We stood 30 minutes away from the rental facility and had to wait 15 minutes for the shuttle to take us to the airport. Once on the shuttle, we had another 15 minutes to reach the airport. Now that I know this, I'd prefer to book with a rental company at the airport to avoid the hassle of travel. Our experience with Fox was disappointing due to issues during pickup. We felt that Roya either did not fully understand the process or was attempting to add unnecessary charges to our reservation. We were repeatedly offered services and insurance options that we had already paid for through Expedia. Even after declining additional services multiple times, there was continued pressure, with items being added "just in case" we changed our minds. We ended up leaving with an additional $459 in charges and later had to return to explain that we had already purchased extra coverage through Expedia. I was treated quite terribly by Fox Car Rental in Orlando, FL. During vehicle pickup, the rental agent at the Fox desk told me that I had to accept one of three tolls packages they had available. The agent showed me a map of the Orlando area with roads in blue highlighted to indicate they were cashless toll roads. All of the roads on the map provided by Fox indicated they were toll roads, suggesting that every road in Orlando had a toll associated with its use. During my vehicle use, I did not recall seeing any toll roads or signs suggesting that I was about to use a toll road. During vehicle return, my travelling companions boarded the bus at Fox to take us to the airport for our return to home. I told the guy who checked the return of the vehicle into their system that I had to go into their office to ask a question. As soon as I entered the rental desk area, the bus had pulled forward towards the exit. The people behind the desk said that there was no time for questions as my bus was leaving, and that I would have to arrange for my own taxi from Fox to the airport if I missed that bus. I was wanting to ask about a refund I was due, but was dramatically pressured to get on the departing bus and keep my questions to myself. Last, Fox had a parting gift of a charge on my bill for bus access fee (presumably for the bus ride from Fox to the airport.) It's Orlando, so I guess the hour lines start with the shuttle to the car rental agency. As far as the car, it was okay until the check engine came on as we were going back to return the car to the airport rental site. Make sure that you check your bill. Florida Sunshine Plate pass is $12 a day which is good if you are driving to WPB, Tampa and Cocoa Beach. Tolls are everywhere and they add up. Probably not necessary if you are staying in Orlando. Next time in Orlando, I'll make sure that we rent from an onsite car rental agency. read more

This company is a fraud. They have an electronic signature screen that doesn't show what you're signing up for. It's just a small line that fits your signature and doesn't show what you're signing up for. They asked if I wanted to sign up for plate pass. I said no. They had me sign my name on the block declining coverage but actually fraudulently wrote that I was accepting charges and added my electronic signature to the charges without me knowing adding an 90% increase to the cost. They hid the extra costs inside the deposit, telling me the deposit would be refunded after I brought the car back so I wasn't able to see the additional fees. Very disappointing experience at the Orlando location on S. Semoran Blvd. I was given a vehicle that developed mechanical issues and had to be exchanged. After returning to the office, I waited over an hour for a replacement vehicle. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication and assistance from the staff. Instead of providing updates or trying to resolve the situation promptly, I was left waiting with little information. When a rental company provides a vehicle with mechanical problems, customers shouldn't have to spend hours waiting for a replacement. We had a very frustrating and misleading experience with Fox Rent A Car in Orlando, Florida. We prepaid for our rental online, but when we arrived, we were unexpectedly told we had to pay a $251 deposit. This was not clearly communicated ahead of time. During the paperwork process, the representative asked if we wanted to add car insurance. We clearly said no. She then stated that the only additional charge we were agreeing to was the $14.99 toll pass. My husband even asked what he was signing, and she assured him it was only for the rental and the refundable deposit. We returned the car without any issues and were told we would receive our full $251 deposit back by midnight the next day. That did not happen. When we called customer service, we were then told that because my husband "signed agreeing to insurance," we would not be getting our full deposit back and would instead receive less than $150. At no point did we agree to insurance. We explicitly declined it. This feels extremely deceptive being told one thing verbally and then charged for something completely different based on paperwork that was not properly explained. This experience lacked honesty and transparency from start to finish. We feel misled and taken advantage of. I do not recommend this company. We recently used Fox rentals through Expedia. First of all, beware that they are NOT located at the airport. The shuttle runs during "business hours" which is listed as 5am-12:30. (Another traveler had to call them after our 12am arrival flight even though they expressly say they shuttle and allowed us to book a 12:30am pickup time. We even provided our flight information to them) The shuttle driver made it sound like they were doing us a favor by "staying late" and had a $5 bill sticking out of the dash so we all knew he was accepting tips. We get there and we had booked the rental in my Husbands name, using my mother's card (she and I handled the itinerary for the trip.) Although we purchased the additional insurance through Expedia, Fox required that we also purchase insurance through them at another $15.40 per day. The fees will absolutely floor you, but we will get to that later. They wanted a credit card on file (or a debit card as long as they could put a $1000 hold on it) for incidentals. They wouldn't accept a credit card from my mother, it had to be the in the booked drivers name. We asked to switch the booked driver to my mother, nope they COULD NOT do that. They did offer to REBOOK under my mom's name, but not until the following "morning" at 3x the cost. Eventually my husband just gave them his card, they charged a random amount, but said they'd just do $750- they charged us $775.45 the additional fees the charged us conveniently added up to $275.45, so he was refunded $500.00 on the dot. This was not explained to us, we were told it was just a hold for incidentals. They said nothing about the charges they knew they were charging us coming out at the ends but obviously that's what the plan was. My god THE FEES!! Fees for the privilege of using their license plates In the state of Florida PER DAY, fees for "energy recovery" PER DAY (for them to vacuum the carpet and wipe down the dash),A BUS ACCESS FEE Because they let you use their "free shuttle." A "PRIVILEGE FEE RECOVERY" that they pay the airport and then pass on to the customer for the privilege of operating their business "at the airport." (Reminder we had to be shuttled from the airport and nearly didn't have a chance to check in. If they didn't "stay late" and the other traveler hadn't called, we would have been in a world of trouble! And they're also charging a bus access fee, so seems like a double dip to me. No "at the airport" privileges but all the cost of them!) A daily cost for "PlatePass Inc" although I'm pretty certain we only went on roads that required tolls on two different days. We weren't offered anything other than this. (I highly recommend looking into alternative options on your own, they're not trying to help you AT ALL! There may be a way to buy your own transponder, I saw some at Publix but I have no idea how they work) No one went out with us to look over the vehicle to see if there were any damages prior to us taking it. I took all around pictures and videos so they'd be time stamped incase it became an issue. When we got back, no one looked over the vehicle with us. They had us leave it with the keys on the dash. The shuttle driver was rushing us to get on the shuttle so he could depart for the airport. The whole thing was so strange--- even the non-descript pick up Places had a ton of people there that loaded into unmarked sprinter vans. VANS THAT MY HUSBAND AND MOTHER WERE GOING TO GET INTO BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS FOX! Their shuttles are clearly marked but at the time we didn't know that (and for all I know those sprinter vans were Fox!) I would recommend saving yourself the headache and making sure you can conduct your business at the airport. I fully believe the nominal savings we thought we had using Fox was not worth the headache the "what ifs" (what if another traveler hadn't called to have a shuttle sent to us at 12:10-12:15 when they hadn't planned on sending a shuttle for the 12am arrival?? What if they got into a sprinter van thinking it was Fox's shuttle? What if they tried to charge us for dents/dings already on the vehicle?) and we actually ended up paying more than we thought we had in savings. The vehicle itself was okay, it definitely seemed like it has been used and abused. We babied it- but all functionalities seemed to work just fine. All and all we learned our lesson . With proper trip planning, this was an easy going experience. We got out of the airport to see the shuttle for Fox leaving, but another popped up less than 10 minutes later. The driver was fast back to the rental store. So we paid, and authorized our rental hold. Given the chance to use their insurance and toll package, we declined the insurance or Toll package. They let us know that they do not work with "Private insurance." So we understood that we would be fully on the hook for car repairs in the event of an accident. We carry full insurance from home, plus use our travel credit card. Which also provides rental insurance when you decline "in-house" insurance. So we are legally covered. With a credit card they authorize $150 hold for extra charges on the return. Such as if we gained tolls, or didn't refuel the car. They do not allow debit checking cards to do the hold. The car was great. A 2025 Sentra, that only had a couple things to note on the inspection. We only used 3/4 of the full tank provided doing 5 days of driving. The return experience after refilling the tank for $24 was smooth. You drive up to the shop, leave the keys in the car, and take your stuff. They inspect the car quickly, and confirm your email address for the receipt. Then you're off on their shuttle to the airport about 10 minutes away. Do not plan your return close to your departure time. In case there's any delays. Otherwise, it was quick for us with minimal shuttle waiting compared to other experiences of ours. read more

