Foxy is a cozy, dark wood restaurant witha lot of attention to high qiuality food. I had the Chou-Fleur, which is a cauliflower appetizer that was with a creamy yogurt sauce and darkened with flavorful furikake (a Japanese topping). I followed that a small plate Snow Crab dish. The crab tasted delicate, fresh and light. I also shared a flatbread pizza from the wood-fire hearth - earthy taste with a tasty tomato sauce, chees and basil. The service was attentive and cheerful.

Foxy is a small dark neighborhood restaurant with most food served out of a roaring wood oven which you are able to watch if you are/were as lucky as we to sit near/at the chef's counter. Caution though it does get warm sitting so close. The service is very friendly & knowledgeable however they suggested we share four plates which was far too little to constitute a full meal by our standards. Also should you be more so a pescatarian the offerings may not be as vast as you may desire. The food often though were all well prepared and quite delicious!

I can't even begin to describe how special the experience at Foxy was. It certainly rates as one of my favorite overall experiences if not my favorite in Montreal. The place has a really cozy atmosphere, warm and inviting. The service was excellent all the way through. Attentive staff, friendly and they worked really well together to ensure the guests enjoyed their experience. The oysters were really well shucked and delightful. The mignonette was perfect. The homemade pita and feta served with a squash chutney was spectacular...the flavors just popped. The Maitake mushrooms were kissed by the fire and had just enough char to accentuate them. It was my favorite dish. The kohlrabi was great and the duck breast was perfectly cooked and unbelievably flavorful. We ended the meal with their Brown Sugar cocktail and a great cup of coffee. Overall just perfect. Will highly recommend it!

Dining at Foxy is an entire experience! I highly recommend eating here if you love unique flavors and farm to table experiences, with a fine dining twist. The atmosphere is relaxed, but also feels very romantic and exclusive. You could arrive in comfortable clothes or dressy and either would be acceptable, but once you sit down, you feel very special and part of an experience. Our server, Sam, was very knowledgeable and helped guide us to amazing dishes. We tried bison, asparagus, flatbread, and zucchini. It was all exceptional and worth the price. We also tried the Foxy martini and it was a unique and delicious experience. My picture does not do it justice! You'll have to try it for yourself.

Foxy is another excellent restaurant offering in Little Burgundy. Working of off a wood fired grill Foxy offers various meat, seafood, and pasta dishes. We were a group and did a family style menu curated by our server to highlight the hits of the restaurant. Some of the highlights ; Beef Tartare With Bread Crisps - excellent. Zucchini Tortellini - absolutely phenomenal. Sweet Potomac Flatbread - another phenomenal dish. Ribeye Steak - you'd expect a restaurant with a wood fire grill to serve an excellent steak and Foxy does. Service was great.

This review is actually 3.5* Small little cozy restaurants in Notre-Dame W with a terrace during the summer. Sat at the bar with a friend so that we can see the bartender in action. Cocktails were good overall. Had our waitress come up with a couple of dishes for us to share and a few of them were quite good: the Crudo was excellent! Anyone who usually doesn't eat raw fish, this will change your mind! The only one I would say to skip is the lettuce dish. It looks very pretty but tasted blend.

Came here with the cuzzo and her beau. We got to sit at the bar facing the kitchen, such a lovely view. Or server was absolutely kind, fantastic, attentive in ways that was both embarrassing and appreciative (I must have been chewing that gum like a freaking ravage for him to discreetly offer me a napkin so I could spit it out. Thank you? haha). He was overall super nice, gave absolutely great recommendations and definitely did his job well and seriously. I'm a sucker for a good server. To eat, we share the hanger steak (WOWZA!! Absolutely PHENOMENAL!). The accompanying salad was fantastic and the potatoes even more ravishing. Overall the meal was SUBLIME and definitely more than enough for 3 people to share. To drink, we had a Hungarian wife (my cuzzo's beau is Hungarian). Though I couldn't remember the name even if I didn't try, I can remember that it was very tasty! Also, did you know that not only are they female owned, but the majority of their staff is female. YYAAASSSS to female empowerment! Also helped that I had just been in Toronto for a conference that is entirely focused on female leadership (International Women's Forum, look it up). Will I be back? Absolutely! With my future husband, that is.

