The desk agent Antonio is awesome and has GREAT customer service. the care was great and we enjoyed our vacation. The garage return attendant was terrible. When I pulled up, we were greeted with, "You are late and we are charging you a late fee!" It caught me off guard to be greeted in this manner. I explained to the young girl that I picked up the care at 1pm and paid for a full 8 days and that usually means returning the next day by 1pm was still fully paid. I am bringing it back using only 5 hours on the last day. She immediately shot back and said "you stated 6pm on your return time and it is 7:04pm and I am charging you 2 hours late". When I said, "Serious?' She said, "Yeah I am serious, you heard me". I asked for a manager to speak with and she said I could call or go inside. I was on my way to catch a flight and had no time to go to the rental car desk and find a manager. Hopefully, someone sees this and can help with the customer service on the return side of the business. I know some of these young kids are not used to talking to adults, but if you do not know how to speak to customers, do not put these employees in those positions. read more

Rented a vehicle to drive my son home from college. After turning in the vehicle I realized I had left a few items in the hatch of the vehicle and retirned to MCO on the same day to retrieve them. I was told that the car was being cleaned and the items must be in lost and found but the lost amd found person had gone home for the evening with the key. I returned the next day and after waiting an hour I was told the lost and found oerson was out sick. She remained out for the next five days and I cycled through various managers who promised to get back to me. On Tuesday (7 days later) I was told no items had been turned in and that they would open a claim and check the cameras and get back to me within 24 hours. No return call, no update. I called today and they made the mistake of picking up the phone. I identified who I was and explained why I was calling amd was met with "Oh I can't really hear you, I'll call you back." Then the lady hung up and didn't answer again. So not only are we going to take things that are left in the vehicle, they are going to be super unprofessional. To start, the vehicle we had rented was no longer available. They gave us a good alternative, so that part wasn't too disappointing. The main issue was when we returned the vehicle and the following day received a "special cleaning fee" of $110 with no explanation. It was an unauthorized charge to my credit card. We had returned the vehicle and a Sixt employee inspected it in front of us and never mentioned any issue. The vehicle had some minor debris on the floor which would typically be vacuumed during the rental car turnaround. For some reason they charged us an exorbitant cleaning fee for literally no reason. We had no spills, no stains, no odors in the vehicle at any time. It clearly is a scam to take more money from customers. Please be careful and make sure you document everything! read more

**Extremely disappointing experience with SIXT Orlando -- I feel completely misled** I have rented from SIXT before and used to tell people about the positive experiences I had. Unfortunately, this rental completely changed my opinion, and I will not choose SIXT again unless it is truly my only option. The issues started at pickup. I was upsold into an Escalade that I did not need. I was told the larger vehicle was necessary because it was the only option that would accommodate our luggage and that other available vehicles would not work. That was not true. A standard SUV would have met my needs, and I saw plenty of standard SUVs available when I was walking to the vehicle. The most frustrating part was that I did not realize I was being placed into this particular vehicle until I was already outside with it and the rental contract was complete. To make matters worse, this was a short-wheelbase Escalade, not the larger version. The vehicle description clearly indicates it accommodates approximately three bags, not five as I was led to believe. The employee assisting me should have known this and provided accurate information. A Ford Expedition Max was parked right next to it and would have been a much more practical, comfortable option -- and likely less expensive. Even worse, my reservation details appear to have been changed without my knowledge when the vehicle was changed. My flight was scheduled to leave after 7:00 PM, so I intentionally scheduled my return for 5:00 PM. Somehow, the return time was changed to 12:00 PM without my approval. Why would I schedule a return for noon when my flight was not until 7:00 PM? Because of this error, when I returned the vehicle at 4:00 PM -- an hour earlier than the return time I originally selected -- I was charged for being hours "late." This makes absolutely no sense. The vehicle itself also had issues. Throughout the week I had it, the theft alarm randomly and repeatedly went off every 15-30 minutes with no one near the vehicle. The liftgate also did not function properly unless I used the interior button. Unfortunately, I was not in a location where I could easily exchange the vehicle, so I had to deal with these issues for the entire rental period. I contacted SIXT regarding these concerns, but corporate has been unwilling to take responsibility or provide a reasonable resolution. No refund, no meaningful acknowledgment, and no ownership of the multiple problems caused during this rental. This was not just a poor