. Overall, Rocket Fizz was a fun shop to stroll through and definitely a place I'll return to on future trips to Lake Arrowhead. The best part? This place is always going to be full of new flavours!

Price wise, their offerings are a bit on the higher side - I paid around $10 for a large chocolate malt (shakes are cheaper) - but you will probably encounter a small, quickly-moving line upon entry. And though ice cream can be found at other village businesses, indeed, there are some confections that are unique to this site.
