Really great location! Had to drive far out for an order pickup but was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff was! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and the store was very organized and I could have walked around for hours! Checkout line was seamless and I was able to purchase my book and get my order with no issues! Super grateful my order wasn't cancelled and staff got me exactly what I wanted! When I made my purchase at the store I was offered a no receipt option (which I thought was a good thing... Until I discovered that I had not purchased exactly what I needed. 1.5 hours after my purchase I returned to the store for an exchange. I was told that I needed my receipt. The same clerk was at the front desk. Then a supervisor came up and said she would put a refund on a gift card, ok. During the process the supervisor said there was no return or exchanges allowed ... ALL because I chose Save a Tree! Never will I ever get near that business again because of the No Receipt trickery. Horrible horrible way to run a business and an excellent way to ruin future business. read more

This store's staff are some of the nicest people around....I think Books A Million is a fun store....their book selection is better than say Target or Walmart but they're not an intellectual book store. You're probably not going to find John Updike or Carl Sandburg's poetry in here...but lets face it unless you majored in literature in college...no one reads that stuff for fun...What they do have is stuff that's on the bestseller...the John Grisham, Nora Roberts, Clive Cussler and of course Harry Potter. Now I'm an equal opportunity reader. I read everything from The Paris Review to Danielle Steel. I'm not too prejustice about this stuff. Yes some books I like more than others such as Haruki Murakami's The Elephant Vanishes but I think there is a market for everyone. They also have lots of gifts and knick knacks from Marvel to Japanese anime figurines. Now I know now a days bookstore are vanishing every day. Very few bookstore can survive purely on selling books. So I don't fault them for doing so. Besides it's pretty fun to browse through all of their Star Trek and Doctor Who stuff.... Besides books and gifts...they also have a Joe Muggs coffee shop where you can sip and browse...winning combination. With a nice and helpful staff and big comfy chairs...you can't go wrong spending a nice Saturday afternoon here...who knows you might graduate to an intellectual book reader later on.... read more

I didn't hate it, but it wasn't my best experience in a store. Besides Luke at the register who, greeted me when I came in and was very polite at the checkout, none of the other two or three employees I came across even acknowledged my existence. Whereas, I did make a purchase I noticed nothing in the store on the topic I was originally searching for, and some of the aisles where not handicap accessible. I either had to move things to get through or just not even bother looking. Like I said it didn't totally suck, but it wasn't great either. I will probably just stick to Amazon from now on. read more

I will not come here again even tho I have a membership. Was trying to pick up a book light and $25 gift card for a fundraiser and was in a supposed line where two people in front of me saw the cashier. Then the cashier tells me I need to get behind the other people in a different line who just gathered there. Did she not have sense enough to tell me that prior to me waiting? I like to post good reviews but I will never come back here. I'm getting the stuff for the fundraiser at Barnes and Noble and will get my books there from now on. Poor customer service. read more

Great bookstore... Have a nice selection of "geek stuff" like Dr. Who, Trek, and Zombie stuff. Great variety of titles and authors but not a lot of depth... Very helpful (but not too-zealous) staff. Has a Joe Muggs Coffee attached which makes this a great place to kill an hour or two buying books and coffee. read more

One of the worst! Saleslady insists on badgering my wife about joining their rewards program. After replying that she would not like to join, my wife is subjected to continuing debate!! This has happened more than once. When isn't a polite "no, I don't want to join the club card" enough. Saleslady says that she's told to and that's just the way she is!! What? read more

Oh my goodness, how pleased am I with this store?!!!!!!! I was in a bind on Saturday and needed to make a quick purchase of a book, but I had our puppy with me and did not want to leave him in the car unattended. I telephoned the store to see whether I could bring him in with me for just long enough to grab one new bestseller, pay and leave! Not only did the salesperson, Lauren, agree to let me bring him in, she actually had the book I wanted to purchase at the counter for me! I was in and out in two minutes! read more

We bought a bible of all things from this location and unbeknownst to us were signed up for several magazines that resulted in unauthorized charges for magazines that we didn't request. This is a scam. Researched the number and several posts related to this came up. Very disappointing from a seemingly reputable company. Yet another pre-fabricated big chain box store. Just what Canton needs. Books-A-Million is a symbol of how little our country respects the craft of the written word, and this particular establishment makes no effort to hide that fact. It is mediocre to nth degree (specializing in paperback books, kitschy yet useless knick-knacks, etc.) and I only give it two stars because it is a bookstore. If you have any option at all, attend a local bookstore with character like Foxtales or Yawns. read more

I visited this location to see if a new children's book written by Taye Diggs, titled "Mixed Me" was in stock. I had difficulty located the book on the shelf from the day before and I decided to ask an associate at the Information's Desk for assistance. He couldn't locate the book and his excuse was well sometimes books are hard to locate because children don't return to where they belong and he decided to ask a co-worker. She was a huge disappointment due to her ignorance and insensitive remarks about where the book should have been placed on the shelf. She kept asking what the title of the book was and who authored it. She assumed this book should have been in "Special Needs" shelf. I am deeply disappointed in Books A Million's staff for assuming that a book about a Biracial child could be referenced as "Special Needs". I WILL NEVER SHOP IN THIS BUSINESS AGAIN!!!! read more

I LOVE the selection of books but why is it that the newly promoted manager IAN BRINDLE and cashier SAVANNAH BRUCE are having an affair? It's a well known fact he's married. Like only 9 months. Isn't it against store policy for managers to literary screw around with employees? Especially when they do it in front of customers as they pay for merchandise... If I wanted to watch a soap opera I would but no kidding it's disgusting watching these two undress each other with their eyes! This is a professional place, not a whore house....These two should be fired immediately it's a bad rep for this classy store. Canton store would not accept my check for a purchase. Computer states that will not authorize the check. Manager claims it is a computer glitch however also admitted that only get 2 or 3 checks a week. I wasted a lot of time in store. wont be shopping there again. Pat Turner read more

LARGE BOOKSTORE!!! Maybe to large if they have to charge full retail for their books. Went in to find some books for my son who is getting ready for collage admission work. Prices not marked on the books via store stickers, they used the full retail price which for my 3 books would have been over $140...NO THANKS bought them all on Amazon.com for $60 read more