4.5 stars My hubs & I are soo excited to be back able to dining our after 1.5yrs of pandemic & quarantines! We're both double vaccinated & so grateful to science for helping us re-enter a green zone in Montreal! As our first indoor dining experience we went back to one of our favourite spots "Foxy" we ordered the hummus & feta starters a flatbread. I ordered a pasta main and my husband ordered the fish. Everything was delicious but it was a tad heavy on the salt. It may just be we don't use too much salt in our cooking at home. Overall another wonderful dining experience at Foxy. So happy it survived the pandemic!!

If this restaurant represents the beginning of The New Canadian Culinary movement than I am in! Simply delicious. Inventive, beautifully presented and served with exceptional and friendly table service. Yes, it has a limited menu and the portions are small. Came here for a Business dinner and decided to have a selection of different appetizers and entrees to share. The raw rainbow trout and the sweetbreads ravioli with an artichoke sauce were the standouts-- unique flavor profiles beautifully complemented. The Duck Breast with the wine reduction sauce is also a little slice of heaven. Fresh ingredients are the foundation to a sensational culinary experience. Wood fired taken to a new level. For dessert, try the sunflower mini muffin looking things. You will not be disappointed. Special Occasion, no occasion -- just make a reservation. Your guests will be impressed as will your taste buds. Bon A Petit!

I would give this place a 3.5 star. Cute place, I love the low lighting gives the ambiance a more relaxed feeling. The layout of the restaurant needs work. It was pretty packed when I went, the tables were pretty close to each other so sometimes it was a little awkward to manoeuvre out to the washroom. When you want out you would most likely make something fall from the table right beside from how close the tables were to each other. I ordered the Chipotle and lime ceviche and the homemade feta with pita bread and squash. The ceviche was delicious the breadcrumbs really helped level up the taste of the dish. The homemade feta was ok, definitely missing some taste and flavour. For the main course we order the grilled porc chop and the grilled arctic char. I was happy with the porc chops it was a good sized portion, the crème fresh mash was very light and fluffy. I could have done with less white bean vinaigrette, it had a very strong taste. I was impressed by the Arctic char, the skin was very well grilled crispy skin but soft on the inside without having a burnt taste. For dessert we had the chocolate caramel mousse and the apple crumble tart. The chocolate caramel mousse was Devine. The piece of toffee really elevated the whole thing. Not sure if I would go again. The food was average and underwhelming.

Another recommendation for another off the beaten path restaurant. Beautiful decor with an amazing bartender. I went with the local favorites - charred cauliflower and hanger steak. The cauliflower was amazing. It was salty at times but that's how it should be. I can see how some may not like it. The steak was perfectly cooked but may I say, the vegetables were amazing on this dish. I know, who am I and why would I ever say that?! It's okay, the food was great and the drinks even better. Sit at the bar, it's more fun that way. You'll even make some friends, which I did.

Got to try some delicious food during my short weekend trip to Montreal Quebec…read more A friend organized a lunch for everyone before we all headed to the airport and funny enough this restaurant was in the hotel my friend and i stayed at. The restaurant was super quiet when we went as it was a Monday afternoon when most people were probably at work. The interior was quite elegant very clean and royalty looking. The service was 10/10. Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show! The restaurant takes resos online and they do have brunch on the weekends, happy hour menu looks promising. If i'm ever in town again and in the area i'd want to try their happy hour or chacuterie spread!

(Hotel restaurants, can be good/bad) We were definitely not dressed up which I was worried about but it wasn't an issue, we started with beef carpaccio and charcuterie, the pate was absolutely amazing as were all the cured meats. The beef carpaccio, was for me a little bland, I would have hit it with a touch of salt, but once you got a piece th at had balsamic drizzle it really opened it up and changed my mind. (I wish there was a little more of the balsamic. My husband had the Cornish hen, and I had the filet mignon, both were absolutely amazing, I even stole a little of his Bleu cheese for my steak. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing. Our server was on point, his name was Pedro, I had asked him to send out a dessert privately and it was our 1 year anniversary, even though we were not dressed for the occasion as we were both exhausted from travel, We will probably be in for lunch tomorrow!

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee.
