There is always good music playing and it's nice and cool inside. All the veggies (and fruit sometimes) is laid out on tables and there are clear signs as to how much of each item you can take. For instance, you can take two leeks, 3 lbs of carrot, a bag of lettuce, etc. I really like the way they set this up, because if you're not a fan of something, you can skip it and not let it go to waste in your fridge or pantry. They send out emails to go with the week and give you storage information and cooking recipes for the food you are getting that week. It's a lovely touch and I appreciate the information, especially when it's with something I don't normally get on my own. It's a wonderful thing to support local farms and farmers, so I'm thrilled we found Working Hands Farm. I also suggest you follow their Instagram! They have beautiful examples of their weekly hauls and show you what life is like on the farm.

The alpacas were so cute, and the person explaining the alpacas to us was so kind in answering all of our questions. If you're ever in need of some alpaca-warmth, this is a good place to come experience that.

So when we arrived, I ran the door bell on the gift shop door (per instructions on the door) and a very nice lady came out from the office. I asked her if it was possible to feed some alpacas and she said yes. I bought two little sandwich size bags of small pellets for $5 each. All of us (6 adults) was able to feed the very friendly alpacas. They do not bite as they only have bottom teeth. They eat the pellets right from your hand. There were also a few baby alpacas you can feed. Just as another reviewer wrote - they are affiliated with a non-profit organizer and work with Peru to save the alpacas. Alpacas are adorable animals and I'm so glad we visited this farm. There is a little gift shop where you can buy all kinds of alpaca products but we ran out of time - we had so much fun feeding the alpacas. I highly recommend this as a pit stop and you'll learn all about them while feeding them.

Stopped in today to see - did I have a membership? I know I used a card that's tied to an old email - so really truly unsure. Figured it would be a no or a pickup. Instead; when I wanted to try a wine to see if it was worth drinking, I got the third degree. I dared to ask for a wine on the wall behind the counter - apparently those aren't wines that they have but a display of old ones. LOL: So I ascertained from the experience that I won't likely want to come back so I requested cancellation. No hard feelings - nothing bad - just not my deals Then was asked why - well, I'm from California wine country and I don't want to continue to he a member at a winery with wine I don't enjoy and a vibe I don't like. Kudos to the other worker who got the hint and helped me to checkout. This place is lovely and clearly has a strong following so much love to local businesses like this. I just would have loved a little kindness (reminder this was an issue with one of the workers and not the other - she was a delight!!)

This year however we've made it more of a priority. This one is right close to our home (about 15 minutes away). One of my all time favorite wines is the Toasted Cow White Blend from Oak Knoll. Sweet but not too sweet and light and refreshing, perfect for a Summer's day. Highly recommend.

It was wonderful to be able to call Big Trees and set a time to see their trees. Daniel took us around and also helped us as we considered several types of trees. We determined that a Somerset Red Maple would be large enough and that it would be relatively easy on yard maintenance. The tour helped us decide that we really needed a tall (30' feet) to enjoy in the next few years. Big Trees was excellent at setting up a date and delivering the tree. It was amazing just to watch the equipment as they dug the hole and planted the tree (see pictures). Now we just need to follow their directions. Felix and the staff planting the tree were easy to work with. They helpled take down and reinstall part of our fence and they cleaned upt he site very well.
