Over all I had a lot of fun walking a little nervous but the park is really fenced all around and it had safe doors so your dog is not goi g to run away when someone comes in or walks out. For one there's a little pond that's nice for laying by. There's also amenities including a playground. A pretty good amount of space considering it's surrounded by houses. It's even big enough for a pond around which the park is situated on. The main reason why people come here though is the pretty modern playground. Has the things to keep children occupied for a few minutes. There's a jungle gym, slide, and swings. For sure it's not that interesting, but it doesn't have to be. It's located on Middlebury at Spinnaker. This is also good for exercise like jogging or walking.

But nestled within all of it is actually a dog park, and I've taken my dog multiple times cannot wait for spring to come to take him again. It is a great plot of land that is split into two sections. You have one section for smaller dogs, and one for bigger dogs. More than enough space for your furry friend to run and get a good workout in. There is walking path on the perimeter of the park which is a nice little walk with your own pup (sometimes multiple pups who opt to tag along). It can get crowded at the park at times, but you really only need a good solid 30 minutes - just bring some water in case. There are a ton of dog bowls throughout the park but good to have extras!

I have four kids, three upright and one fur baby. I can't (and wouldn't) "leave them at home" nor do I hire a babysitter so I can take my dog to the dog park. ‍ Please be kind to all the families with dogs and kids. We do our best to respect that this is a "dog park" not a people park. But my kids are excited to run and play with their fur sibling and so long as it's not a crowded day, I feel they should do so without the shaming. We take our dog everywhere, including the people park...and no one has ever told us we should have left our dog at home.

There's a paved walk leading from the parking lot to the water and another side where you walk on grass to reach the fenced in area. It was a little confusing our first visit here as we didn't notice any clear signage directing us where to get to the water or other areas from the grassy path. Our pups enjoyed their visit very much and although the small body of water didn't look the cleanest, we still let them cool off and enjoy a swim. The picnic tables in a shaded area were appreciated on a hot day. Bring lot's of drinking water for you and your pet! Also, as with most dog parks, remember that any toys you bring for fetching are likely going to be "fair game" to the many other dogs you might see here.

This is a large, well maintained area for your four legged friend to roam around, play ball, or just socialize with other dogs. My dog likes to jump on top of the picnic tables reserved for humans and slobber all over, but it is a dog park, so people just have to deal. One thing I will comment on, is that if your dog humps, you should probably watch them. It's just obnoxious and some other dogs will snap if they are continuously being mounted. What is that anyway? I understand they're animals but really, don't you think you should discourage yours from doing that to stranger's pets? Yeahhh.. Trails-- on the far west end of WS park, there are some trails that are pretty secluded. There are great hills for running and it's very pretty. I think this may be a good spot for XC skiing as well, but I've yet to delve into that activity so we'll see this winter. I really like it, it's peaceful (albeit a bit creepy). There are also community garden plots that you can rent for a summer near the dog park. I'll probably update my review after this summer since I'm getting one this year!! I'm not sure if this is really considered a different park than the James O. Breen portion but if not, there are tons of soccer fields and Otter Cove splash park (which I've never been to). P.S. There is a boy's home (correctional center) located just south of the park, but it's very well secured and I've never seen anyone from inside in the years that I've been coming here.

There are, however, some folks that don't control their dog when they get over-excited or aggressive. I, too, have noticed that there is a lot of dog poop laying around. There are plenty of bags (free) and refuse cans to put the garbage in. It's a little small, but there are plenty of places to rest. My shepherd enjoys his time with his dog buddies and loves to walk the perimeter.

Be aware that GPS is not accurate and the park is hidden in the Sports Complex about 3/4 of a mile down from where GPS tells you. Aggressive dogs are not welcome here as posted on the sign.
