Came in here for a Nicholas Sparks book Signing. I was amazed how smoothly this book signing ran. Everything was top notch, you walked in, grabbed your book, were ushered over for a meet and greet and picture, and then on your way. Pictures were downloadable off a site you were given directions to via a card they handed you on the way out. Kudos to you FoxTale Book Shoppe for all you do!!! read more

Visited for the first time with my kids for Pete the Cat story time. It was very sweet. Pete was there for a meet and greet and they were very organized in how they went about it all. They kill it in the events arena. Very well done, and a great way to draw people in to the store. Parking isn't extremely plentiful so if you visit for an event, be sure to arrive early. It is a small book shop with a pretty small and somewhat bare kids section which was surprising to me. Amazon is typically my go to for great prices and selection when it comes to books anyway so I wasn't devastated but it would have been nice to have a bit more to browse. I'll be back for sure for more story times, but I don't thInk this would be my go to book store without that. read more

FoxTale is a cool, independent book store in the heart of downtown Woodstock. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help you find a book, or order it for you if they don't have it. A real cool, cozy place, we try to stop by every time we are in the area. read more

My daughter and I came for story time and had so much fun! We will def return for future character story times. We will have to come a little earlier to grab a good seat. Super cute little book store with some character. It's right by the amphitheater and was perfect to take the kids in after running around. They have a little kids room with a rocking chair. They don't have a huge selection but quality choices for kids. If I lived close by we'd be there often. read more

Fox Tale is a serious reader's dream store. The ladies who run it are super friendly and love what they are doing. The shop is beautifully laid out in a great location and well stocked. They even have a small used section. I brought my 93 year old mom and they made her day, no, they made her week; she fell in love with the shop and we made plans to begin attending their frequent events. Little book shop packed full of great things! This shop, in the quaint but thriving Downtown Woodstock, is run by book lovers. If you're not sure what your next book should be, or are looking for the perfect gift, the folks here, all voracious readers, can certainly help you find the perfect book. Authors regularly (often multiple times a week) come by for signing events. It's a great opportunity to get to hear your favorite authors speak and get your book signed -- and usually a picture together. The kids' room is full of amazing children's books with soft floor rugs and small chairs to help inspire future readers! My daughter has pretty much grown up here -- coming for Saturday story time (11 am every Sat), summer camps, weekend family events and now just popping in to find unique books to read. read more

We love FoxTale Book Shoppe! I started going to FoxTail a little over a year ago for their story time with my son. It is great. He loves listening to the owner read fun stories and have a little dance/music time afterwards. They have it on Monday mornings and Saturdays as well... Mondays seem to have more little guys and Saturdays has more school age kids. We go on Mondays and usually try to get one or two books. They can also order pretty much any book you'd like. My son fell in love with these Magic Ribbon books and they ordered several in for us to see which other ones he'd want. read more

Fox Tales Book Shoppe was my favorite bookstore and gift shop. I attended many events there and have a collection of treasured autographed books. Unfortunately, this past year their strongest business partner left and the customer service and attitudes have declined. I also noticed the selection of literature and unique gifts decreased. Ellen ( the former partner ) was exceptionally knowledgeable about literature, book selections, authors and gifts. I miss the former culture of the shop. My last visit there I overheard one of the current owners yelling at another partner. I am currently going to alternative independent shops or ordering online from Amazon. read more

Judging from the reviews your in store experience may be totally different than your on line experience. My on line experience has been miserable and I could not recommend them. I ordered an autographed copy of a book. I received the book with a label resembling a home canning label with signatures stuck on one of the books pages. I sent an email and their response -" "bookplates" are common in the industry, return the book we'll give you a refund". Well if you'd told me you only had a limited number of books - because I had to work, I would have sent someone to get an actual autographed copy. I am familiar with bookplates and I would not dignify this label by using that terminology. If you cannot fulfill orders do not tell people you can. One day I may be lucky enough to meet the authors and get their autographs in a book or perhaps I'll order one from an ethical business who delivers what they promise read more

I collect books, including autographed first editions of presidents and candidates. In December 2015 I bought and paid for Senator Ted Cruz's book, "A Time For Truth" from it, on-line. I waited weeks for a delivery which never came. I sent one email to inquire, which was ignored. The second contained a reply non sequitur, about someone else's order. The next reply informed me they would not deliver the book they sold me, which I paid for when ordered. I found the book elsewhere, then going at a much higher price, as was my legal right, and asked they compensate me for the difference.
