I stopped by Foxtail Coffee in Midtown Atlanta and came away with mixed feelings. The décor is beautiful--clean, modern, and a great spot to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. I ordered an 8 oz cappuccino, but it felt more like 4 oz of coffee and 4 oz of foam. I know cappuccinos are supposed to have foam, but this one had way more foam than I expected. I was hoping for a better balance so I could actually enjoy more of the coffee. The coffee itself was just okay. The atmosphere was definitely the highlight of my visit, and the shop has a really nice vibe. I'd be willing to give them another try, but next time I'll probably order something other than the cappuccino. read more

Great place to work from on a weekend morning! The shop was clean and the bathrooms were clean. I lived that I could grab water as I needed from the fountain in the front. I got a mocha which was pretty decent coffee, kept me going for the day. I also got a banana bread slice but that was a big no for me. Service was pretty standard, and fast enough for me. Independent coffee shops represent a beautiful core of American small business and add a charm to their neighborhoods. One might have a hipster vibe, another might be a dog cafe. Foxtail in Midtown is a newer location, having opened in the summer of 2024 and now roughly a year old at the time of the review. It's the fourth location in Georgia and there are over fifty locations in its home state of Florida, where roasting takes place. The interior design is a contemporary cozy take on a coffee shop with white tile walls, industrial style lamps and warm wood tones. There is a pleasant sense of coziness to it. There is also a patio that, like most Atlanta patios, is mediocre. Without any separation from the busy road through plants, it's an experience of gas fumes and uncomfortable seating. Yet, there is a cool Fox mural to enjoy. Some flowers and larger plants could transform this place, but for now, it's not particularly great. The coffees themselves are solid. On a recent experience however, the barista did not know how to make a pour over coffee despite it being a menu item. Another barista did teach her, but it turned out a bit like a cigar in a cup. Probably would not go for that again here and stick to well tested spots like Brash for more precise beverages. Cappuccinos are very nice here. The inside seating is a mix of high top tables and standard seats. Somehow the "Fo" letters already are missing from the main Fox Coffee logo inside. Standard seats are very limited, thus high top tables are the main option. What's slightly unpleasant there is the lack of comfort. The stools next to them don't even have a back or a cushion on the bottom. As a result, it looks great from a design standpoint, but not so comfortable to sit for longer than half an hour. As a whole, Foxtail is a good coffee shop, especially for to go orders. Stick to lattes and cappuccinos, stay clear of pour over and enjoy the vibe. read more

my thoughts here are just a placeholder until Foxtail gets beans in for sale (I asked if I could buy the display blend and they politely declined). and hey man, good Yelpers always update reviews on the reg, right? anyways, this joint got built out fast and well: interior is modern-rustic (my personal fave) with wonderful appointments and finishes. don't get me wrong, small spaces are cozy (and this one is) but I would've liked a bit more room to breathe. not a fan of Starbucks, like at all, so I will take it. will update again after tasting the coffee. for now though, very promising. read more

I treated my coworkers to coffee and pastries this morning. The location is adjacent to my parking deck and convenient. There's covered high top tables and chairs on the terrace. The indoor dining area is warm and cozy with more high tops plus big plush chairs for relaxing. This location has both coffee plus wine and beer options. We ordered a variety of coffee drinks plus chai latte beverages. We also ordered the banana bread and chocolate croissants. Everything was excellent!! Super fast and helpful employees! The little shop was cute, with enough for me to look at while we waited, which wasn't long at all! The coffee, I'm not sure, honestly, if it's good, but the drinks we got were absolutely delightful!!!! Probably the best coffees we have had in a while. I got a coffee con leche and the hubs got a mocha latte with coconut milk. His was so chocolatey and yummy! Comforting! Mine was sweet, creamy and delicious! Foxtail was right down the block from where we stayed. It's a very nice coffee shop, the staff were great as well. I had a plain bagel with cream cheese which was nice and soft and they give you the cream cheese on the side which I like the ice cream latte was good as well. My friend had a lemon cake and the banana latte which she enjoyed as well. My friend and I enjoyed this place one of the few places that was actually open in the morning. read more

