Loved the open air feel. The club house is spacious and has a view everywhere. Patio seats and activities galore.

Walk in, scan the QR code or grab a menu and find a seat. Plan your meal and visit the bar to order (better than being ignored across the street). Self-serve your drinks and before you know it you have food. My wife had Ceasar salad and was pleasantly surprised to find it contained halved cherry tomatoes. A salad is a salad, unless it's bad. You rarely notice if good, but this one was. A perfect salad lunch for her. My daughter had spaghetti and meatballs. She loved it. We're usually picky about Italian food and rarely order it from a non Italian place, but we've been on the road and she was starving. From the first bite she was hooked. Bursting with flavor, certainly part pork and full of herbs. Clearly made in house. My son and I split a margarita pizza and it hit hard. Paper thin. For dinner we'd need one each, but for lunch splitting it was perfect. Great flavor top to bottom. The paper thin crust, the tangy sauce, and good quality cheese topped with a generous amount of fresh basil. Bonus for the red hot sauce (green tasted artificial) which I grabbed a spoon to taste with as soon as we sat down, I love hot sauce. And for the classic rock playlist. Highly recommend for a quick meal.

When we got there, it made some of the non food related reviews I'd read even funnier because this is just a good ole roadside place, doing bbq right, living its most authentic life. You could tell other people were put off by the "greasy menu" or the mismatched tables and chairs and the funky decor but what they should've been paying attention to was the absolute takeover of your senses when you walked in from the smell of the meats. That's the real measure of a bbq place. As soon as you opened the door you were just in a cloud of meaty aroma. We shared the three meat smaller with brisket, sausage and pork belly. For sides we got the potato mac, mac and cheese and coleslaw. The pork belly was incredible, star of the show. The brisket had great flavor but it was more of a lean brisket, so take a peek as you're ordering to see if that's what you prefer to avoid disappointment. Sausage was a good size. Mac and cheese was hearty. The potato mac was noodle based, reminded me of the potato salad you get a lot in Hawaii. You definitely leave as full as you want to be. They didn't have desserts (which was not our compliant but rather a woman in front of us who couldn't believe they didn't have a cobbler or a banana puddin of some kind). As we were sitting and eating, a constant stream of people came through and they did run out of the brisket and some side dishes. The location is right next to a campground so it seems like everyone pops over for lunch or an early dinner so they don't have to drive anywhere. There is a bar also and an outside eating area (when it isn't 100 degrees out).

Automatic 20% gratuities added to any food or beverage charge. For some reason they started us on the back nine in the late morning. Often there were three groups backed up on several holes and we waited on almost every hole. Four kids were ahead of us. They were awful, but were playing the tips as well as lying down on the greens. You'd think with all the money they are charging they would want players to think they had a worthwhile and enjoyable round. You will never see a marshal as they pay zero attention to what happens to you after they've collected your dough. They did buy new carts last year and they are the worst carts I've ever driven. They stop all the time and say you're in restricted areas, when you're not. Then you have to drive backwards to move. Slow play messages get sent out to everyone even though you're waiting behind two groups. Worst run course in the state. They've ruined the place.

The elevation is just perfect for this type of stay. They do have some pull through spots and we were put in Spot 34 so we had nice shade as well. I believe we paid 15 extra dollars a night for the shady trees and it was well worth it. The site was not very level. One of the really nice discoveries is they have a pretty decent fitness center and it was right across the parking lot from us. Only one treadmill was not working, otherwise it looked like everything else was in good working order. Quite a bit of equipment too. there are a couple restaurants nearby but we did not visit any of them. There is a small store near the front office that did have some canned goods and such if you're in a pinch. They have a really nice pool and the laundry room was very good size although I didn't know there were quite a few machines that were out of order. We were still able to get everything done. It's a busy park and is popular with people who come and stay for the summer. They do have Park home you can purchase. We could not get their Wi-Fi to work. You could connect to it briefly, but it would drop you eventually. Verizon signal was very good though.