vehicle experience -- it was a frustrating experience from the pickup process through the (lack of) resolution process. I genuinely feel misled and taken advantage of as a customer. I would also like to point out that I am a Platinum SIXT member and regularly rent vehicles through corporate travel. This experience is significant enough that I will be reporting it through my company's global travel program for consideration. I hope SIXT reviews how they handle upsells, reservation changes, vehicle quality issues, and customer concerns. I had a great experience with Sixt rental cars at Orlando International this past weekend while visiting fam for the weekend. As soon as I approached the car rental area at the airport, I was flabbergasted at the seemingly never ending line at the other rental car companies. Seriously, there must have been 40 families in line. At Sixt, there was literally only 2 people ahead of me. I booked ahead via Expedia, which I almost always do when renting a car, especially at an airport rental. They gave me a 2025 Toyota Rav4 hybrid, which was an absolute rockstar during my trip. It was comfortable, had great gas mileage and handled the road quite well. I will definitely be renting from Sixt in the future, for sure. read more

Despite complying with Austrian toll regulations and providing timestamped documentation showing the vehicle's plate was covered, SIXT Munich Airport charged €200 for a substitute toll weeks later. When I submitted proof, I was told that SIXT does not evaluate whether a fine is legitimate and simply acts on the authority's notice. That means even if you follow the rules, pay the required toll coverage, and provide documentation, the charge can still be passed through without meaningful review. As a foreign traveler relying on a major international rental brand, I expected reasonable dispute handling and assistance -- especially when documentation clearly supported compliance. Instead, the burden was shifted entirely back to the customer. I rented a nice BMW Series M4 convertible for 6 days last month from the Orlando MCO airport. When I went to get it from the rental parking garage I noticed that it had a LOT of scrapes, dings and scratches to the body and wheels. Due to reading the review warnings on here I spent some time taking pics of each and every one of them before I drove off. 20 days after I returned the vehicle, I received an email saying that there is a new 10cm scratch on one of the bumpers that happened during my rental period. I guess Sixt hopes that people have deleted any prior damage photos by now but I did not. I responded to their email and filled out a damage report, including a pic of the 10cm scratch that was there at pickup. Date and time stamp is on the photo, which corresponds to my pickup time. I have a feeling that this will be a back and forth headache but I am ready to fight it for as long as it takes. Bottom line, CLOSELY examine your rental before you leave the lot and document ANY damage via photos or a video of the entire vehicle and do not delete them after your rental period is over. I will probably not be choosing Sixt whenever I return to Orlando. Sad, since my previous rental experiences with them in other airports and other countries were excellent. Edit: After I filled out the damage report and submitted the prior damage photo I received an email from Sixt 3 days later, saying that they reviewed my claim and have determined that the scratch did not happen during my rental and that they are closing the case. This is hands-down the worst rental experience I've ever had. I rented a Mercedes from Sixt at Orlando International Airport, treated it with absolute care. A weeks later, I get hit with a $652 "damage" charge for some scratch I did not do. They provided zero evidence or photos. Even worse, I bought the extra insurance they offered at checkout. So when they sent me the charge, I asked, only to be told after the fact that it "doesn't cover the rental car." What exactly does it cover then? A coloring book? It's a complete bait-and-switch designed to confuse renters and wring more money out of them later. Now they're threatening to send me to collections and report me to credit agencies -- all based on a charge they refuse to properly document or explain. Total abuse of power. And from reading other reviews, I can see I'm not alone. This seems to be a repeat scam they run on unsuspecting travelers. Shame on this company. I exclusively used Sixt for car rentals while traveling in the US and Europe but after the experience I had on my last reservation I will never give them my business ever again. I reserved a car for a 3 week work trip using a third party app and prepaid for my reservation. My work plans changed and I needed to pick up the car a week later than originally scheduled. I called Sixt customer service (it is impossible to get ahold of an individual location) and spoke with an agent who said this wouldn't be a problem to pick the car up later as long as I was not asking for a refund (l wasn't). I arrived to pick up a car and Sixt said they wouldn't honor my prepaid reservation. Even though I still had two weeks left on the booking. They offered to treat me as a walk up reservation where unsurprisingly the rate for a rental nearly tripled for a two week rental versus what I originally paid for a 3 week rental. They had numerous cars available so this was not an availability issue. I now have to dispute the credit card charge since they are refusing to honor the reservation or provide a refund. Overall a terrible experience especially for someone who spent over $6,000 last year on Sixt rentals. read more

