Bulla Gastrobar on 11th Street was always a great Midtown spot, and I'm actually sorry to see that this location has closed. I remember having the Blueberry Breeze, which was light, refreshing, and just sweet enough with the blueberry and lemon. I also had the Kale Caesar, and I really enjoyed it. The Manchego and Serrano-Caesar dressing gave it a little more flavor than your standard Caesar. The atmosphere was one of the things I liked most about Bulla. It was modern, lively, and social without feeling like you had to scream across the table to have a conversation. It worked just as well for lunch or after-work drinks as it did for sitting down and sharing a few tapas. Service was always friendly and attentive, and the tapas-style menu made it easy to order a few things and share instead of committing to one large meal. The 11th Street location was also right in the middle of Midtown, so it was an easy place to meet up for lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Standouts were the option for a half-paella of the day for lunch (batch-made obviously) and a sleeper dessert that was one of the best I've had (flan and ice cream), a mere $6 add-on to your lunch special. Incentive to indulge! Croquettas were less interesting and the paella isn't as intensely flavored as typical in Spain, but here in Atlanta entirely decent. This section of the city near the Federal Reserve has quite a few interesting dining options. I liked Bulla's open design. My best friend and I were in town for a music festival and ended up at Bulla Gastrobar after our original brunch spot was too crowded. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Charles, who was incredible. He knew the menu well, gave great recommendations, and made the experience easy and fun from start to finish. I have referred/ brought so many business lunches here! The salmon with the cream sauce is absolutely amazing and never dry. The tuna tartare is so fresh and cool which just hits the spot on a hot summer day. Their two for $15 tapas deal is great for sharing and allows you to sample a good portion of the menu. All the wine is stellar. Staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful but we did have a server once who was pretty rude. Before I get to the food, MAJOR props to our wonderful server, Ilyeana, who had awesome recommendations and helped us make great choices -- and the perfect number so we still had room to share dessert. It's like Spanish pad thai, but totally different taste. Rice noodles with tender chicken, spices (flavorful, not hot), chickpeas and, well, unicorn dust, I think. SO GOOD. 6. SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST: Chorizo Stuffed Dates -- EHRMAGERD. They were roasted or seared or something magical -- one of the most delicious appetizers/small plates I've ever experienced! (By the way, we were three people in total, and this was perfect for us). As I mentioned, we had room for dessert -- so we shared a coconut flan and an oreo cheesecake. They were both good, but I LOVED the cheesecake. You know how cheesecake can be dense and heavy? Again -- the theme of this restaurant is LIGHT and FLAVORFUL. Once again -- the best Oreo cheesecake I've ever had. We were only in town for a few days and had hoped to return -- but we didn't get back this trip. The lunch was good and really worth the price. At $17 I get a big bowl of delicious butternut soup (seasonal dish) and a personal size paella. The lighting was a bit bright, and the music was low enough that we were probably louder than the speakers (classic New York and New Jersey energy!). The menu is tapas-style, perfect for sharing. While they do offer paella, I passed--being a regular visitor to Barcelona, I'm pretty skeptical of paella anywhere on this side of the Atlantic. That said, their tortilla was fantastic, and the garlic shrimp hit all the right notes--savory, buttery, and just garlicky enough. Next, we tried the flatbread pizza with chorizo, which was a great choice. The crust was crispy and the toppings were flavorful. It was a great option for sharing or enjoying as a main course. They make sure to use large tomato slices on the flatbread which makes it unique. We also had the bulla burger, and it did not disappoint. The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. It was a classic burger done right. I really liked the breakfast potatoes that came with it. I thought the potatoes were seasoned well, but I wish they were thinly cut. The Potato Tortilla, which was an omelet with caramelized onions and aioli on the side, surprised me as I was unsure of what to expect. I think the caramelized onions were the highlight of the dish as it really made the omelet. The main entree was the Huevos Bulla. I liked the serrano (cured ham) that came with the dish as it really added flavor to an otherwise bland dish. The eggs and potato crisps could have been seasoned more in my opinion. For dessert, we got the Torrija which was a brioche drenched in honey with a salted caramel gelato. I enjoyed this dessert a lot. My friend and I also got their bottomless mimosas and we were able to do mimosas or sangrias, which was nice. I would say that their drinks were also kind of strong. Next the drinks took 30 min to come out, and then on 2 trips, mostly driven from a broken glass somewhere in the bar area? Pretty wild especially since 1 drink was a simple pour of wine. Next we endured multiple attempts of being brought other tables food. Lastly they brought out food separately and instead of coordinating everyone's dinner coming at once with the paella, 3/4 of us got our food while the 4th waited another 10 min. On the bright side, service was friendly, the food was good when it finally came and they had the wherewith-all to comp our drinks without us saying anything. We dined upstairs, which was ideal--the noise level was just right, allowing us to converse without shouting over each other. My friends and I cherish a good dining experience, so we began with the charcuterie board. I also indulged in the in-house lavender lemonade, which was delightfully refreshing. Afterward, we ordered the Mediterranean salad and the salmon carpaccio. Which was both delicious, opening up our pallet for the calamari and the steak. The grilled steak was paired with truffle potatoes and mushroom. For desert we had the Cafe Bombon - Sweetened condensed milk, espresso with the Torijjo. The Cafe Bombon was crafted so beautifully and the taste was so good! Quality to say the least. A few additional points to consider: They offer complimentary parking validation for up to three hours in the adjacent parking lot. This restaurant is an ideal choice for any celebratory occasion. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The restroom, located on the second floor, is clean, and there is also an elevator available for convenience. This is my second time visiting Bulla and it was another great experience. Cecil was our server for the evening and he so extremely pleasant, knew the menu well and was very attentive. The food was also fantastic and I literally could have eaten the bread and marinara sauce from the meatballs all evening! My only con with the Lavender Margarita is that I finished it too quickly due to it being so GOOD! That caused me only a couple of them. Lol read more

What an amazing experience. Great customer service. A gentleman helped me get seated. Even thanked me for waiting even though it wasnt much of a wait to me considering I was I was a walk in. Tristan was my server. Super sweet and knowledgeable of the menu. Beautiful aesthetics. I had the grilled steak and the chorizo stuffed dates. You can tell that much thought is put into the ingredients of each dish for the flavor pairings are AMAZING. Sangria blanco as my cocktail. I definitely will be back to try more of the tapas style dishes and entrees! read more