I had a good experience at Fox Rent a Car and thank you Rola for taking care of me. Honestly, the whole staff were super kind, helpful and accommodating. I had a reservation, it was super inexpensive. It is $12 a day for their Sun Pass for the tolls. And you have to add it in advance, so it's not per use. There were an array of cars on the lot. My first car was a Kia but as I was driving, the tire pressure were all uneven so it felt like it was driving towards the right. I stopped by to drop it off and Rola was kind to upgrade me to a Nissan Rouge. Nissan Rouge drove GREAT. I was a bit hesitant to drive a bigger car but Rola assured me that it was a smaller SUV and a good drive - she was right. I dropped off my car at 640am and the shuttle was already waiting. The driver WAS SO KIND and funny and helpful. Older gentleman. Letting me know where the VIPs go and their limos. I enjoyed and will stop by when I am in town. read more

We reserved our rental through Expedia. We were inter the impression the rental pick up was at the airport or very close by. It took 30 min to get to the rental location. We reserved and paid through Expedia and was not expecting additional fees. They tacked on a &15/day fee for Florida tolls. It was not an option. My son in law also rented a vehicle and drove in Florida. He was able to get a temporary toll pass and only has to pay fees based on usage. What a rip off. Also wanted to charge an additional fee for a second driver and a security deposit. The vehicle was very basic even though we requested midsize. It didn't have navigation capability and the a/c went off at every stoplight. When we returned the vehicle we waited 30" for a shuttle to take us back to the airport. This month I needed to rent a car in Orlando for my son's volleyball tournament. I looked online to find the most affordable car rental company with decent reviews. Unfortunately, either the car rental company was super expensive or it had bad reviews. In the end, I decided on Fox. Initially, I was worried because, although it didn't have the worst reviews, it still had a low rental. However, after my trip, I would say it was an overall good experience. The price for my car rental was great. They didn't try to aggressively upsell me on their Florida toll pass. They simply offered it to me if I wanted it. I ended up just setting my Google maps to select no tolls on all my routes. The only two negatives were 1. They are not on site at the airport. Thus, I recall we needed to take about a 10 minute shuttle ride to their site. 2. I recall there something called a Visitor Toll Pass which offers lower rates for using Florida's toll roads. Unfortunately, you can only get it at the airport at the on site major car rental companies such as Hertz, Enterprise, etc. Unfortunately, Fox did not qualify. They can manipulate your agreement because you sign a kiosk screen with minimal information and need to rely verbally on the sales rep to do the right thing. Need better service and honesty! First, the service is slow. Each counter person has to walk back and forth multiple times between two locations to finish each customer.