Rented a car from Sixt at Orlando airport. It would have been a 5 star review, but more than a week after the return I was sent a damage claim for $1037. There was no damage to the vehicle when returned that wasn't already there. I've called and emailed. No reply to my emails even though one was a response to the email sent to me. I keep being told I must have used the wrong email. Nope! They've been sent to the correct one. I've asked for specific information and now was told that they probably just deleted my email because they aren't required to provide the info requested. The reply to my Google review was to contact customer service. I did and was told they have nothing to do with claims. I find out today they're closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. However, they're recording says they're open Monday through Friday 9a-8p EST. Friday they don't even open until 12 EST. I'm getting notices threatening to send me to collections, but they won't answer my questions or respond to emails. This is ridiculous! Don't use this company. My review has to do with a business practice other than rentals. I unknowingly parked in a Sixt spot and flew to NY. Upon return in the evening my car was gone. They towed it to a god-awful remote location that was closed...on a rainy December night. The tow charge was $600 plus taxi service etc. The facility at Orlando was not plainly id'd as Sixt with no cars around except a clown sitting with the motor running. My conclusion: this is a revenue source for Sixt at Orlando. The tow company said they have several cars on their lot from Orlando Sixt. I am leaving out the agonizing details of the evening but you can likely imagine the horror. NEVER would I consider using this foreign soulless company. read more

This was one of the experiences I had with a car rental company in a long time. This rental company is located at the airport. You can schedule your pick and return here at the airport. I made my reservation through Sam's Club. The only thing I needed to do was provide my confirmation number. The service rep I believe his name is Rufio. He had a wonderful sense of humor. This was during the memorial day, holiday May 26, 2025. They had a lot full of vehicles. I just knew there would be an issue locating the vehicle I reserved. He located the vehicle I reserved and game me directions to the area to pick up the vehicle. Once I made it to the garage, the service attendant provided me with the keys and aisle and space number where the vehicle is located. Directions out of the garage was clear and concise. The return of the vehicle was very simple. There was an attendant in the garage waiting to assist each return vehicle. She made sure we got everything out of the vehicle and she checked the mileage as well as gas and gave me a receipt immediately via email. There were no extra hidden costs with this rental. Renter beware, total con artists! I booked a car for Orlando pickup and Miami drop-off but ended up having to switch it out at the Tampa Airport. When i picked it up, there was a suggested message on the screen to check tire pressure, which i didn't think was a big deal - I get this on my car a lot and it's weather related or a sensor issue. I drove 25 mins to my Apopka hotel. The next am when I got in the car to drive to a meeting, there was an urgent message (no longer suggested language) saying to check tire pressure, which showed the rear passenger tire at 20, w/the other three at 40. I put air in the tire. The next am I drove 2.5 hours to Tampa for a meeting. After the meeting, the tire pressure was at 30 with the other three at 40. I was scared to drive to Miami like this, so I called Sixt and they said to go to the Tampa Airport to switch it out. I had to drive 30 mins backwards, a huge inconvenience, but they gave me an upgrade, so I decided to let it go. Now I get an email saying the tire wasn't leaking and to fill out a damage form - ridiculolous! But this wasn't my first problem with them. The last time I rented from them, they gave me a car with a dent on the hood. I didn't see it when I left, but luckily I had stopped at the airport gas station before leaving the airport and saw it when I was there walking in to pay and took a pic of it. I assumed they must have known about it and have cams everywhere so didn't mention it. After returning the car I got a damage report saying I put a dent on their car. Do they not inspect their cars ever??? Like why didn't they see the tire light and the dent?? So I sent them the pic and they didn't pursue it. This business has been trying to scam me and my husband since October of 2025. They would not provide us any proof of what the were trying to charge us $500 extra for and we now know they do this to most of their customers. They will now be hearing from our Lawyer since my husband just recently was notified that his credit score went down 100 points because of this company. It was over 800. We went through Expedia, I called Sixt and they said Expedia had to refund our $$$when I called Expedia they gave me the same run around, so therefore I will never use any of these companies again. Had a great customer service experience purchasing the rental from Addie. Then the car stopped working because the key fob died and the car won't start and the person named grace I'm dealing with currently is horrible. Terrible attitude. I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere