Trails go both ways along the river and aside from the golf course. Due to the tall grass and bushes, recommend wearing long pants and shoes that you don't mind getting dirt/mud on. The park is secluded so you'll get some peace of mind here. I think that's why we visit parks right?

And…read moreit was right - the main trails, which snakes along the Potomac, was very easy for my little girl to walk (or skip). Not to mention it's beautiful, even on the foggy morning we paid the park a visit. Just past a clearing, you can climb down to the river and, that morning, the sight of water and sky blending into each other and the entire landscape covered in fog was something out of a storybook (or the set of a horror movie, I guess, depending on how you look at things). After a little exploring and a (very) light hike, we came back to the clearing for a little snack. There are a couple of picnic tables but you'd be just as fine laying out a blanket. The list I mentioned earlier called the park a "best-kept secret" of the area. Being tucked away behind the Lansdowne golf course and a residential neighborhood, I'd say that's true. "Secluded" is another word that seems to be used often to describe the park. Also true and a welcome quality in pandemic times. But while it may not be one of the most well-known parks in the area, it still enjoys quite a few visitors and the parking lot looks like it can fit no more than 20 cars at a time. Luckily, everyone we encountered - even on the trail - was masked...and very friendly! We enjoyed this park very much. With a young toddler, the hiking enthusiasts that we are a little limited in where we can go. Happy to add this Riverfront gem to our "will return" list.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it's surrounded by roads on three sides and not fenced in so chasing after multiple children on your own can be difficult.

This park is mainly for baseball/softball games as you can see. It's also great for walking your…read moredog or flying your drone as I saw some people do. Not much walking or biking you can do here. However, if you go further down past the fields in the middle, you'll see a path that leads you to the Beaverdam Resevoir, the large body of water in the Brambleton/Ashburn area. Gorgeous view when it's nice outside. It's a hassle to get through as you weave through the tall grass and fallen trees but the view itself is worth it. There's more trails down there for hiking too.

But it was closed last time I went through Marshall as construction was not yet completed. It's located just off of Route 55 just east of beautiful, downtown Marshall, VA. It's open now, I visited yesterday as my neighbors were holding a birthday party for their 3 year old daughter at the park. They reserved a covered pavilion which had plenty of tables, a grill, and was close to lots of playground equipment for the mass of writhing kids attending the party and now running amok through the park. The park offers a lot of park amenities - from the park web site: "Open year-round, the park boasts 8 athletic fields including baseball, softball, soccer and football. The park also features two concession stands, 8 picnic shelters, an amphitheater, three playgrounds, a two mile paved multi-use trail, 3 indoor restrooms, fishing lake, meeting room and plenty of beautifully landscaped open space. Recreational programs are available for your enjoyment." I plan to come back to walk and hike, fish the lake, and maybe even grill out some time!

This park was one I had not yet been too and today I was on my own, so, NFCP it was! Pulled into the office area on the left at the enterance and read the map. 1.75 mile trail. Perfect. I wan't the only one out jogging in the rain either. - I was impressed that this park has 4 different locations with playground equipment. One with swings. 3 right next to restrooms that are actual builings. Not porta potties. I think I counted 2 consession stands next to 2 of the 4 playgrounds. Many shelters and standup grils to use. Some of these grills look huge! Very impressive; especially in the shelters by the lake. picnic tables outside the shelter areas as well. Also on site is an ampitheatre. I'm pretty sure this place gets crowded in the spring and summer just like the Warf in Warrenton. Today...it was not. - While jogging I could hear the trains whistling in the near distance. Ducks/geese wadling and quacking nearby. Even with the fog and being December you could see the beautiful ( I think ), Hawthorne trees (?) with their bright red berries. I had to google the tree. It was so pretty. -Check out my pictures but please note--It is Dec 26th and very foggy with a drizzling rain! If I hadn't already mentioned that!

Good for relaxing if you are walking down S.King Street. A few public parking spots on the street with a few more parking spots in the small strip mall across the street. Also a few yards from the newly opened Black Walnut Brewery. Good place to chill and for those with kids who are Pokemon fanatics, kids say this is a great spot to catch alot.

The trails to the lake and around the older barns and buildings are not paved and may be difficult for the mobility impaired but they are level. Overall, this is a good park with a lot to offer visitors from sports to nature. It's a peaceful, enjoyable spot worth visiting if you're in the Dulles are

Saw this from the corner of my eye as I was driving alongside the road, checked it out, and was amazed and pleased at what I had discovered: another park/trail in Loudoun! There's multiple trails here and several soccer fields. Plus you get a nice glimpse of the pond as well. Perfect for walking your dog or doing a quick hike when you've got time to kill.

Water supply via a hosed faucet where all the dogs gather for refreshment. Outdoor potty area for humans by the parking area.
