We left with about three pounds, and the fruit lasted a while in our fridge. Very fun way to spend time with friends, and they make delicious jam or cobbler. My favorite thing to do with leftover jam is pour the hot mixture over vanilla ice cream. Blueberry chocolate scones or pancakes are another of my favorites. I also got two jars of pasta sauce in roasted garlic and the other was portobello mushroom. I got one jar of Carolina reaper salsa as well. I thought these items would be great to bring back home and enjoy. Cashier was very friendly. Everything came out to about sixty bucks which wasn't bad at all. I have already tried the salsa and it is nice and spicy. The huckleberry preserves are good. I spooned a little into a small bowl and topped it with Tillamook vanilla bean ice cream and some granola crumbles. There are so many possibilities with the what I got and I am looking forward to trying everything. I look forward to trying more items from Farmer John's when we are in the area again.

My husband and I both like to add additional fruit, which means the shakes end up being an outrageous $10+ each and yet...we get them a couple times a month in the summer. Besides the shakes they do have a lot to offer: some produce they've grown themselves as well as much that is from elsewhere, snacks, beverages, fresh cut flowers (peonies, zinnias, delphinium, etc, (and the flowers are surprisingly well priced), plants, and even gift-y or souvenir items, like candles, mugs, etc. Foodwise, they have strawberry short cakes and a rotating selection of baked goods like cakes and cookies, plus smoothies, sundaes, and fruit lemonades. They have bouncy houses and some fun activities available for little ones, plus U-pick on some items, so it could make a great little stop for a break or just to stretch your legs on the way home from the beach. Honestly, it's such a cute spot with fun things to do and a great variety of items, including some local. I was here for apples, and they had a ton of options. They were very friendly and patiently explained the process. You fill buckets and then pay at the end. They have pull carts so you can move multiple buckets around. There are so many varieties of apples! There is a chart at the entrance to the orchard with the names and what purpose is best for each kind of apple (eating, baking, applesauce). They also let you sample the apples to help with the selection process. The orchards extend farther than was apparently from the parking lot. It was peaceful at the far end of some of the rows, and we found plenty of apples. It can be muddy, so boots are probably a good idea. It was a lovely fall day, with blue skies. This was a fun way to connect with the season and to become more familiar with where some of our food comes from. Highly recommended.