in a parking lot of the fourth floor for 2 hours. Still no response for when the replacement will be here. These cars were not checked when rented to us. That sucks that it's a budget company, 699 total for a week and I'm literally stuck in the cold with no option. At least could have offered me an uber to my hotel while I'm waiting. But instead I'm standing in the cold. Update I'm still standing in the cold and after calling and being transferred to a call center in the Philippines they quoted me 3 more hours. They won't allow me to cancel the reservation so they can tow and told me I can't go to my hotel via uber and wait. I have received no confirmation, no text or email to confirm that help is on the way Update #2 it's now an hour after the last update and my phone is about to die Update #3, it is now the morning after as my phone had died, the company brought me a new car via a third person towing company. I had called sixt back to tell them that the car was in a parking lot and there would be a 7ft clearance only and whatever tow they send should be able to accommodate that around 10:30. All this started at 8:30 pm, at 11:46 the tow with the new car finally arrived. The person driving the tow with BME towing was really nice. I had to meet him in the front since his car wouldn't clear the parking lot and then drive the new vehicle to the old vehicle. A new contract for a new rental was sent and they put my return time for 8:48 am in the morning without consulting me for the day I return it. To top it off after having to drive another 25 min back to the hotel in the dead of night. I used their automated system to change the drop off time and now have to pay an extra 60 dollars because sixt call center didn't confirm my drop off time. They just filled out the new contract information on their own taking whatever liberty they would like without me on the phone. Overall the communication is horrible, they didn't explain the process, I had no idea a new contracts being made or if someone is being sent out with a whole new actual car until someone from a third party showed up. Why didn't the third party have anything for me to sign when they arrived? Do better. Seriously. I spent hours of my hard earned vacation time seriously stressed out in the dead of night. There was a large smudge right in the middle of the driver's view. Fuel refill was offered at $12 per gallon! Rented a bmw convertible 4 series for 5 days and got a decent price. Drove it from Orlando to Key West and back. Pick up: our check in email link would not work. When we got to the counter, The Mohammad got us taken care of. He was fun to chat with. I had rented the car but hubby would be driving, so they made us switch payment and info, which Sixt has not made us do in the past, but it was a quick change. He then sent us to the garage for pick up. The garage attendant was not friendly, but not rude. Did not show us how to operate the convertible top, but we eventually figured out what we needed to do in the trunk. There was a large and deep scratch across the back near the license plate and top of the trunk that we took pictures of. Wish they would do a walk around with us and show us features, but whatever. Took our damage pics and headed out. Drop off: we entered the gate where we were practically blinded by the scanning of the car. It was 4:30am and dark, so not really their fault, but holy cow, I thought I was entering the land of eternal life with how bright it was. We drove up to the attendant and he had zero personality. Like not a good morning, greeting, fuck off, nothing. It was like speaking to Lurch from Addams Family. I think The Mohammad set the bar high for friendliness. Anyway I started taking pictures and showed him the damage scratches and he said "oh the car was scanned with over 300 pictures when you came in so you don't need pics." Nice try, but I've seen the reviews and have been thru this rodeo with rentals, so I continued taking my pictures. We did have the top down and needed it down to get our luggage out of the backseat. He kept repeating to put the top back up. Dude, chill, we're getting our luggage and there is one other car here... We put the top up, took the last few pics and handed him the keys. All in all, I would rent from Sixt again as we have in the past. It's usually pretty cheap, so expect a car that you can drive with no customer service from employees. Car fob died. We were in Disney World Magic Kingdom at 11 pm with 2 small exhausted children in the dark. Could not wait around. Left car and took an Uber back to hotel. I called to ask for a fob replacement brought to me. They said no. Have to go to them to pick it up! Booked a car and then went to update the return time from noon to 5 pm a week before arrival and hit save before realizing the price went from $348 to $960!!!! For the same dates, the only difference is 5 hours. I immediately called and was put on hold for one hour, no one ever came back on the line. Hung up and called again, the agent checked and said yep, that's the new price as the extra "day" is that much more. This is crazy!!! Her suggestion was to cancel and rebook as the price was cheaper that way. Huh? I cancelled altogether and booked with Enterprise with the times I need for the same price ($350) as before. Don't book with Sixt and sure don't show up one minute past the due time if you do as I'm sure I would have been hit with that ridiculous upcharge. So unprofessional-- from the phone wait time to the pricing engine. read more
