Had some amazing drinks but what sets this place apart is the people there. All of the bartenders were friendly and down to earth. If you want to get to know the locals make sure to sit at the bar. Highly recommend.

First visit to Foxes was for a special event. Not sure about the regular entrance or usual menu because they had us wait in the alley to come in the back, and it seemed they had possibly created a specially-designed cocktail menu for the show? There was a small stage in the corner, a fun seating arrangement, and an equally fun atmosphere created by the lighting. Again, not sure if all of that belongs to the venue, but for a show it was top-notch. First, their website isn't very informational. Sure, it's all slick, glossy, flashy and trendy, but if you glance at the various pages, it seems more designed to attract investors for Foxes Hospitality Group (FHG) than providing any easy knowledge. Nowhere on the homepage is the location. If you scroll down to the bottom right, you have a link to a telephone number, scroll up for contact and you get a strange address of: 1136 Yampa Street #3 LL. Why wouldn't that be on your homepage and the soliciting investors on your contact page? You also are not provided with the cocktail menu (or food, if they even have any?) As of this review, if you click on MENU link, it simply redirects to the CONTACT page. While I can appreciate the Mixologist might not want to share any drink secrets online, or be married to concoctions that are seasonal and they're too lazy to update the webpage, it strikes less as a cryptic introduction to a speakeasy feel (like figuring out which place in the alley is where you're looking for) and more as an annoyance to not have a glimpse in advance for what cocktails are popular there, and even more elusive, how much they'll cost you. Assuming the menu below is the venue's usual one, you can now get a glimpse of the various cocktails, and in my case, each was $20 and up, except for the Topo Chico listed which they didn't have, and charged me $3.50 for club soda. The service from Gretchen was nice, the vibe was great; the Velvet French Martini, I would definitely get again. A few restrooms, didn't get to see the front portion, I don't think. It just seems that from the silent website, and going there for a special event and not their "normal" configuration; perhaps the show had much more to offer than the venue itself? I'd probably return for a second attempt at Foxes if a group wanted to go there or ended up there after other activities downtown. But because of their sporadic hours, it most likely would only be to attend another show there.

Pleasantly underrated... For now. This is your traditional word of mouth hidden speakeasy gem. It's about time the boat catered to the spirits. Get in early find yourself a spot in this quaint bar. Come with an open mind and enjoy some of the tantalizing elixirs these folks have to offer both on and off menu. Excellent drink with a pleasant down to earth service.

He was not only our bartender but was also one of the owner along with Samantha who I got to meet for the first time. Everyone was so friendly and was definitely a win connoisseur. I love their happy hour from Vail. Everything was price reasonable. I love that you could get any wine for 3 ounce for half the price. That allowed me to try almost every wine on the list. Yes. And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

It was completely dead at 12pm on the Saturday I was there. I ordered a Buddha Bowl with Pork Belly ($25+$8) which definitely reflected the higher prices and cost of living of the greater Vail area. Service was great. Decor was charming. Plenty of parking in spaces right outside. This was my second choice for lunch that day, but now it'll be my go-to whenever I'm here in the future!

We opted to sit inside (instead of the outdoor patio that has a view of the parking lot). The food and cocktail menu was unique Asian Mexican fusion. We ordered the: *Yuzu One For Me - green tea vodka, yuzu, grapefruit mint *Red Harvest - gin, red pepper, mint, chili, lime *Rose Ramen - miso bone broth, pork belly, soft boiled egg*, basil, ginger, scallion, sriracha *Taco Platter - 4 tacos (chose 2 ahi & 2 pork belly) All the portions were very small so if you have a bigger appetite, you should order an appetizer. Ample parking. Staff wasn't very friendly (but they might have been in a hurry to get us to leave since we were the last patrons in there). In a quaint plaza called the Riverwalk. Lots of cute shops, eateries, and a 2 screen movie theater that has a surprisingly large food menu.

First, the pricing transparency on modifications is frustrating. My son ordered the $12 mac and cheese (which includes a drink). Upon ordering the server offered broccoli or chicken as an option. He chose broccoli, assuming it was a standard side swap or inclusion. Instead, we were charged $1 for the broccoli and an extra $3 for the fruit. Second, drink pricing was a letdown. -For $14 the frosted coconut margarita was served in a short highball glass rather than premium glassware. -I was charged $17.57 for a double Malibu Pineapple, (they added an extra $1 charge just for the pineapple juice mixer). -To top it off, the drink took 12 minutes to arrive because our server was preoccupied with a recently seated large party. Finally, be aware that they add an automatic 3% "Kitchen and Brewer Appreciation" surcharge to the bill, on top of normal tax and tip. While the food was great, the unbundled charges for standard mixers, deceptive side options, and extra surcharges leave a bad taste. Food: Rueben was great. Husband wished for more sauce but I thought it was the perfect balance. Kiddo loved the broccoli and mac. Pro tip: Check your receipt (which we didn't get until *after* we cashed out). Server (who was great, by the way) came to our table in a break from his large table and announced our total so we didn't see the breakdown until the text receipt arrived.