I live within like walking distance of this place. So I had always asked people if it was worth walking to. You know how they felt about it and I always got mixed reviews. So today I visited the vet right next to it and it just made sense to stop and have a coffee and people watch. Which it is a great place to do those things. They have a nice sitting area outside where you can face the city and watch the traffic, Foot traffic and car traffic walk by there's a beautiful park across the street where you can continue your walk if you would like. With a water fountain feature. But when you visit this place, you can see straight through all the way to the back, it is very clean set up very well, and the drinks are all handcrafted. They also have gelato as well as light eats. From what I heard in my understanding this coffee place has a lot of options and if you understand what you're getting and what you want, you will have no problems lol like if you just get a espresso with milk, that is what it's going to taste like. It is going to be nothing special. But I tried their seasonal maple berry latte and it was amazing. It gave me all the fall feels and it was a great ice beverage to sit in people watching and I even walked across the street to the park and finished it off. Great 9 AM morning Sunday vibes. Typically get great drinks from other foxtail locations, but received attitude from a barista after asking her to remake a drink in which she melted the plastic cup by throwing hot shots right into it. New drink was served with an eye roll and what tasted like really poorly extracted decaf shots. I would say the best part of this coffee shop is the ambiance. I like the atmosphere it was pretty welcoming. Service was a little lacking but I do think it's because there was one person working; making the drinks, taking the orders, everything. So the lack of service is no fault other than lack of employees. I had to wait 5-7 minutes to order when no one was in front of me. I will say she was nice and noticed that she was very helpful to explaining the different coffees to the man in line behind me. The coffee was not that good unfortunately. I don't have an image unfortunately but I got the ice latte with caramel flavoring. It had a weird after taste and there was maybe espresso grounds at the bottom that I could see and it just tasted bad. I would not go again for the coffee maybe the atmosphere. read more

Had a great experience here. The owner is so friendly and went out of his way to introduce himself and tell me about his new space. I did complain to him about the space having no parking :( but he told me another option of where I can park next time and then gave me a free coffee on Foxtail the next time I come in! I had a somewhat unusual experience at this location. The atmosphere was okay--very clean--but they were playing a Christmas music playlist, which felt a bit out of place for August. The staff seemed friendly but appeared inexperienced. I noticed them pulling shots of espresso in just 10-12 seconds, which suggests they either lack proper training or aren't paying attention to the details. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after we had already ordered two drinks: an iced quad mocha (left in photo) and a chai (right in photo) The issue with our drinks likely stemmed from misreading the receipt, though they were rung up correctly. With three employees behind the counter and a manager overseeing, it still took about 18 minutes to get our drinks, even with only about four orders ahead of us. When the barista finally handed me the drinks, I immediately sensed something was off. I had to ask her to confirm which drink was which, and I suspected my drink was only a double shot instead of a quad. However, I didn't want to make a fuss over a minor mistake, so we decided to take the drinks and leave. As soon as I took a sip of my mocha, it was clear there was a problem--I could barely taste any mocha or coffee; it was mostly just milk. My wife's chai had the opposite issue--it tasted primarily of coffee, with little to no chai flavor. Since she can't have caffeine, we had to go back inside to get it corrected. We opted for a refund rather than wait for a remake. I didn't want another watered-down coffee, especially after seeing them consistently pull espresso shots in under 15 seconds, which explained why my drink had so little coffee flavor. It took them a few minutes to process the refund, but the manager did apologize and offered us two free drink cards as compensation. However, after waiting a little over two weeks, the refund never came through. I'll eat the loss, considering I received the free drink cards and I'm glad they still received a tip from the charge on my card. While the staff was pleasant, they could definitely benefit from more training, especially in basic coffee-making standards. Mistakes happen, but errors in the actual drink preparation are harder to overlook. I'll probably give them another chance in the future--it's clear they're still figuring things out. But, Christmas music in August? I love the holidays, but it didn't match the theme and added to the overall oddness of the visit. read more

My husband and I ordered tea with oat milk. My English breakfast tea was weak. What disappointed me so much was the 75 cent up-charge for milk that is intended for calves and not humans. For people who are lactose intolerant you are forcing them to pay more so they don't get incredibly sick. For those who are vegan, you are forcing them to pay more to enjoy a drink that is based on compassion and not pain and torture. read more

Foxtail Coffee-Midtown recently opened not too long ago on W. Peachtree St. (at the bottom of Hanover Midtown Apartments). Not sure about parking, as my husband and I ended up walking here. The shop is very warm and inviting inside, giving a modern farmhouse kind of feel. It's also pretty spacious, considering the location. Luckily when we came, it wasn't busy so we could take our time ordering. I ended up getting a sugar free vanilla latte, and I believe my husband got a matcha green tea latte. Both were good, nothing amazing. Also, I would say all of the staff were very nice. The owner was even there this day, and was really cool as well. I think my biggest qualm is that the menu isn't as straight forward as I wanted it to be. There's coffee and espresso options, of course, but I couldn't tell if there were any signature/specialty drinks like a fall latte available. I saw something that looked like a specialty drink flash on the TV screen behind the counter, but when I inquired about it, the person behind the register sort of dismissed it. When I asked about syrups, there weren't many options it seemed. Not sure if this is the norm. I just think that the staff may need a little more training on the menu. I did notice that they also sell gelato and some food options. I would like to give this place another try and maybe order something more interesting next time. read more

Our barista was so sweet, we weren't sure what to order (everything looked delicious) and she offered to help us by asking a set of questions to narrow down what she should suggest and you could just tell that she was very enthusiastic about coffee and about helping us. She ended up recommending a cold brew with oat milk that was smooth and incredible. They have a happy hour between five and six that sounds like so much fun but we are not local so unfortunately we won't be able to take advantage of it however, very cool!!
